Integrated Restoration,

Yoga Nidra,

A practice of falling in love with yourself,

Others and life itself.

Bringing your breath,

Allowing yourself to connect with your body in a comfortable position.

And as you're preparing your body for the practice of eye rest,

Be aware that every perception you experience,

Every sensation,

Feeling,

Emotion,

Thought,

Sound or sight that you experience is going to support you in deepening your practice today.

So begin now to be aware of each perception that you are experiencing,

The felt sense of your body,

The felt sense of the room around you.

Let all of these perceptions spontaneously come to you,

Allowing your senses to be wide open to both your external and internal experience.

Relaxing into awareness,

You may experience how your mind drifts and becomes identified with a thought or image.

As you become attentive to noticing an arising perception,

Allow yourself to give up becoming involved with it.

Integrated Restoration is a time to recognize how all perceptions are simply movements arising,

Unfolding and dissolving within the vast open spaciousness of awareness.

Each perception always pointing you back to realizing yourself as the vast spacious awareness in which all experiences are arising,

Unfolding and dissolving.

I rest is a time for you to learn to recognize yourself as ever-present awareness within which both waking thoughts and daydreams arise.

Deep dreams and deep sleep unfold.

During I rest,

There are moments when you may recognize that your body and mind are awake as a movement within your awareness,

As well as times when your body and mind are asleep sleeping in you in your awareness.

During all of these circumstances,

Integrated Restoration is a time when you can discover yourself as the ever-present background of awareness in which all the life is unfolding.

Your practice is the time to learn how to give up your identification with all that is arising and recognize how awareness,

Which can also be called presence or being,

Is always here as the background in which everything you are experiencing is arising.

Miraculous as an ever-present background of spacious presence in which every thought,

Every feeling,

Every emotion,

Every image,

Every daydream,

Every dream,

Every experience is arising,

Unfolding,

And passing away.

Notice if this is true for you,

As you allow yourself to be.

Feel yourself in each moment,

Sensing back into being your spacious presence,

Noticing all that occurs that is not this,

And then allow yourself back into your spacious presence,

Into being awareness itself,

Feeling your way into being the spacious ground of presence that's not something you're doing,

But is your very being.

Recognize being itself,

Being itself.

Over and over again,

Allow yourself to be with what is present in this moment as it unfolds.

During your practice,

Discovering sensations of comfort,

Discomfort,

Emotions,

Thoughts,

Images that are comfortable or uncomfortable,

And when you encounter a comfort or a discomfort,

And that you're learning how to meet it,

How to acknowledge it,

Even the difficult sensations,

The difficult emotions,

The difficult thoughts,

Accepting that they're present,

Each of them in their own right,

Accepting them into your awareness.

And while your first impulse may be to resist,

Refuse,

Or deny an uncomfortable sensation,

Emotion,

Or thought,

While your first impulse might be to try to change,

Or alter,

Or make it different,

As you deepen into your practice,

You're learning how to welcome and be with each and every experience.

That might be a revolutionary concept.

Maybe you start with acknowledgement and eventually you get to welcoming because each of these is a messenger.

It's important information here to deliver a message about something you need to know or understand about yourself,

Others,

Or the world around you,

And to reveal your very presence or being as being,

As awareness,

Which is the underlying peace and equanimity that integrated restoration helps you recognize,

Which has always been present,

Is always present during even your most difficult moments.

Acknowledging,

Welcoming.

So integrated restoration is your opportunity to learn how to welcome and respond to your every perception,

Your every sensation,

Emotion,

Thought,

And experience as a messenger that is welcoming you back home to your natural ease of spontaneous and authentic being.

During your practice,

Take time to recognize the impulse that arises within you to desire things to be other than they are,

The impulse within you that wants to change what is into something else.

Simply note this tendency,

This tendency of your mind to want things to be other than they are,

And welcome this tendency too so that you find yourself accepting everything that is arising,

Just as it is,

Just as it is.

Being awareness in these initial stages of your practice,

You'll notice your attention is naturally focused on the objects,

The perceptions that are arising within your body and mind.

On welcoming a sound,

A sensation,

Noticing an emotion,

A thought.

Meeting,

Greeting,

Acknowledging,

Maybe even welcoming each perception as it arrives,

It arrives in your awareness.

And there may come a moment during your practice when your attention shifts from being aware of these objects,

Perceptions,

To being attentive to the feeling of awareness itself,

To emphasizing being awareness,

Being welcoming,

Where awareness is now emphasized rather than objects in your awareness.

This welcoming,

This awareness is immeasurable,

An openness unfathomable to the mind,

A vast,

Open,

Unchanging,

And ever-present spaciousness in which everything is arising,

Unfolding,

And dissolving,

A welcoming of everything just as it is.

Exhaling with your breath and resourcing fully,

Releasing fully,

Begin to move your body in any way that makes sense to you.

Maybe wiggling your toes and fingers,

Rolling your ankles and wrists.

If you've been resting in a position on the ground,

Feel free to gradually bring yourself to a seated position.

Allowing a sense of the space around you is comfortable and inviting,

Safe.

Seeing the space all around you,

Touching and caressing you,

Connected with loved ones,

Connected with your knowing and understanding,

Awakening to your deepest nature,

Allowing these discoveries of everything,

All of your experiences,

Allowing them as invitations to awaken to your deepest understanding of yourself,

Of others,

And of life.

Acknowledging that each experience arrives as a gift to guide you back home to yourself,

To that which is always pure and secure,

Relaxed and at ease.

Allowing your head to drop,

Letting any tension release,

Hanging out here,

Allowing experience to arise in spacious awareness as you get some neck rolls in.

Least a couple in both directions,

Feeling your bones and your muscles,

Your central nervous system.

Clasping your hands,

Reaching up,

Allowing awareness that remains undisturbed,

Even as disturbing or unpleasant experiences arise,

Blossom and fade away,

Reaching up and over to each side,

Back,

Bringing your hands around to your heart,

Allowing every experience you are having,

Coming and going,

Changing and revealing awareness that always remains unchanged and unchanging,

Ever pure,

Ever present,

Just as it is,

Everything coming and going as you breathe in awareness.

Awareness is the ever present underlying ground of ease,

Security and restfulness,

Ease and restfulness in the midst of your life,

In the midst of your every experience as you go out into the rest of your evening or morning or afternoon,

Allowing yourself to experience it all from this place where you are in this moment.

Fully present.
