Welcome.
Come to a comfortable position.
I invite you to close your eyes if that feels supportive.
Let's explore reframing.
Imagine an empty two-dimensional square drawn on a lined sheet of paper.
Inside the square is a triangle,
Its tip pointing upward.
Now imagine gently turning the square 45 degrees to the right.
As the square turns,
The triangle's tip shifts,
Now resembling a play button,
Something that could be pressed.
The square has become a diamond.
Diamonds are formed under pressure.
Which areas of your life are currently applying pressure that may be shaping transformation?
Notice how the triangle's apex now points to the right,
Signifying pressing play on a transition already in motion.
Allow yourself to sit with this imagery.
Let your imagination assist in visualizing what change may already be unfolding.
Choose just one area you may have been holding back on.
Perhaps creativity,
Taking initiative towards a passion,
Reconciling a strained relationship.
As you identify this area,
Notice where you experience the sensation of pressure in your body.
Is it in the shoulders,
The hips,
The chest?
Acknowledging where change lives in the body can cultivate compassion towards self.
The chest may invite exploration of relationships.
The hips often hold stored emotion.
The shoulders commonly carry stress.
Our bodies provide clues,
Patterns,
That become visible only after permission is granted.
Connection unfolds when allowing becomes the doorway to becoming.
Now I invite you into a brief body scan.
Gently notice your left foot's connection to the surface beneath you.
Now your right foot.
Sense the support of the seat beneath your body.
Sturdy,
Predictable,
Safe?
Bring attention to your right middle finger.
Gently wiggle it.
Now touch your thumb to your middle finger on both hands.
This is known as Shuddhi Mudra,
Associated with patience,
Discipline,
Focus,
And stability.
This gesture supports a sense of grounding and courage,
And is often used to help clear negative or stagnant emotional energy.
Take a moment to inventory where the most tension resides in your body.
Simply observe.
No diagnosing,
No correcting,
No restructuring how your body is communicating with you.
Just noticing.
Now inhale intentionally,
Directing the breath towards the identified area,
Perhaps the right hip.
Then release with a longer exhale.
Softly whisper,
Or internally offer yourself permission for a reduction of sensation in this space.
When ready,
Gently release the thumb from the middle finger and allow your hands to rest naturally.
Notice your eyebrows.
Are they tense or relaxed?
Invite the muscles of your face to soften.
When it feels appropriate,
Begin to flutter your eyes open.
This meditation was an offering of acknowledgement,
Permission granted for ongoing communication with the tension-holding spaces of your body.
Take what served you,
Leave the rest.
You showed up today.
Honor the intention,
Patience,
And discipline you bring to your ongoing practice.
