Boxed Breathing Technique helps regulate the autonomic nervous system, particularly by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (responsible for relaxation). It can be used anytime and anywhere when you need to reduce stress, calm nerves, or improve focus and concentration. It involves breathing in a controlled manner to achieve a balanced state of mind and body.

This is a little guide to help you embody the boxed breathing method,

So find yourself in a comfortable position,

Either sitting or laying down,

And gently close your eyes and just tune in to your current breathing,

Don't try and change it,

Just become aware of it,

And very shortly we're going to go through this method,

Which includes taking a breath on the count of four,

Holding the breath on the count of four,

Exhaling the breath on the count of four,

And holding the breath on the count of four again,

Before taking the next breath,

So breathe out as we start to take this process in,

On the count of four,

Taking a breath in,

And then when you're ready,

Return to your normal breathing,

And wiggle your toes and fingers,

And gently return to the room,

And open your eyes.
