This meditation will help you to center yourself in the present and feel stable and secure. The first step of any mindfulness or meditation practice is being able to bring the mind to the here and now with concentration and focus. *A special thank you and blessing to David Kilowsky for creating the music for this meditation.

So relax the body and find a comfortable position for yourself.

The easiest way to start to reduce worry is to bring the mind to a place of stillness.

And the best place to bring the mind to is the here and now.

This is also known as being in the present.

Because worry is usually an emotion created by being in the future.

So take a deep breath in and let it out and be right here.

Once again take a deep breath in and let it out,

Again connecting with your body.

And for the last time take a deeper breath in and then let it out and by now the mind has moved from wherever it was to being here focused on my body which is breathing quite naturally,

Easily,

Calmly.

So when I focus my mind on anything in the present moment it helps to create inner stillness.

And it also helps me to gain some control,

Some inner strength over where my mind goes.

Let me pull my mind to this moment.

Let me hold it here.

Let me be right here,

Right now with myself.

It helps to focus on something when I deal with the mind.

So I'd like you to now just imagine a tiny star in your mind,

A tiny point of light.

This is the origin of all my thoughts.

And when my thoughts are busy there are crazy thoughts being emitted from this point of mind.

The quality of my thoughts starts to become full of worry and anxiety and the quantity of thoughts,

Way too many.

But now I see that this point of light,

The seed of my thinking is still.

Just light,

Just calm and very still.

My mind is now with me in this moment right here,

Right now.

And it feels good to have this space for myself,

To have this time for myself.

I allow myself to breathe naturally,

Stay focused on that point of light.

And now gently pick up one thought,

I am at peace.

I am at peace with myself.

I am at peace with my surroundings.

Right here and right now it's okay to be calm.

And there is no need to think or worry or even extend my energy into the future.

I am at peace with my current state of mind.

This point of light radiates energy of peace and fills my mind with a sense of calm.

This sense of calm then permeates through my entire body,

Allowing my body to let go of any tension,

Any stress.

And I realize that even though the world is not perfect and often is not correct,

Not right,

Not fair,

But it's up to me to create a sense of being at peace with the world as well.

It is what it is.

And often there's not much I can do to change what happens out there.

And yet if I stay in a place of peace and calm,

If I stay still,

Then it's easier to deal with anything that's happening on the outside.

So let this tiny point of light in my mind just radiate peace inside and then outwards into the world.

The world needs peace more than ever now.

The world needs this energy of peace and calm.

And so my vibrations,

My rays of peace reach out,

Helping people to find their own inner stillness,

Their own inner light to hold onto.

I stay with my own inner space,

Focusing on the inner light,

Spreading rays of peace into my mind and into the world right now.
