Let's talk about self-care.
Self-care,
I believe,
Equals self-love,
Which brings on contentment,
Which leads to more peace of mind.
You deserve love and care.
How many times have we thought about doing something for someone else to make them happy at the cost of our own positive energy and well-being?
I'm talking about myself as well.
How many times have we been really fatigued but we pressed on with the task because it was expected of us to finish it and we didn't want to let the other side down?
Sometimes we just have to take a minute to think about ourselves.
It's not being selfish,
It's being empowering.
It is refreshing yourself so that we have the energy to carry on with our own personal challenges and to be able to help someone else.
Instead of trying to operate on an empty tank,
We have to fill ourselves up with positivity,
With energy,
So that we have enough to care for ourselves and to share.
So today,
Let's think about what is one good thing you can do for yourself.
One good thing that might not benefit anyone else,
And of course it doesn't hurt anyone else,
But this is just a one thing that you feel like doing that will make you happy.
It could be taking a minute to work on a hobby,
It could be going out for a coffee and read,
Or a coffee and people watching.
It could be a bubble bath,
It could be a walk in the park,
It could be an exercise session,
It could be a session of journaling.
But the important thing is it's something that you are doing for yourself.
Something that renews your own energy supply,
Your own sense of self and your own sense of happiness.
Strangely enough,
Sometimes just sitting quietly and staring at the wall,
Or staring into space,
Or better still,
Looking at clouds,
Watching them move across the sky.
What you're really doing is just making your mind blank.
Sometimes that's helpful.
It sounds weird,
But it's like your mind just becomes quiet,
Like the surface of a calm pond.
And sometimes useful ideas come to you.
Or sometimes you just feel a bit more rested,
A bit more at peace.
If you've been trying to work something out in your mind,
How to do a certain thing,
You can just close your eyes during this mini break.
Sometimes just by being quiet,
It's like a mini reboot,
A mini computer reboot.
And the solution or partial solution or just a bit of stress relief comes to you.
It doesn't hurt anybody else,
But it helps you ever so much.
Why not think about what you feel like doing.
It could be even for just five minutes or the whole day.
Think about it and then go for it.
And then once you do it and the reaction,
The feeling is positive,
Whenever you feel the need in the future,
Whenever it's a good time for you,
Do it again.
That can be one of your go-to techniques for de-stressing,
For revitalizing,
For refreshing.
If it works,
Put it in your toolkit and do it whenever you need to.
Keep your personal batteries well charged with love and care.
The more we take good care of ourselves,
The more we can take good care of others.
And that's today's wisdom bit nugget.
Take care of yourself.
Love yourself.
Take that break when you need it.
You'll come back that much stronger and focused and you'll feel a whole lot better.
