Hello,
I'm Steph Burke.
Today's meditation is focused on unbecoming,
On letting go of who you believe yourself to be and the stories that have led you here to focus on who you truly are.
Let's begin.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable way to be in the body.
Letting go of an idea that you might hold about the shape that your body should make.
Can we embrace in this moment the shape that the body wants to make?
And once we find that shape,
Can we encourage our bodies to settle,
To soften,
To arrive?
This practice today isn't about anything that came before this moment,
Nor is it about what's coming in future moments.
Today's practice is about letting go,
About unbecoming.
Can we offer our bodies up in this moment to the earth so that we may know deep relaxation in the muscles?
When we allow ourselves to be held,
We signal to the body that we are safe,
That we are protected,
Reminding the body how safe it is exactly where it is.
Let's bring our awareness to the breath,
Breathing in,
Noticing all of the sensations as the air moves into the body,
And breathing out,
Feeling all of the sensations as the air exits the body.
Let's do that three more times at your own pace and depth,
Just watching the breath.
Whatever's brought you to this moment,
Can we let it go?
As we unwind from our day,
We begin to peel back the layers.
Peeling back the layer of whatever happened today,
Can we allow ourselves to bring our focus beyond the happenings of the day?
Can we remind ourselves that we did the best we could today,
And what we could do was perfect?
We know that we are not our actions.
We are not our accomplishments.
We are something beyond.
Just for this moment,
I'd invite you to put aside the idea of who you are.
Whatever role it is you play,
Whatever hats you wear,
Stepping out of the mirror,
Looking aside,
Looking beyond.
When I strip away all of the stories that have led me to this moment,
What is it that remains?
Each of us can answer this for ourselves.
Each of us knows our own truth.
The truth of who we are.
I am a being.
I am life,
Force,
Energy.
I am consciousness.
I am spirit.
I am divine.
As we take our next few conscious breaths into the body,
Let's imagine drawing in light,
Letting the body be illuminated.
Breathing out,
Releasing,
Softening.
Breathing into the lightness of your being.
Let it shine through your every cell.
