In this simple meditation we will connect to our breath to center us in the present moment and find calm. We will then spend some time focusing on what or who we are grateful for in our lives. Connecting to gratitude is a wonderful way to shift our perspective and bring happiness and appreciation to your day. This mediation can be used everyday. Take the 5 minutes for you and see how wonderful it feels to connect to gratitude.

Hi,

This is a five minute meditation for breath and gratitude.

Go ahead and get comfortable either in a seated position or if it's better for you laying down.

The key is that you're comfortable.

Allow your eyes to gently close and just start to focus on your breath.

Focusing with each inhale,

How it feels with the air entering your body.

Notice the rise and fall of your chest.

See if maybe you can take in a little bit more air with each inhale and let go with each exhale.

Continue on this next breath.

Take a deep breath in and just sigh it out audibly through your mouth,

Letting go,

Relaxing.

Let's try that together again.

Deep inhale in through our nose and audibly sigh it out through your mouth.

Continue to focus on your breath as you relax the muscles in your face,

Your shoulders melt down.

Your heart opens with each inhale and each exhale.

Feel your hips sinking down being supported by the earth and allow the muscles in your arms and legs to just soften.

If any thoughts arise,

Allow them to float by like a leaf floating down a stream with no attachment,

No judgment,

And just return to focusing on your breath.

Maybe it would help you to count your inhales to four and count your exhales to five or whatever number combination might work best for you.

Letting your body relax as you continue to focus on the breath.

Thinking if maybe with your next inhales you can take in a little bit more.

Maybe you can inhale to five,

Exhale to six,

Or inhale to six,

Exhale to seven.

Letting the breath to fill you up,

To help you release,

To help you let go.

And now I invite you to think about someone or something you are grateful for in your life.

Something or someone that brings you joy,

Something or someone that fills you up.

Allow that feeling of gratitude to wash over your body,

To fill you up and settle in your heart.

Maybe even send out an idea of thanks for this person or this thing being in your life.

Take a few more moments to really concentrate on that feeling of gratitude.

And as you're ready,

Take a deep,

Full inhale in through your nose,

Exhale out through your mouth.

Hopefully you're feeling a little more relaxed and a little more filled up with a feeling of gratitude.

Have a wonderful day.
