
Enneagram 4: Creating A New Story
I wanted to make a meditation for all of you 4s out there. I wanted to take a moment to slow down and remind you that you matter, give you some space to release old pain, find some clarity, and help you create a new story. Sending buckets of love your way! XOXO, Steph

Let's create a new story.
Are you ready?
Go ahead and close your eyes and allow your body to just relax into wherever you're resting and allow your breath to flow naturally and easily.
Just giving yourself this moment,
This moment to turn in in a new way in a way that nourishes your soul and your life and frees you from some of that negativity,
The thoughts you play over and over.
We just want to slow down for a moment and just listen to my words and let your imagination create a visualization to go along with this story.
Just taking a breath into your belly,
Breathing in through your nose and letting your belly expand.
And go ahead and take one more of those breaths.
As you do,
You're waking up your body in a new way.
You're inviting your mind and your cells and your nerves to experience this moment a little differently than you are experiencing your day so far.
You're just going to take a break from all of that negative self-talk and focusing on your flaws and so as you let your breath flow naturally and you realize you're worthy of that breath,
You matter and you're important and this breath alone reminds you of that.
You have air to breathe to fill your lungs.
It's a wonderful way to remind yourself that you matter to the world because your breath is life and you have it.
And as you tune into your breath,
I want to remind you that all emotions are for you to experience,
Including joy.
You are worthy of joy and goodness and accomplishing the things that are on your heart,
The dreams that you've created for yourself.
You're worthy of all of that.
And this knowing that all emotions are for you to experience comes with the knowing that emotions are not meant to lead your day in all of your decisions and all of your experiences.
Your feelings are telling you something about yourself in that particular moment.
Your emotions are not defining your self-worth.
They're giving you information of the experience you're having.
And then you can let them go.
And I know you've spent so much time carrying pain from the past with you today,
Carrying it into your present and I want to encourage you to take a moment now to release some pain of your past so your future can be free of it.
So just take a moment and see yourself gathering it in your hands.
Pick a point of pain in your life from your past,
A hurt that you've been carrying with you and gather it up from your body,
Allowing your mind and your heart and your cells to release it.
Just gather it in your hands and say your goodbyes.
Say your goodbyes to this pain that you've been carrying.
This pain has completed its job in your life.
So as you say goodbye,
It's time for you to set it free and let it go.
Maybe you blow it away out of your hands or maybe you give it a light toss.
Whatever feels good for you,
Just release it and let it go.
And watch as it floats away,
Away from you and you see it floating away.
It's getting smaller and just see it getting smaller and smaller and smaller until it disappears completely.
And now you notice this extra space within you.
This space has created more room for joy,
More room for experiencing life,
For being able to stay in the present moment to stay in the moment instead of escaping to your head,
Into your thoughts,
Into your daydreams.
And if you'd like,
You can go ahead and take another moment to gather another painful memory from your past.
Just gather it up knowing that releasing this memory doesn't take away who you are as a person,
As an individual.
It doesn't lessen your importance.
You can release the pain and remain somebody who matters,
Someone who's worthy.
So go ahead and gather up this memory,
This moment in your life that caused you pain.
Remove it from your mind and your body and your soul and your cells.
Gather it in your hands,
Say your goodbyes and then release it and watch as it drifts and floats away from you.
Drifting away,
Floating away and as it floats away it takes with it all of the negative self-talk it helped create.
Just removes that negative self-talk from you and you release it,
Letting it go.
And even though this feels uncomfortable,
You know it's worth it.
As you release this pain,
The understanding of your importance and that you matter in this world begins to grow.
You can feel that space inside you warming up,
Lighting up and you know that there's some truth to it.
That there's truth to the statement you matter to this world.
You matter to the people in your life,
The work you do.
The work you do matters.
The people you love you matter to.
The little actions you take that shows how you care,
That shows how you love,
It matters.
Step into your confidence,
Into your empowerment.
Into taking action and being productive and doing meaningful work even when you aren't in the right mood.
That you can stop putting things off because you know that it is okay for you to experience confidence and joy and goodness and so it just floats away until it disappears.
And now you just take a moment with this new you,
With this new version of you that has more love and joy and understanding of your importance.
More confidence,
You just take a moment and you ask yourself for some clarity.
If there's anything your highest self wants to share with you right now that would provide you a moment of clarity,
Go ahead and ask for it and receive it now.
And with that clarity,
You understand that part of creating your new story includes taking time to really understand what it is that you want to be.
And with that clarity,
You understand that part of creating your new story includes taking time for wholesome self-discipline.
And this could be sleeping regular hours,
Consistently exercising,
Finding ways that soothe yourself and uplift yourself.
Perhaps you find yourself drawn to things that make you laugh more,
That allow you to create,
That it is possible for you to create the beautiful creations that you make even when you experience joy.
That your creativity is unlimited and it's expansive just as you are.
And you know with this new you,
With this new space that it becomes easier for you to start doing what you say or imagine yourself doing.
And you can do these things.
You can take action even on the heavier days and on the lighter days because what you do matters.
And even when you have a moment of doubt,
You still matter.
You still matter in this world so let that sink in.
Allow your body the space to just let it sink in.
Allow your body the space to just let it settle for a moment.
Slow down your thoughts.
Resist the urge to push away the idea that you matter.
And just take a moment and ask yourself is there anything you need right now in this moment?
Is there anything you need to do for yourself today?
And just let that sink in.
Allow yourself to let it settle for a moment.
And just take a moment and ask yourself is there anything you need right now in this moment?
Is there anything you need to do for yourself today?
Something that would nourish you,
That would uplift you,
That would soothe you.
For you,
The first thing that comes to your mind is just fine.
Perhaps you can give yourself the permission to do that thing today.
Just for today,
Just allow yourself to experience the day a little differently than you have before.
Experience the day with the permission of someone who's allowed to experience joy and goodness and clarity and action and confidence.
Because you're worthy of that all.
Go ahead and take a moment and just feel some gratitude for yourself and the work you just did today.
Perhaps it was uncomfortable and you stayed and you did it and you released and you received.
This is a wonderful thing.
Just breathe it in.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and open your eyes.
Take in a breath and step into the rest of your day as this newer version of you and continue to create a new story.
You're very capable of doing so.
And thank you for spending this time with me today.
I'm sending you buckets of love and I hope you allow yourself and give yourself permission to receive it.

My very very monkey mind has found its chair to *sit still in* finally, after so long of running the show. I feel like this meditation has provided the beginning of a path back to a sense of self that I've lacked for a long while. A return to the peace that I deserve and that I need to feel complete. For a few moments following this meditation, at least, I can just be, I can hear a higher self a little. Thank you.
