In this energising session, we’ll be combining breath with movement to help release tension and tightness in the upper body. 5 short rounds at 2 different speeds of deep breathing with brief breath holds in-between for added focus and energy.

Hello and welcome to another guided breathwork session.

Today's breathwork technique is an energising breathwork where we will inhale deeply through the nose and exhale through the mouth for 5 rounds at 2 different speeds.

Each round is followed by a breath retention of 30 seconds.

On the first tempo,

We will extend the arms above the head on the inhale and shake them out on the exhale.

It will look and sound something like this.

On the second tempo,

Sit nice and tall,

Breathe deeply and double the speed.

Finding your way to a comfortable position now,

Sitting up,

Elongating your spine,

Imagining a piece of string gently pulling you towards the sky.

Allow your eyes to close and your jaw to relax.

Get comfortable now and let's begin with round number 1 in 3,

Fill the belly,

Fill the chest,

Let it burn.

Last shaking exhale of the round and we'll speed it up,

Double the speed.

In and out like a wave,

3 more at this speed,

2 to go.

Last one,

I'm going to take a deep breath in and hold.

Hold here and let it go right into a 30 second breath retention.

Notice how your body is feeling in this moment.

Feeling present and aware.

Take a deep breath in,

And hold,

Squeezing your whole body,

Tucking your chin and let it go with a sigh.

Get ready for round number 2 in 3,

Let the rhythm of your breath bring you back to balance.

Feel the connection between your body,

Mind and soul with every breath.

Double the speed.

Keep going,

This breath retention allows you to access your inner peace,

Your self-awareness.

Just holding for a few moments longer.

Allow your body to fully relax into this moment.

Take a gentle breath in through your nose and just release it.

Returning to regular breathing now,

In through your nose and out through your nose.

Hold on to the lightness you've created today,

Bring a gentle smile to your face as you go about your day,
