Welcome to this Enneagram meditation,
Centering around the heart triad.
Arrive and settle,
Get comfortable,
Gather yourself into this space.
When you're ready place your hands on your heart space.
Bring your attention to the connection between your hands and your body.
Begin to notice the rise and fall of your chest as you breathe in and out.
When your attention wanders return to the connection between your hands and your heart.
Return to noticing the rise and fall as you breathe.
Welcome stillness and peace.
With your hands connected to your heart space let your body sink and release.
Let your shoulders drop,
Maybe slowing your breathing,
Softening your face and sinking into a greater place of stillness and rest.
As stillness arrives you may notice the rhythm of your heart beating beneath your hands.
If this is possible connect your attention to the pulse.
Letting yourself be present to this rhythm.
If you're unable to notice the beat of your heart begin to imagine the pulse.
Connecting your attention to the rhythm that you're imagining.
Stay as attentive as possible.
Let your attention be drawn to this rhythm whether it's imagined or real.
And begin to let your heart know that you are here with loving presence.
Offering your time and your attention.
We're welcoming the heart to speak.
As you continue to be attentive notice what arrives.
Emotion,
Image,
Memory.
Perhaps desire surfaces.
Perhaps you begin to notice feelings arise that have been hiding and now want to be seen and acknowledged.
Stay as present as possible to what's arriving.
Giving space and love to all that you're noticing.
I'm going to give you some moments to be in this noticing.
To follow the thread of what your heart is offering you in this moment.
If you need more time to be with your heart in this way.
Listening,
Attentive,
Giving space to emotion,
Feelings.
Do return to this meditation.
You may want to pause the recording and begin to write without thinking too much.
Without editing.
You may simply want the pen and the paper to connect.
To begin to allow what's in your heart to be a stream that flows onto the page.
Keeping your hands where they are or lowering them.
Now let your attention come to those that you love and are in relationship with.
Let the faces of those that you love,
Of those people in your life come before you.
Spend some moments reflecting on who they are.
Who is special to you?
Who are you connected with?
As you reflect on these relationships does anything capture your attention?
Perhaps one person in particular.
Perhaps there's some disharmony between you and another.
Become aware of what you notice.
Are you seeking anything from any of these people that is not theirs to give?
Is your heart open to them?
Do you cling and grasp onto any of these relationships?
Or do you flow alongside them with an open heart?
Perhaps you look to one or two of these relationships for your own sense of significance.
Open to receive any insight that these reflections want to offer you.
To finish I'm going to read a blessing by Kate Bowler.
And it's called Forfeeling It All.
Blessed are you who feel things big.
You who might feel embarrassment because of how overwhelming things can be.
Blessed are you who need reminders that those emotions are not bad or good.
They are just information.
You feel angry because this is unjust.
You feel sad because this is awful.
You feel tired because this is exhausting.
Your emotions are not wrong or bad or lying to you or telling the full truth.
They are giving you a bit of data that you shouldn't ignore.
We love and lose and fall and get back up and fail and try again.
Your humanity is not an affront.
We are reminding ourselves that this is who we are,
How we're made.
To feel the pain,
The grief,
The stress,
The risk,
The fear,
The heartbreak.
So you beautiful creature,
Here is your permission slip to feel it all.
To feel the joy and delight and excitement and the sorrow and fear and despair.
All the yellows and pinks and violets and greys.
Because you are the whole damn sky.
Beloveds may love meet you in every feeling.
May love meet you in all that your heart carries.
In all that it aches for and longs for.
In all the ways that it suffers.
In all the ways that it worries for other people.
May love meet you in your heart.
Deeply and tenderly and with great compassion.
May you know how much you are loved.
Simply by being you.
Simply by breathing.
Simply by being here.
Be blessed.
Amen.
