Hello and welcome to another of one of my real world meditations.

These are recorded in the real world,

Not in a studio,

Not in sanitary artificial quiet circumstances.

They're recorded outside in the open.

You'll hear birds rustling of the trees as the wind blows through them.

You might hear vehicles in the distance or even voices.

All of that reminds us that we are living in reality.

Reality doesn't conform to the conditions of retreats.

Reality is now and this meditation is designed to be a practical help to building resilience and calm and peace right now.

If anything you might find the noises in this recording contribute to deepening your experience and everyday calmness.

So this is the mind mirror meditation.

What if your mind was fully present in the now,

Free of thoughts of future and past?

Would it be like a mirror that simply reflects whatever is going on in this moment?

So take just a couple of moments just to get comfortable into a position where you're alert but comfortable and ideally can't be disturbed just for the few minutes that this meditation runs.

Let's begin now.

I'm going to guide you gently so that you can know what your mind is like when it is still and simply responding to this moment.

Of course you don't need to do anything in particular but I know that our minds like to think like the heart beats.

So just by listening to my voice guide your subconscious your mind will feel occupied.

Take a few deep long breaths.

That's right.

In and out slowly,

Easily.

Effort in the activity in the moment now.

The breathing shows us that we hold on to nothing.

We take a breath in and then let it go.

In and out.

That's right.

I realize that everything is changed,

Transients this instant.

Moments of silence.

The moment is the only real moment.

Sounds arise and then disappear in this moment.

Our feelings too are like our breathing.

They come and go.

Come and go.

Sri Ramana Mahara she said.

Let what comes,

Come.

Let what goes,

Come.

Why do you worry?

Watching and listening to the coming and going.

Is you breathing in and out in this moment.

And I want you to imagine a moment without worry,

Without thought,

Without thought.

Concern for the future or the past.

To do this you might have to do the opposite and you know how that feels.

To think of the opposite of worrying.

If you find it hard,

If you find it hard,

Try to realize that you are not in the right place.

If you find it hard,

If you find it hard,

Try to resist the peace of being in this moment right now.

You may have already started to become aware of that space between your breath,

Between the in and the out.

That space between past and future.

That space between sounds,

Between worrying and no more worrying.

If you have yet,

If you have yet,

Don't worry.

There's no need for you to let go now and relax deeper and deeper and deeper.

So calm,

So calm.

Breathing in and out.

The fact that you are listening to this means you're able to relax your mind and enjoy the space between thoughts.

Resting from what is coming.

Resting from needing.

Resting between past and future.

Imagine for a moment being a mirror.

As a mirror,

How do you respond to the world?

Just taking time off from thinking now.

That's right.

Imagining being a mirror.

You may be aware of the peace as you simply observe and reflect on the world as it is right now.

Letting what comes,

Comes,

Comes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Of course you might think that worrying might keep you safe and time spent worrying is time missed now.

Spending this moment of reading uncomfortable feelings in the future can cause uncomfortable feelings now.

In this moment.

It's better to feel okay now,

Isn't it?

In the future.

It will be the now.

And it's better to feel okay now,

Isn't it?

You know you can't feel better in the future or the past.

You can only feel better right now.

Relax more deeply.

That's right.

Just letting what comes,

Comes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Just like a mirror.

Reflecting what is here right now.

And you feel more peace now because you've learned that feelings only exist now.

Just enjoy the feelings you have now.

And that's right.

And that's right.

Like the mirror,

Reflecting this moment.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

Letting what goes,

Goes.

There is no need for you to understand how you will enjoy more feelings in this moment.

You can let yourself enjoy whatever benefits come from listening to this relaxation session.

Self kindness,

Relaxing,

Letting go.

Release your need to worry as you breathe out.

Ah,

That's right.

And in a moment,

Like this one now,

You will come out of this relaxing trance-like state,

Gently and noticing the feelings of calmness and presence.

Take a deep breath in.

And let it go.

Now take another breath and imagine cool,

Energizing,

Fresh sea air entering your body.

Awakening,

Refreshed,

Calm and ready to return to this moment right now.

Take another deep,

Energizing breath.

And maybe stretch a little and let it go.

Open your eyes whenever you are ready.

Letting what goes,

Goes,

Goes.
