We forget how intrinsic the entirety of creation is in relation to us. The most awe-inspiring and perfectly placed Sun and Moon feed us and nourish us with their sweet nectar every single day. This short meditation draws them into our bodies and allows us to become one with these fragments of the source.

We sometimes forget how much we play a part in creation,

Never looking at ourselves with the whole in relation to the whole,

Very rarely seeing us and it all as a bigger picture.

In yoga there are three fundamental channels arranged perfectly around and within the spine,

Channels that are unseeable by the human eye but feelable as channels of life energy running through us.

The channel that runs to the right of our spine is called pingala,

This is the solar energy,

The masculine,

And the channel to the left we call ida,

This is the lunar energy,

The feminine.

These two channels represent the basic duality of existence,

Without these two dualities life wouldn't exist as it does right now.

In the very beginning everything is primordial but once creation happens duality is born.

I would just like to caveat that what we refer to as masculine and feminine in yoga is not a reference to sex of male and female but instead these terms describe certain qualities of nature,

The masculine and the feminine qualities of nature.

The idea is to bring a balance of these two channels and qualities within us,

Bringing the Sun and the Moon inwards.

Some days when sat on the earth I romanticize this within me and I find it so beautiful to sit with me and the Sun and Moon outside of me and within me.

What a beautiful landscape of poetry and narration of life,

What a beautiful way to feel our relationship to them and with them.

I love the way they exist always,

Hidden occasionally by nature's clouds or the tilting of the earth but always there,

Positioned so precisely and accurately to do nothing but provide for us,

For us to receive them abundantly and eternally,

The way they never leave us but one day we will leave them and have to say our goodbyes,

The way they watch over us all,

Out of reach,

So grand,

So motherly and fatherly,

Like the great king and queen of this earth,

Keeping us warm through the days and comforted through the night,

Sat in their illumination,

Balancing us and this world,

The tides,

The air we breathe,

The growth and vitality in all of creation and they do it so effortlessly and beautifully.

You know we are the ones who should apologize for how we sometimes do not do this earth justice as they sit above us consistently providing for us.

I feel the masculine in the Sun,

The strength of providing for and protecting,

Watching over and logically nurturing,

Balanced so gracefully with the receiving of the feminine in the moon,

Seeing so intuitively through the darkness,

Eyes closed but following heart,

Gentle,

Soft,

Grounded into a whisper of love.

And I sit night and day and I bask in the warmth of the sunlight and the comfort of the moonlight and I allow them to fill me and we are one and I am whole.
