Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
I'm Tanya and this is,
We're just continuing our journey of the chakras.
And today we're working with the Svadhisthana,
The sacral chakra.
If anybody's ever told you that you need to have your chakras fixed,
You should run away because the chakras aren't broken.
We just need to awaken them.
The other thing is,
Is sometimes you'll hear the phrase lower and upper chakras and my teacher likes to describe them more as earth chakras and heavenly chakras.
Because lower indicates maybe lesser.
I like to include that.
Today is the Svadhisthana chakra and this is our,
Basically our sacral chakra.
It's associated with the color orange and Svadhisthana means dwelling in one's own place.
And it's also associated with water.
It's associated with the tongue and taste.
On a physical level,
It also includes our reproductive and abdominal organs in the sacral area.
It includes the lymphatic system,
Our hips and it's also associated with the sacral plexus,
Which is a bundle of nerves that supplies our buttocks,
Our thighs and our anal sphincter.
So on an emotional level,
When we are deficient in or it's not active,
The Svadhisthana,
We have feelings of guilt,
We have a fear of pleasure and yes,
Our fear of sexuality,
Any kind of pleasure.
We become emotionally numb and we become rigid in our ideals or in our emotions,
Maybe even stoic in our emotions.
There's also in a deficiency in this area,
A feeling of loneliness,
Isolation,
Even a feeling of abandonment.
Again,
Maybe on a physical level,
We might experience back pain,
We might have menstrual troubles,
We might have any pain in the pelvic region,
Essentially.
And when we are excessive in this area,
We tend to be bipolar.
That tends to be the overactive Svadhisthana and certainly maybe addictions,
Particularly in the form of sexual addictions or any other kind of pleasure addictions.
We have attachments if we are overactive in this sacral plexus.
So when we are balanced,
And this is what we are always striving for,
To bring it into awareness and bring it into the vibratory realm as well as the visual and the auditory realm.
So we'll be working with those today.
But when it's balanced,
We are fluid,
We're able to flow with life,
We don't feel stuck in any of those areas and creativity,
Have positive relationships,
Our senses are alive,
Our taste,
We have taste function,
And we have a balanced lifestyle.
The element is water,
So we're going to invoke water and the color orange as well as the seed syllable is vam.
And it's associated with the musical note D.
Vam,
Vam,
Vam,
Vam.
Alright,
So you can keep that going and close your eyes.
Place your hands on your abdomen or on your hips.
Vam,
Vam,
Vam,
Vam,
Vam.
Keep that going in your head as I start to guide you through the meditation.
You can say this out loud or just feel the vibration in your body.
The sound alone,
You might start to really feel it in the Svadhisana chakra.
You might really start to feel how that is a vibration.
The chakras move eventually beyond our physical body and become light,
Become color,
Become essence.
So this is what we are trying to work with in these chakra systems.
Eyes are closed or open,
Hands resting in this area,
Continuing that vibration.
Draw your breath into this area and your sensory awareness here.
And allow your breath to become fluid in any direction.
Feel the fluidity of the breath in and down and up and out.
So this chakra is also the dwelling of self nourishment.
How is it that you nourish yourself and in this practice you are nourishing yourself with the sound,
The color,
The swirling vibrations,
The intentions of balancing and awakening this chakra,
Allowing the fluidity of life and the fluidity of breath to come in.
And feel yourself returning to self nourishment.
Feel yourself bathing in the waters.
And feel this calm depth of your being.
Where in your life would you like to flow more effortlessly to experience the beauty,
The connectivity,
The nourishment?
Is it in relationships?
Is it in your work?
Is it in a creative endeavor?
We can plant that seed of intention and nourish it with water.
As our body finds a sense of harmony,
Balance,
Fluid,
And feel any tension that is restrictive,
Rigid,
Feel the waters erode that tension.
Feel your breath erode that tension,
Consciously releasing negative tension with the breath,
Negative or ideals in which you hold on to that prevent the flow of life and all of its beauty,
All of its magic.
Feeling your body flooded with harmony,
Flooded with nourishment,
The feminine aspect of our beings which is receptive,
Creative,
Cool,
Nourishing.
The gentle flow that allows us to move easily through life,
A welcoming in other possibilities.
Let's continue the flow of your breath,
The flow of nourishment for just a few more moments in silence.
Let's continue the flow of your breath.
Let's continue the flow of your breath.
Let's continue the flow of your breath.
And so if your eyes were closed and you'd like to open them now,
Go ahead and welcome in maybe a little bit of movement,
A little bit of fluidity through the joints.
Be well.
