You ARE The Centre Of Your Universe
by Trish Rock
Do you remember being told at some point in your life: "Who do you think you are! The centre of the Universe!" Or, "The Universe does not revolve around you, you know!" They were well meaning adults that were also taught to always think of others first. Don’t ask anything about how your life could be improved or try to get too much attention now! We have been indoctrinated into believing that everyone else is more important than us. We must put our needs and desires last. Others are far more important. In this short talk I speak to the truth that how you feel matters and your life matters too!

Hi there,
I'm Trish Rock and welcome to this talk.
The heading is,
You Are The Centre Of Your Universe.
I hope that this topic will inspire you today.
Do you remember being told at some point in your life,
Who do you think you are?
The centre of the universe?
Or perhaps the universe does not revolve around you,
You know.
They were well-meaning adults that were also taught to think of others first.
Don't ask anything about how your life could be improved or try to get too much attention now.
We really have been indoctrinated into believing that everyone else is more important than we are.
We must put our needs and desires last.
Others are always far more important.
And I feel that this is really changing now.
And this is why I wanted to talk about this topic because the energies around now,
Especially over the last few years,
So many of us have come to realise that living our lives for others leaves a gap within us.
It's that soul calling,
It's that feeling of something's missing,
It's that feeling of out of alignment.
Of course,
Many of you listening here will be in the career of service or a light worker.
And as light workers,
We are here to serve.
There is however,
Also the truth that how you feel matters and your life matters too.
And how can you serve from an empty cup?
That's the first thing I wanted to say.
You cannot serve well from an empty cup,
Not for a long time anyway.
You matter.
And while it is great to be in service to others,
To nurture others,
And to care about and love others,
You must also give this to yourself.
And it's not selfish in the traditional meaning that people give it,
Like it's a bad thing.
Right?
In fact,
Being selfish will set you free.
Caring about the self is important and it's why you are here.
After all,
In reality,
Everyone else is just a player in the game of life that you are making up.
Are they not?
So I think this issue of selfishness has really come to the fore over the last little while of our evolution.
And more and more people are exercising greater self-care so that they can actually care for others in a bigger way.
Where are you at with this?
Where are you at with this?
Send me a message,
Let me know.
So then the second thing is this,
It may be hard to believe,
But your universe does actually revolve around you.
You see,
There is a difference between the universe and your universe,
But it's your universe and the universe,
But it's also same,
Same because we are all one,
Right?
The universe is you and you are the universe.
So is everyone and everything.
We're all like one sparkling little star in the sky,
But we're all part of the sky.
And your universe or reality is revolving around you because you see you are creating it from your unique perspective,
From your unique experiences and from your energy.
You are creating how you feel,
What you see,
What your reality,
How it's all unfolding.
So that is your universe.
And then we also have a collective reality or universe that we are a part of where there's a collective consciousness of the same ideals,
The same visions,
The same beliefs.
But once again,
You will see and feel differently and uniquely here as well,
Even in the collective reality,
You will have your own perspective on it.
So you will still have your own reality inside the collective reality.
I had the opportunity recently,
Which is why I wanted to bring this talk to life,
I had the opportunity recently to step into the realities of several other people with more awareness than normal.
Because I know that we do this all the time.
Every time we're talking to a friend who is discussing their life,
You're stepping into their reality.
But we often aren't aware of that.
We're not aware of the reality that we're in.
We're often just listening with an empathic ear.
And,
You know,
We're not kind of thinking about how different our realities are.
But I really had that awareness recently.
And you know,
One of the webinars I was on,
And also another conversation that I was having,
That I was having,
It really just struck me how different our realities were,
And the life I was living was so much different to the life they were living.
So,
And you know,
They were,
Their lives were far from the same as mine.
Now,
We can also get into comparison mode here.
But that's not what I'm talking about.
I just was really noticing the difference in realities.
So of course,
On a certain level,
I've always known this.
But these experiences really got me thinking far more deeply about it.
I have my own new perspectives on it now.
So,
You know,
We all have different careers,
Family life,
Skills,
What drives us,
Attributes,
Interests,
Joys,
Feelings,
Beliefs and perspectives.
They're absolutely unique to us.
And everybody has their own unique way and perspective.
So how can we believe that we are all in the same reality when clearly we are not?
So a great way to test this out,
A little fun exercise you can do,
Is to ask a friend,
A partner,
Or even a teenage child to show you what is on their social media feeds,
On their YouTube feed.
You could go down the whole TikTok rabbit hole too,
If you have the time.
But I can guarantee you,
What shows up for you does not show up for someone else,
Not in its entirety.
Because what you see and what is presented to you on those platforms is you.
It's your interest.
It's what you've asked to look at.
It's what you have looked at.
What you have looked at,
It's what you're interested in.
And what's on theirs is what they're interested in.
And these platforms in particular pick up everything that you're interested in and they show you more of it,
Right.
So,
And I can really guarantee you that what you see out there is very different to what another person sees.
And we are all living from our own reality and perceptions and what from what interests us.
And we are in our own little universal bubble.
If you looked at my socials and YouTube,
My books,
Audible,
What I listen to on Spotify,
You'll see a lot of spiritually based content.
A lot of,
You know,
Very inspirational leaders and authors that I follow.
And there's no dramas,
Very little violence because I don't like it.
And the music and the energetics that soothe my soul,
Really peaceful and calming.
So I know that no matter where I go on my phone,
I'm not confronted with something that I don't feel good about.
And other people have different things,
Right.
So while I follow a lot of inspirational people and,
You know,
I enjoy consuming information that enriches my life.
There might be someone else like a young mum out there who's,
Who the whole feed is filled with,
You know,
Kids things,
Toys,
Clothes,
Advice from other young mums,
All that kind of thing.
Whereas,
You know,
That's,
That's not my reality.
So it doesn't show up for me,
But it's their reality.
So it shows up for them.
And it doesn't mean other realities are right or wrong.
Nothing's right or wrong.
It's just,
It's just what is.
And I guess it's just a good demonstration of a good practical demonstration of how we are in our own realities.
Because what you see will be very different to what another person sees.
And then you can take that from those social media platforms and you can take that out into the world.
You could be walking down the street with a friend and you will see a beautiful butterfly flapping in a tree and your friend might see some rubbish on the road.
Like it's,
Or it could be vice versa.
You will see different things.
And you know,
What do they say at the scene of an accident?
You can have 10 witnesses who all saw something different.
So the topic of this talk is you are the centre of the universe.
And I just wanted to give you those practical exercises so that you can understand that you are actually the centre of your universe.
You are the one that is creating these experiences based on your beliefs and your thoughts and your feelings.
So simply the fact that you are the centre of your universe and what you are thinking,
Feeling,
Acting on,
Perceiving,
Achieving,
Wanting,
Desiring,
What you're interested in,
Playful with or find joy in,
It's unique to you.
Your reality and universe has been shaped by you and it can be changed by you at any time.
And it does change all the time.
You are not the same person from moment to moment.
Unfortunately,
When you believe that all others are more important than you,
Because that's how you've been trained,
Your reality becomes a reflection of what other people want and it will eventually feel very out of alignment.
I feel this used to happen to people more in midlife.
You know,
They call it the midlife crisis.
And I just feel,
You know,
So many of us live our lives based on what other people want,
Or what makes other people happy,
Or what's expected of us from other people.
And you get to a point in midlife where it's like,
You know what I'm done.
My life feels so out of alignment,
I need to change it somehow.
But mostly,
We don't know what it is,
We just think we're going mad or,
You know,
Having that midlife crisis,
And people call us crazy.
But I believe this is happening a lot earlier now as well.
It's not just midlife.
I believe this is happening to people in the 20s,
Even before that.
I really feel there's a beautiful theme of,
You know,
This is my life,
And what do I want it to bring for me.
And that's not a theme that was around when I was growing up,
Or the generation before me.
It was a theme of,
This is what you're meant to do,
And this is what will keep us all happy.
So the theme is changing,
And it's changing fast,
Which is fantastic.
So why wait till midlife to get into alignment with a reality that matches you and what you want?
I'll often get clients coming to me feeling very out of alignment with their life,
With a lack of purpose or drive,
Or just in total confusion about who they are and what they want to do,
And you know,
Where they want to go.
Usually it's because they've been living the reality that somebody else has expected from them,
Or has designed for them.
Or in some cases,
That they have been forced to live.
But it doesn't have to stay this way.
And you know,
When I really help them tap into what they desire in life,
And the small or sometimes big changes that they can create to be in alignment with their reality,
Wow,
The magic just sets in,
And they feel so good about the universe that they live in,
And that they're creating.
And this this is can happen for you as well.
So to recap,
You are the centre of your universe.
Does your universe,
Your reality feel good?
If not,
What doesn't feel good about it?
Is it a choice you made that is now can be transformed because you're a different person?
Is it a choice you've made to please somebody else that feels out of alignment for you now?
As soon as you make the intention and create the awareness,
You will know what is filling your cup and what is not.
And you have the absolute power to change anything in your reality.
And you have the power to do it now.
So I hope you've enjoyed that topic.
Please let me know.
Send me some comments and yeah,
If that's a topic you'd like to go further into or you know,
Let me know what's happened to you.
Alright,
Thank you for tuning in.
I'll see you next time.
