Hello,

My name is Dylan Smith and I am a teacher on Insight Timer to share with you how to live life with abundance,

Purpose,

Maximum health and freedom,

All based on the wisdom of Ayurveda,

The science of life and the laws of nature.

Aeroplane travel,

It will surreptitiously suck the life out of you.

Take a good look at yourself in the mirror after travelling,

Especially if you travel a lot,

If you even are slightly in tune with your body,

You will probably realise how much aeroplane travel accelerates your ageing process,

But seriously,

It literally sucks all the moisture out of your body,

With the humidity level in the cabins of most commercial aeroplanes just 10-20% and some as low as 1%.

This makes aeroplanes drier than the Sahara desert,

Which sits at about 25% humidity.

You may be surprised to learn the many risks associated with air travel,

For example,

One study showed how bacteria can stay alive and continue to be infectious for more than a week on the armrests,

Seat pockets,

Seats,

Bathroom doors of commercial aircrafts.

The dry air is said to contribute to their extra long life on aeroplanes.

And that's not to mention the health risks associated with jet lag,

Dehydration,

Chronic subclinical dehydration,

Swelling and fatigue.

But hold up,

Don't stop flying yet,

I love flying also,

Because I'm here right now on Insight Timer to share with you how to mitigate the ill effects of aeroplane travel.

But hey,

Not only do we need to get around,

But sometimes it can feel a little nice and lucid when the cabin pressure sucks the oxygen out of your brain.

This is why it is so easy to fall asleep on a plane.

Now for part of the solution,

Part of the solution,

Here are my air travel survival tools.

Number one,

Prehydrate.

Great ways to prehydrate is sipping plain hot water,

Hot water is able to penetrate the cells,

Dilate the cells more so the hydration actually gets into the body.

Number two,

Coconut water,

And also avoiding coffee and alcohol.

This is pre-flight,

Coffee and alcohol of course will dehydrate you,

Coconut water is great hydration.

Number two,

Lubricate.

Giving yourself an aerobatic oil massage before your shower the day you travel is a great way to lubricate and you can check the full course on Insight Timer on aeroplane travel with me to learn this specific technique of aerobatic oil massage.

Bring some lip balm with you on the plane,

You can get a natural lip balm or even just using ghee,

Clarified butter is a fantastic lip balm.

And a brain oil,

There's a specific aerobatic oil that is to be administered through the nose in order to reach the brain and this is super important to do while you're flying.

You can also put this oil in your ears to help lubricate that head area,

That brain area to also mitigate any pressurized in the ears and in the brain.

So for that also,

You can see my full course on Insight Timer on aeroplane travel.

Some other tools are watch the sunrise and sunset.

This is a great way to reinstall a circadian rhythm attuned with natural law.

This is a great way to mitigate jet lag.

So the day you travel from your destination as well as from your area of departure,

Wherever you land,

Get outside,

Watch the sunrise and sunset,

Not through a window,

Let it hit your proper eye.

That's going to trigger the hormones to allow your body clock to adjust to the local environment.

Exercise and movement during flights.

This is a super important one.

Don't be shy.

Get up,

Find a good area where there's space,

Whether it's near the bathroom or it's where the air hostess usually sit when they're departing or they're arriving.

Otherwise,

Throughout the flight,

That's usually free.

Do some stretches,

Do some yoga asanas,

Some yoga stretches.

And the last one,

Meditate more.

Meditate as much as you can during your flight.

Sometimes with a lot of meditation practices,

There is a limit to how much you can meditate because that's been advised in order to ensure that stress release is only done during that meditation.

However,

There are exceptions when you can meditate for a much longer time,

Such as being sick or ill or in hospital.

And another example is when you are flying on an airplane because it is such a stressful environment.

So feel free to meditate.

So see my course on flying on Inside Timer for more elaboration and more topics and details,

Including dealing with the mitigated recycle air,

Herbs to support your immunity,

Altitude increase and jet lag,

The best way to lubricate the brain and the most important tool for an airplane by far,

How to perform the aerobic self oil massage,

More techniques to specifically mitigate jet lag,

How to deal with hearing loss and looking after your auditory sense because the reality is in airplanes,

The decibels,

The noise is huge and how to alleviate constipation,

Which is very common due to jet lag,

Altitude shock and dehydration,

How to mitigate swelling,

Which is mainly due to a congested lymphatic system,

Which is very common in airplane travel,

Which creates a lot of issues plus much,

Much more.

So don't be scared to travel.

Just definitely it is required due to the harsh environment of an airplane to implement these recommendations for you to travel and not only arrive alive,

But arrive and thrive.
