Deep Grounding & Sowing Our New Moon Intentions
by Steven Evans
A deeply relaxing experience during which we really anchor into the body through a body scan and grounding before taking a trip to the beach at nighttime to visualize our intentions for the new moon.

You can,
When you're ready,
Just start by gently closing your eyes,
Relaxing your shoulders,
Just allowing them to drop.
Maybe feeling your hips press down to the seat beneath you,
Allowing your buttocks to just relax,
Maybe releasing any tension within the soles of your feet.
Potentially finding your spine straight so that energy can flow more readily.
And from here,
I just invite you to bring your attention to your breath for a moment without changing anything about it.
Just take a moment to get curious,
Notice the sensation as you breathe in,
As you fill your lungs up with air.
And notice that feeling as you breathe out,
As you breathe in,
As you breathe out.
And notice that feeling as you breathe out,
Maybe the temperature as the air cools out,
Cools out,
Maybe on each exhale,
Feeling yourself relaxing a little bit more into your space.
Maybe noticing the subtlety on each inhale,
The slight rise in your shoulders,
And on each exhale,
Noticing them fall.
And from here,
I'll just be guiding us through a body scan to bring us to become fully present with ourselves.
So start by bringing your awareness to your forehead,
Your temples,
Your left eye,
And your right eye,
The nose,
The lips,
The teeth,
The tongue,
The inside of the left cheek,
And the inside of the right cheek,
The chin,
The back of the neck,
And the back of the skull,
The left shoulder blade,
And the right shoulder blade,
The point between the two shoulder blades,
Maybe just letting the space relax a little more,
The left ribs,
And the right ribs,
The left arm,
And the right arm,
The left wrist,
And the right wrist,
The left palm of the hand,
And the right one,
The left thumb,
And the right thumb,
The rest of the left fingers,
And the rest on the right,
Moving your awareness to your collarbone,
Your chest,
Your navel,
Maybe bringing your awareness to just all the organs underneath your navel,
Your liver,
Your spleen,
Your intestine,
And small intestine,
The bladder,
All the organs underneath the navel,
And maybe just noticing how you feel with compassionate awareness,
Moving to the upper back,
The mid-back,
And the lower back,
The left hip,
And the right hip,
The left leg,
And the right leg,
The left knee,
And the right knee,
The left foot,
And the right foot,
Noticing all of your toes,
And the space between the toes,
And then from here bringing your awareness to the entire body,
From head to toe,
Shifting your awareness to the right half of the body,
From the top of your head down your torso,
Past your hip and all the way down to the toes,
The left half of the body,
Bringing that awareness from top to bottom,
The front half of the body,
And the back half,
And from here I just invite you to feel your connection to the earth in this moment,
Feeling your connection to the seat beneath you,
From where you are maybe envisioning at the base of your spine,
A hole like a camera lens that opens up,
And out of it comes a wide dense root of the grounding cord that goes down into the earth,
That digs deep into the earth and each layer of it,
All the way down to the earth's core,
And you can picture this grounding cord just wrapping around the earth's core three times,
And you can just take a moment to notice how you feel,
So and from here I just invite you to begin to deepen the breath for a moment,
And as you are deepening it on each inhale you are drawing in energy from the earth's core,
And on each exhale you're allowing that energy to move through any dense areas within you,
Allowing for that to drop back down into the earth,
Breathing in,
And releasing,
Letting go of anything that no longer is serving.
So and from here just taking a moment to come back to the natural breath,
Maybe just checking in on your inner landscape,
Checking in on if you feel any energetically different from when we first started,
And from here I just invite you to imagine yourself at night time,
You are out walking on a path to the beach,
And as you're on this path to the beach,
You can see that it's a new moon,
All you can see in the sky is stars,
Twinkling little lights,
And as you make it onto the beach,
You notice the sensation of the sand against your feet,
The sand between your toes,
The sensation as you take a single step,
Feeling yourself sinking into it,
Maybe noticing any other sounds or sensations within the space,
Be it the ocean crashing,
Or the sound or sight of any animals.
And soon enough,
You find yourself at the shore of this beach,
Right at the edge of the water,
You can feel the tide coming up to your feet,
The cool refreshing sensation of the ocean,
And as the tide pulls in once more,
It leaves behind a stick,
And you decide to grab the stick,
And with it,
You take a moment to write into the sand,
What your intention is for this new moon,
And so from here,
Take a moment to see yourself writing this word that you intend,
Letting it be known,
Written for the universe,
That this is your intention,
That this is what you desire,
Even feeling through this with the entirety of your heart,
And as you've written this intention into the sand,
The waves come through again,
And wash this word away,
A new trust that the universe has your back.
And from here,
I just invite you to continue breathing for a moment,
As you picture yourself looking out onto this dark ocean horizon.
As you picture yourself in this space looking out,
What would it look like to hold yourself with loving compassion?
Can envision this in whatever way you'd like,
Maybe seeing yourself physically holding yourself,
Or being surrounded by a bubble of light,
And from here,
I just invite you to picture yourself parting ways with the beach,
Taking a moment of gratitude for all the ocean,
For all this new moon has had to offer,
Picturing yourself walking away from the beach,
Back onto the path from which you came,
Growing smaller and smaller,
Feeling yourself returning back to your body,
Becoming present again from the top of your head to the soles of your feet,
And from here,
We'll be doing a few affirmation breaths.
On each inhale,
We'll be breathing in I am,
And on each exhale,
We will breathe out peace.
So when you're ready,
I invite you to breathe in through the back of the heart,
I am,
And exhaling,
Peace.
Breathing in,
I am,
And exhaling,
Peace.
Breathing in,
I am,
And exhaling,
Peace.
And from here,
I just invite you to continue breathing in this manner,
Maybe even taking a quick second pause as you get to the top of the breath,
Even noticing the quality of stillness as we take those pauses.
On each inhale,
Just feeling the relaxing sensation of the air moving through your body as you fill yourself up with peace.
I am peace.
And from here,
You can return to the natural breath.
Maybe notice if you've experienced any shift within your body,
Maybe take note of where.
And from here,
I just invite you to ask yourself,
What is one deeply loving thing I can do for myself this week?
Notice what intuitively wants to come up without judging or pushing it away.
And from here,
Within your mind's eye,
I just invite you to repeat the affirmation,
I tend to my needs with grace and ease.
I tend to my needs with grace and ease.
And as you allow yourself to repeat this affirmation,
I just invite you to open yourself up to the sound of the tongue drum playing.
So do so so and from here,
I just invite you to come back to full presence with your body.
Taking a brief moment of gratitude just for your breath,
Your connection to the earth,
Your body and spirit.
And from here,
When you're ready,
I just invite you to start by making gentle movements.
And when you're ready,
You can gently open the eyes.
