This is the first process that we're going to teach you today.
This process in and of itself can be a technique to help you throughout the day just to get centered and aware.
The very first part of this process is to get centered.
Now different people get centered in different ways.
Some people like to close their eyes and to draw their attention down inside the body.
Some of my clients that practice yoga or practice other meditation disciplines will imagine centering their attention two inches below the belly button,
Bringing their attention to the center of the body.
Some of my clients use their breath as they breathe in and breathe out to center their attention,
Allowing a centering to happen with every breath in and every breath out.
Next,
Become aware.
Aware of your entire body.
Sending awareness up to the top of your head.
Down your face,
Down the chest,
Down the trunk of the body,
All the way down to the tips of the toes.
Allow your awareness to fill the entire space of your body,
Noticing the tips of your fingers all the way down to the tips of your toes.
Allowing yourself to be both centered and aware.
Allowing this awareness to ground you into the present moment,
Right here,
Right now,
This moment in time.
And while you become fully present,
Right here,
Right now,
Open up the field of your awareness with your ears.
Certainly you can hear the sound of my voice and yet you can also expand out your hearing and hear the other sounds around you.
In your mind,
Imagine your awareness expanding out,
Reaching out to embrace as much of your environment as you can.
The mind in a way that allows you to open your senses and expand the awareness within.
Now when you're ready,
Open your eyes and allow yourself to remain centered,
Aware and present while you hold your awareness expanded and open.
Opening the eyes and coming back to the now,
Fully alert,
Aware,
Present and open.
You're a cape,
Centered,
Aware,
Present and expanding your awareness.
And anytime you need a moment of centering throughout your day,
The cape process can help you quickly find a place of peace.
