Change your perspective now.
The challenge now is to identify where are we standing and where are we heading?
On which direction is our inner compass sailing our vessel?
Where are we now in connection with our circumventing reality?
The first recommendation we receive is,
Who am I?
Who do you think you are?
This is quite important for the pending analysis we have in this challenge.
The sense of who you are will determine what you perceive as your needs.
Such needs determine what matters to you in this life.
And if we fail to acquire what matters to you,
Then we will be upset and disturbed constantly.
The other way to execute the exercise is to ask,
What are the things that upset and disturb me?
We have tools in this chapter to analyze this situation.
But Tolle says that when small and simple things have the power to disturb you,
Then who you think you are is also small.
All things are small because all things are transient,
Tolle says.
If we can accept the situation and become one with it rather than separate ourselves from it,
Then we have this capacity of inner awareness.
So we can realize that no person or situation is our enemy.
The way we react to people or situations is the best indicator of how deeply we know ourselves.
We have the opportunity to stop focusing on other pitfalls,
Appearances,
Unconsciousness and idiotic actions.
We can separate ourselves from any situation to avoid our resultant unconscious reaction.
Their error or false become their identity.
This means you will see only the ego in them,
And that strengthens the ego in yourself.
Who is looking at the ego?
The ego in you,
Says Tolle,
Meaning that we are the ones that are identified with other people's problems.
Instead of focusing in our life instead,
Very unconscious people experience their ego through its reflection in others.
At this stage,
You may also notice that you were doing to others what you thought others were doing to you.
But you require no belief,
Because every belief is an obstacle to your true understanding of who you are.
We are who we are,
But we can detect how we react to events in our life and how the ego manifests taking control of our life events.
And if we are sincere,
We know about this.
We know how we react to the policemen,
How we react to the people walking on the street blocking the traffic.
We know how to react with someone that is aggressive driving in the highway.
We perfectly know when we receive the hamburger that we didn't ask for.
We perfectly know ourselves.
So we need to separate.
We need to separate and stay inside ourselves.
Wait for some seconds.
Know ourselves instead of just reacting to the exterior.
Because our inner perspective from the world is exactly the opportunity we have of the analysis at hand in this process.
How do I see myself and how do I see the world?
But we belong to the world,
So we need to connect with others,
With society.
So well my friends,
This is the opportunity to work to change our perspective of our present.
To work on our inner awareness of yourself.
Enjoy.
