Sit With Worry, Give Away Worry

Sometimes our heads are full of uncertainty, possibilities, and worries, and it's hard to be with. In this practice we connect to a broader perspective and the greater Universe, inviting some prana into our being. We energize our physical body then our mind and emotional system. We see if we can allow those difficulties to be, whatever they are. We try giving our worries to the Universe to resolve where we cannot and experience gratitude for help, support, and guidance.

Let's find a comfortable space for our body.

So putting our arms and legs somewhere they can be comfortable.

Inhaling and lengthening our spine a little bit.

So a little bit taller.

And exhaling and softening a little bit.

Finding somewhere we can rest.

Head balanced on the top of our spine.

Pausing.

And seeing how it feels to stop and bring our attention inwards.

And that might be restful or it might be an occasion for our mind to find our worries and concerns.

Our to-do list.

Let's notice whatever happens.

So let's relax our body a little bit.

Allowing the muscles in our face to relax first.

Our forehead and those around our eyes.

Our jaw becoming softer.

Our scalp.

Our neck.

Allowing our shoulders to rest back and down.

Our arms and our hands resting somewhere they can be still.

If we're seated.

Using a minimum amount of energy to hold our body up.

Spine tall and upright but not tense.

And if we're lying we can just let it all go.

Legs soft and heavy.

Body a little more comfortable.

Let's find some mental relaxation now.

By taking ourselves to a place we love to be.

Imaginary or real.

And we'll enjoy being there for a few moments.

Imagining it in as much detail as we can.

The sights.

The sounds.

The smells.

Any physical sensations.

Now we're feeling more relaxed.

Let's allow our breath to connect us with a broader perspective.

With a wider universe.

Let's inhale up out through the crown of our head.

Into the universe.

Beyond.

Vast space above us.

With a comfortable exhalation our attention comes all the way down.

Back through our crown.

Down our central column.

And out into the earth beneath us.

Inhale up into infinity.

Exhale down into the earth.

Comfortable breath.

We connect with heaven.

The universe.

And mother earth.

And we connect those two things to each other through our being.

Let's allow that connection to be like a conduit.

A wire for universal energy to flow into us.

So breathing in now.

Energy's going to flow into us.

Into our centre.

To the centre of our heart centre.

Both from above and below.

All directions.

From the entire universes.

Because we are not separate.

We are part of this system.

And as we become aware of that it's like we place ourselves back into the universe.

Rather than that separate.

And we're just going to be a part of that.

Rather than that separate.

Lonely being.

Let's connect to all that is.

Our heart centre.

Becoming more radiant as we breathe in this universal energy.

Prana,

Chi,

Love,

Light.

And I invite you to direct this energy.

Now we are connected to this source of unlimited energy.

We can put it to some useful purpose.

So let's imagine it filling our body.

Our physical body.

Inhaling the energy into our heart centre.

Exhale it's flowing out around our body.

Filling our physical body.

Touching every cell.

Even every atom.

It's all becoming a little more harmonious.

A little more luminous.

Energised.

Healthier.

I invite you now to invite this energy into our mind.

Imagine it flowing up our central column into our head.

Filling this part of our being.

And that may feel good.

But it may also activate our worries.

Because in a sense it tries to make them visible so we can heal them.

So if these worries come up.

Our fears.

Our concerns.

Are we able to sit with them?

To feel the discomfort and know we are still safe.

So our thoughts can trigger uncomfortable emotions.

Let's allow that light,

Love,

Energy,

Prana,

Into our emotional body.

Invite it in.

And that might be in our chest,

In our belly.

However we want to imagine it.

So we are energising,

Enlightening both our mind and our emotions.

At the same time,

If the worries are visible,

If the discomfort is there,

Can we sit with it and feel it which takes courage.

And it may feel new.

But it will allow the feelings to leave.

Ask them to leave.

We sit with them until they naturally leave.

Because they will.

They dissipate.

And it's only when we ignore them that they tend to hang around longer.

So that may be our experience that they'll be there for ages.

But maybe that's because we weren't attending to them.

This universal energy is what the material world is built out of.

And it is not limited by the material world.

So imagine it flowing in as potential,

Opportunity.

Things that we,

In our small physical form,

Could not possibly achieve.

Are we able to hand control of these worries,

Fears,

Over to the universe?

And ask something much more powerful than we are to deal with them.

To look after them,

Please.

The energy of wanting that help keeps that help there.

So let's be grateful that it is being resolved as if it were already resolved.

We get the sense that that problem,

Those fears,

Are already resolved.

Let that wash over you.

It's from that perspective that we offer these worries.

Request help from our higher power.

It's already on its way.

And we can rest assured,

In trust,

That it's on its way.

And I know that's not our natural state.

But trust builds as we cultivate it.

And so that is something we may choose to cultivate.

In a dangerous situation,

In a precarious situation,

For example,

In a plane,

In a plane,

Or in a crisis moment,

We may realize that we are in God's hands already.

We sit in a universe we cannot control.

But of course it is also true at all other times as well.

That is why we connect with all that is.

That is why we cultivate trust,

To build that relationship,

To feel that gratitude,

To be held,

Supported and guided by a conscious universe that loves us.

Noticing before we leave this place how we feel now.

Good,

Bad or indifferent.

Sit in it.

Sit with it.

Love yourself through it if you need to.

Be grateful it will all pass,

Change,

Grow.

And so we take a few deeper breaths,

Allowing that energy to start to mobilize our body.

Fingers and toes,

Hands and feet,

Wrists and ankles,

All getting the urge to move and having a little stretch.

Arms and legs,

Taking any stretch that feels comfortable to help us back into the regular waking consciousness world.
