Hello,

My name is April and welcome to this very special meditation practice.

This is a practice based on the loving kindness meditation,

But this is a self-compassion meditation.

We all need a little bit of special love every now and then.

And peace and love starts with ourselves always first.

So in this practice,

We're going to be focusing on giving ourselves a little bit of that loving kindness and really focusing on that.

So if you've been struggling and a lot of us do with our thoughts,

Our feelings,

How we look,

How we appear,

The world around us,

Any kind of nervousness or comparison or confidence,

This is a great practice to circle back to quite often.

And I will admit I use this very often.

It's one of those that just reminds me,

Helps me remember who I really am and the value that I bring to the world as a being of light.

Settle into whatever position you like.

You can sit,

You can lie down,

Make yourself as comfortable as possible however you like.

Take a couple of breaths to wiggle around and settle in.

Palms up or palms down onto your lap or by your side.

And then whenever you feel ready,

Go ahead and soften your gaze or close your eyes if that's appropriate for you today.

Let's take these first few moments to check in with yourself.

Scanning down from the top of your head to the bottoms of your feet.

Noticing those places or spaces that may need a little extra love,

A little extra kindness today.

No judgment,

No criticism,

Just kindness.

And then taking a moment or two to check in with how you're feeling and your thoughts.

Maybe you've been having a lot of negative thoughts or a lot of feelings,

Sadness or comparison or disillusionment.

Not good,

Not bad.

Non-judgmental,

Just noting where you began this practice at and saying it's okay,

It's okay to be here.

It's okay to feel these things,

To have these thoughts.

For the body to have a sense of sadness or comparison or disillusionment.

Not good,

Not bad.

Non-judgmental.

Just noting where you began this practice at and saying it's okay,

It's okay to be here.

It's okay to feel these things,

To have these thoughts.

For the body to have things going on that may not be absolutely what we want or expect it to do.

No expectations here.

Gently draw your attention,

Your awareness to the center of your chest,

That space of the heart.

This is where compassion and acceptance and love and joy all come from.

Imagine maybe a little bit of warm light here,

Feeling warmth in this space.

As we draw our attention to this space,

Maybe it does become a little bit warmer,

A little bit brighter.

With our awareness on this space,

Mindfully present with whatever is going on with ourselves,

Repeat these phrases softly to yourself.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be at peace.

May I be kind to myself.

And may I love myself just as I am.

Let these words wash through and over you,

Sending those words with that energy to all those spaces in the body that maybe needed a little extra love,

A little extra breath.

Here again,

Repeating softly to yourself.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be at peace.

May I be kind to myself.

And may I love myself just as I am.

Feeling the energy of the heart spreading ever further.

Self love,

Self compassion,

Self care.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be at peace.

May I be kind to myself.

And may I love myself just as I am.

Feeling the warmth of these words as it spreads to every part of your body.

Letting these words settle into your mind,

Your thoughts.

Let your emotions become those of self love.

You are worthy.

You are perfect in this moment right here,

Right now.

You are beautiful.

You are brilliant.

You are a shining light in this world.

Repeating one last time.

May I be happy.

May I be healthy.

May I be at peace.

May I be kind to myself.

And may I love myself just as I am.

Sensing the warm hug of these words as they surround you.

Sends your awareness here again on that heart space.

Filling that love spilling out for you.

Giving yourself that care and love and kindness and well wishes that you so richly deserve.

Bring hands together,

Placing them over that heart space.

Thank you so much for sharing this practice with me today.

I wish you all of these things and so much more.

Have a wonderful week.
