In your quiet space,
Place yourself in your most comfortable Shavasana or relaxation pose.
Take a few moments to assess the body,
Making any and all necessary adjustments before lying completely still and allowing the body to surrender to Shavasana,
To surrender to stillness.
Move your awareness to your forehead.
Relax the forehead.
Relax the eyes.
Relax the cheeks.
Relax the tongue back into the mouth.
Relax the jaw.
Relax the shoulders.
Relax the arms all the way down into the fingertips.
Relax the legs all the way down into the tips of the toes.
Relax from the collarbones all the way down to the hips.
Relax the buttocks.
Relax the lower back,
The middle back,
The upper back.
Relax the whole spine.
Relax the shoulder blades.
Relax the whole front of the body and the whole back of the body.
Relax the whole body completely.
The whole head.
The whole body.
And gently withdraw your conscious awareness to your breathing,
Observing the breath moving in your abdomen,
Observing and feeling the natural rise of the belly on inhalation,
The gentle fall of the belly on exhalation,
Observing that effortless flow from one breath into the other,
Bearing witness to the miracle that is your life force and key to your existence,
The breath.
And with this conscious awareness of your breath,
Allow the thought modifications or frittis of the mind to settle with the natural rhythm of the breath,
Easing the mind into a sense of calm and one pointedness.
And gently move your awareness to the root chakra,
The mulladara chakra,
And perceive a sense of being firmly grounded in body and thought.
Allow this feeling of security to bring you peace of mind that all is well in your world,
That you are safe,
You are grounded,
You are steadfast.
Take a few breaths,
Absorbing this observation,
The sensation,
This affirmation.
Slowly shift your consciousness to the sacral chakra,
The svadhisthana chakra,
And have this awareness of mutual understanding,
Respect and harmony with yourself and those you relate to on a regular basis in your everyday coming and going.
Feel with absolute conviction that your relations are based on truth and clear communication,
Allowing you to be the best you can be to those you love and serve.
Stay with this observation for a few breaths.
Mindfully take your focus to the navel or manipura chakra and begin to sense your self-confidence blossom with assertiveness,
Absorb into your being the power of self-worth and that you can achieve all you set your mind to because you believe in your self-worth,
Knowing that the divine did not give us a sense of timidity or fear,
But gifted us with courage,
Conviction and love and you are loved.
Stay with this affirmation and truly feel this sense of self-belief,
Self-worth and that all fear is turned into pure love.
Move your awareness to the heart center or anahata chakra and immediately feel the healing energy and blissful nature of divine love,
Love for others and love for yourself.
Note how this energy radiates through your body and mind making you feel at peace with yourself and the universe.
Feel with absolute certainty the connection to love,
The love that you radiate with every single cell of your being.
Savour this sensation for a few moments.
Gently allow your mind to centre on the throat chakra,
The vishuddha chakra.
Become aware of how the neck and throat soften with each breath and visualise clarity and confidence in your communication both in intention and verbal communication.
Positively embrace this sense of truthfulness that reverberates with the sound of your voice.
Know that every word you speak is confident and true.
Slowly take your observation to the eyebrow centre,
The anya chakra.
Embrace a sense of calm and comprehension that soothes over your thoughts,
Feeling creativity and growth in intellect and an abundance of wisdom filling your mind.
And see,
Know that the path ahead is filled with clarity.
Allow the grace of this to comfort you.
Softly move your attention to the crown chakra,
The sahasrara chakra,
Acknowledging with love and respect the connection to the divine,
To the connection of your higher self.
Be fully present with this realisation for a few moments.
Gently and slowly shift your awareness from the sahasrara chakra,
That connection to divine and higher self,
To your anya chakra,
The eyebrow centre,
Where you clearly see the path ahead,
Where you are filled with absolute clarity and wisdom.
And moving from this place of wisdom to your throat chakra,
The vishuddha chakra,
Where every single word you utter is true and filled with self confidence.
And move from this place of confident,
Truthful communication to your heart space,
The anahata chakra,
Where you radiate pure,
Divine,
Compassionate love and where you invite pure,
Divine,
Compassionate light into your being.
Move from this place of compassionate,
Radiant love to your navel centre,
The manipura chakra,
Where you are filled with absolute conviction of your self worth and where you know that you can achieve and attain anything you set your mind to because all fear is dissolved into love,
Knowing that you can do all you set your mind to.
And moving from this place of self worth to a place where you have complete unity and harmony with all your relationships,
That place that is your sacral centre,
The svaristhana chakra,
Every relationship is filled with harmony and balance.
And move from this place of harmony to that place where you are rooted and grounded,
Your mulladhara chakra,
Where you feel completely and utterly safe in every respect.
Feel completely in balance throughout your whole being.
And slowly,
Gently,
Become aware of your physical body,
Become aware of the space that you occupy on the mat,
Become aware of your presence.
And slowly begin to reawaken the physical body as you wiggle your toes,
Gently rub your thumbs over your fingertips,
Slowly take a nice deep breath in and exhale naturally.
Your yoga nidra is now complete and allow yourself to acknowledge the blessings of body and mind and offer heartfelt thanks for your wellbeing.
