Welcome to this guided meditation.
My name is yogi Brian Find a comfortable spot sitting down either on a chair Or on a meditation cushion or a pillow Legs crossed Sitting tall with the spine straight Chin slightly tucked Palms in the lap either facing up or facing down Meditation will give relief for addictions No matter what addiction you're struggling with right now This will help Slowly close your eyes And pay attention to your breath Natural breath in and out And allow yourself to settle here Allow yourself to arrive Clear away any to-do lists for your day Wipe those to-do lists clear Maybe visualize a chalkboard And erasing the chalkboard so it's a clear slate Clean slate Nothing to do or control Nothing to do or control Nothing to do or control Allow yourself to arrive to the present moment Allow yourself to breathe your natural breath Give yourself permission to relax Noticing the breath Noticing the breath Witness the inhale And the exhale And observing the breath,
Noticing the breath Notice if it's smooth and steady Or maybe choppy and shallow Without controlling the breath,
Just notice the breath,
Observe the breath And as you're observing the breath,
You notice the breath naturally smoothing out Allowing the body and the breath to return to its natural state Inhale And exhale Each and every breath you take you relax even more and more Each and every breath you take you flood the body with relaxation Giving your body permission to relax,
Whole body relaxes now Give yourself permission to relax Saying the word to yourself,
Relax Relax Relax Now being the witness to the body,
Observe the body,
Notice the body Starting to relax,
Starting to slow down Calm and steady And allowing the thoughts to just be,
Allow the thoughts to arrive Nothing to do or control with the thoughts,
Just allow the thoughts to be Now this urge,
This addiction you have,
This impulse I want you to notice where it's coming from in the body Visualize yourself pointing to where this sensation is coming from in the body After you point to the sensation in your body,
I want you to visualize a color coming from this area of the body Visualize a color,
First color any color you see Seeing this color in the body,
This urge,
This addiction,
This impulse I want you to visualize pulling this color out of your body with both of your hands Pull this color out of your body with both of your hands Keep pulling until the color has exited your body,
Is removed from your body Keep pulling this color out of your body until there is no more color in your body Once you have this color out of your body,
Hold it with your hands Make it into a ball,
Make it into the shape of a ball It can be a small ball,
Large ball,
Any size of the ball,
Whatever you visualize,
See this color,
Feel this color in your hands,
In a ball It can be a small ball,
Large ball,
Any size of the ball,
Whatever you visualize,
See this color,
Feel this color in your hands,
In a ball Just notice how your body feels,
Holding this ball,
Seeing this color,
This is your addiction,
This is your impulse,
This is your urge Now take this ball with both of your hands and make it into a picture frame,
Any size picture frame you like You're looking at this picture frame,
You're looking at this color Now with one of your fingers,
Write in this picture frame what this addiction is giving to you Maybe it's security,
Love,
Sense of self worth,
What is the lesson,
What is this addiction giving to you?
Write it in the picture frame with one of your fingers Take your time Once you have your lesson written down,
What this addiction is providing for you Take a look at it,
Notice how your body feels Now take this picture frame,
Put it over your head,
Allow it to hover over your head Allow it to hover over your head,
Now grab the picture frame and throw it like a frisbee behind you It hits a wall behind you,
Sticks to the wall,
Now nail this picture frame behind you This addiction is behind you,
This picture frame is behind you,
Not yet but in just a moment I want you to test it,
I want you to see if you can bring back this picture frame,
Bring back your addiction Not yet but in just a moment,
You're going to try everything you can to bring back this picture frame You won't be able to Not yet but in just a moment,
I'm going to count from 5 down to 1 When I hit 1,
You're going to try to bring that picture frame back but you just can't do it 5,
4,
3,
2,
1,
Try to bring back that picture frame Notice you can't Great job Notice how your body feels,
Sense of release,
Sense of freedom,
Sense of clarity Knowing you're exactly where you need to be in the present moment Knowing you're doing the right thing by meditating and coming back to the present moment Saying a mantra,

As a recovering addict with over 20 years of sobriety, I found this to be very powerful. I recently quit smoking and this helped with that as well. Thank you brother.

Creative visualization that I was able to really get into and was able to vividly see and image. I did this driving home and it also helped me go from a more panicked state to very calm and relaxed. Working every day to quit my addiction and this is a visualization Im adding to my playlist so I can come back again and again. I’ve recently discovered your yoga nidra videos for sleep and they’re super effective. I don’t ever remember much beyond the intro because I’m asleep so quickly. I enjoy your content a lot and your page will definitely be something I can count on to be effective. Nice soothing and steady voice too.

Interesting meditation. I liked the imagery, music, voice, the hammering sound was different but ok. Namaste

That was day one of my journey to sobriety. I have made the choice to live clean and with peace. I have to say that was an amazing meditation with a simple but powerful message that it starts by putting your addiction behind you. Thank you so much I feel this is the start I needed. Geoff 😌
