Hello and welcome to this morning gratitude meditation practice.

For this practice we will work on cultivating a sense of warmth and appreciation for the many blessings within our lives.

Hopefully the gratitude we cultivate here will be something which you can go on to carry with you throughout your day.

So,

Coming into your meditation position,

Maybe lying down or seated with a dignified posture.

Take a few moments now to check in with yourself,

Notice how you're feeling.

And if it feels possible,

Just relax a little more into your body,

Releasing any tension,

Maybe your face,

Your shoulders.

Relax your tummy and just be.

And now we'll take three deep mindful breaths to clear the stagnant air from our sleep.

So,

Breathing fully in and releasing.

And breathing in and releasing.

And last time,

Breathing in and letting go.

And now let's begin by taking a moment to firstly appreciate ourselves for being here.

Say a quiet thank you to yourself for taking the time to cultivate some positive energy,

Which will help to serve others we encounter today and will help ourselves.

Thank you.

And now let's take a moment to appreciate our bodies,

These phenomenal vessels which carry us through our day.

All the incredible feats they're capable of,

How our bodies cooperate and serve us in every way possible.

Thank you body.

And if it feels right for you,

Give yourself a gentle hug.

Now consider where you are right now.

The roof over your head,

Your home,

The place of rest you may have just come from.

Consider how all these things comfort you,

How they protect you.

It may even seem unimaginable to live without these things.

Let's just spend the next few moments saying a quiet thank you for our homes.

And what will today bring for you?

You can thank your job for all the engagement and support that it offers you.

Or be thankful for free time you have for restoring.

Thank you for today.

Who will you encounter today?

Consider the people you will meet with their own stories and lives.

And bring maybe two or three of them into your mind's eye.

And just from where we are here meditating,

Let's just wish well upon these people.

And we'll use the metta bhavana practice phrase,

May you be well,

May you be happy,

May you be free from suffering.

May you be well,

May you be happy,

May you be free from suffering.

And thank you.

A thank you for simply existing and being part of your life.

And we'll close the meditation with some simple gratitude once again towards ourselves.

Thank you for your effort to better yourself and the world around you.

And may you be well,

May you be happy,

And may you be free from suffering.

Thank you.
