I'm on a real mission to help as many people as I can be able to meditate and to make meditation an available tool for everyone.
So I've just had a really busy day today for various reasons.
I didn't do my meditation this morning and I'm feeling the brunt of it this afternoon.
So when we have days like this it's really important that we just check in for a few minutes just to recalibrate ourselves and to realign ourselves.
And even on the days when we have had our meditation in the morning,
Just that few minutes in the afternoon can make so much difference for the rest of our day.
Our evenings are enjoyed at a greater level,
We have better evenings with our friends and family and so on if we've just taken that time to sit in stillness at some point throughout the day.
So I really encourage you just to spend a few minutes daily in the afternoon just to have that midway reset point of the day.
So wherever you are just find yourself sitting somewhere nicely comfortable,
Straighten the back,
Straighten your spine,
Just gently roll the shoulders back and allow the eyelids to gently close.
Just imagine that you're closing your eyes to go to sleep.
I know I'm feeling really tired at the moment so that idea of going to sleep just feels really soothing,
Really nice.
Just take a big deep breath in to let it all go and just feel your body breathe a sigh of relief.
You might even want to breathe a sigh of relief.
Just allow the body to relax as you do so,
Feel all your muscles let go,
You'll never think to surrender.
Just gently scan your body,
Noticing any areas of discomfort or tightness.
Start at the top of your head and slowly work your way down through your face,
Through your neck,
Through your shoulders,
Into the chest,
The belly,
The buttocks,
Down into the thighs,
The knees,
The calves,
The ankles,
The toes,
All the way down.
If you've got any areas I'm holding onto,
I myself keep noticing my shoulder clenching so if you have anything like that just really consciously let it go,
To give it permission to relax.
Just feel yourself go.
Just connect to your breath,
Follow its journey,
And it travelling upwards and down again.
Feel the sensation of the breath travelling up and down the body.
Let it flow.
Just notice the sensations in your body,
The body is becoming softer just within this few minutes.
It's all it takes is a few minutes.
Again just gently check for any tightness and anything you're holding onto.
Just going to put it aside just for a couple of moments.
Breathe into that.
Just notice how your body is just becoming more relaxed again,
Coming back to its point of equilibrium.
There's more power in that,
More beauty in that.
Feel your body is like this,
Thank you.
Thank you for giving it this time,
This moment.
And when you're ready to open the eyes,
Take a big stretch.
Just feel how good that feels,
Just a few moments just to reset,
That's all it takes.
