Imagine you're holding a rope.
On the other end of the rope is something you've been gripping tightly.
Maybe a plan,
An expectation,
A worry,
A version of how you thought things should be.
You've been pulling,
Tugging,
Trying to control it.
Now,
Notice what happens when you loosen your grip.
The rope doesn't snap.
The world doesn't end.
Instead,
There's space.
Freedom.
Surrender isn't about losing.
It's about releasing what was never meant to be forced.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
And as you exhale,
Let your hands relax,
Your shoulders drop,
Your body soften.
You don't have to hold on so tightly.
Surrender.
Surrender.
Let's begin.
We'll use the breath to help release what no longer serves you.
Okay,
So inhale deeply through your nose.
Feel your body expanding,
Making space.
Hold for a moment.
Let the air settle.
Exhale with a sigh,
Letting go of resistance.
Again,
Inhale.
Breathe in ease.
Hold.
Let it settle.
Exhale.
Soften.
Release.
With each exhale,
Imagine something loosening.
It might be your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Your hands.
Just let everything soften.
Breathe in ease.
Breathe out control.
Breathe in trust.
Breathe out resistance.
There is nothing you need to hold on to in this moment.
Just let yourself be.
Now,
Let's imagine yourself standing at the edge of a river.
The water is calm,
Flowing gently,
Steady,
And endless.
Step in the river.
Feel the coolness wrap around you.
Now let yourself float.
At first,
You may try to control where you go.
But what happens if you stop fighting the current?
Let yourself drift.
Let the water carry you.
Feel the sensation of trusting the flow,
Of being supported,
Of allowing life to move without forcing.
What are you holding on to that no longer is needed?
A worry?
An expectation?
The need to control something out of your hands?
Picture placing it in the water.
Watch it drift away,
Carried effortlessly downstream.
It is gone now,
Out of your hands.
You are lighter now,
Freer.
Maybe a smile comes onto your face.
Being proud of your ability to just let go.
Let the river take anything that no longer serves you.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Notice how your body feels.
Maybe softer,
Maybe lighter.
Surrender is not a one-time act.
It's a practice.
A choice you can make,
Moment by moment,
To let go and trust.
Take one last deep breath in with ease and trust.
And exhale,
Breathe out control,
Breathe out resistance.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes and get ready for whatever is out there for you.
Not trying to control it,
Not trying to force anything.
Keep being you.
Stay present and stay humble.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
