This meditation is a guided inner journey to help you access your own internal sanctuary.

It is an invitation to a space of peace,

Softness and self-trust.

It's great for calming the nervous system and helping you to reconnect with your inner resources.

So let's begin.

Welcome.

Let this be your time.

A space to come home to yourself.

Begin by settling into a comfortable position.

You might be seated or lying down.

Whatever helps your body feel supported.

Let your spine be gently upright if you're sitting or fully relaxed if you're resting.

Allow your hands to land where they naturally want to rest.

Close your eyes if that feels okay or soften your gaze and let the room blur.

Take a few slow natural breaths just enough to remind your system,

I'm here now.

I'm safe enough to soften.

Bring your awareness to the places in your body that meet the surface beneath you.

Notice the support.

Notice what's beneath your seat,

Your legs,

Your back.

Feel gravity holding you right here.

Allow your breath to move at its own pace.

Inhale and exhale.

Nothing forced,

Nothing fixed,

Just being with.

With each breath,

Being with each breath.

And as you breathe,

Imagine settling into just a little more of yourself.

Down and in.

Down and in.

Now in your mind's eye,

Begin to imagine a doorway.

This door leads to your inner sanctuary.

This is a place that belongs to only you.

A place of deep safety,

Of peace and nourishment.

You don't have to build it,

Just allow it to come.

Let the door gently open.

What do you notice first?

Light?

Color?

Temperature?

Begin to step into this space slowly.

This is a space where nothing is asked of you.

Where you are completely safe to rest,

To feel,

To receive.

What does this space look like?

Are you indoors or are you outside?

Is it a temple,

A garden,

A nest,

Or a cave?

Notice the textures,

The temperature.

Perhaps as you inhale,

Notice the way it smells.

Notice the way your body responds simply by being here.

You might feel your breath deepen.

You might notice your heart soften.

You might experience that your edges melt.

This is your sanctuary.

It exists within you,

Always.

You might choose to sit,

Lie down,

Or simply explore.

Perhaps there's a blanket,

A tree,

A sound or an object that calls you.

Let yourself receive what this place is offering.

If your mind wanders or questions arise,

That's okay.

Just gently return to what feels safe,

Comforting,

Quiet.

If it feels right,

Invite a resource into the space.

Someone or something that brings comfort.

It might be a guide,

An animal,

A scent,

A word or a felt sense.

Let it come naturally.

You don't need to do anything.

Just receive.

You are held here in your sanctuary,

Exactly as you are.

You don't need to be calm.

You don't need to be perfect.

You just need to be.

As we begin to close this journey,

Know that your sanctuary is always within reach.

It's not something you have to earn.

It's something you carry.

Begin to gently return now to your physical body.

Notice once again the support beneath you.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

Soften your jaw and your shoulders.

Let your breath deepen once again.

Let your body begin to reawaken.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze,

Bringing with you the felt sense of your sanctuary.

Carry it softly,

Quietly into the rest of your day or your night,

Breathing once again.

Thank you for being here,

And thank you for being here in your sanctuary with you.
