This gentle meditation invites you to reconnect with your inner child — the part of you that holds joy, curiosity, playfulness, and emotional openness. Through soft breathing and visualization, you’ll create a sense of safety, open the heart space, and welcome back the lighter, more spontaneous aspects of yourself. Perfect if you’re feeling disconnected, overly serious, or longing for more ease and joy in your life. No experience needed — just bring your breath and a willingness to listen inward.

Welcome to this meditation to reconnect with your inner child.

Find a comfortable place,

A place where you feel relaxed,

Can be sitting down,

Can be laying down,

Relaxed yet alert and start by taking a slow deep breath in through the nose and a long soft breath out through the mouth.

Once more,

Slow deep breath in through the nose and a long soft breath out through the mouth.

Let your body settle into the surface beneath you.

There's nothing you need to do,

Nowhere you need to go.

And with every exhale,

Feel yourself arriving more fully in this moment.

Feel how the breath is moving in and out of your body and gently allow it to become natural again,

Easy,

Flowing,

Kind.

Now if it feels good for you,

Bring one hand to your heart and feel the warmth beneath your palm.

Breathe gently into this space as if your heart itself were breathing.

Let the chest soften.

Let the breath create a feeling of safety,

Of permission to feel.

Your heart remembers joy even when life became serious.

Now as you rest,

Imagine yourself walking through a peaceful landscape,

Maybe a field,

A forest,

A beach.

The air is warm,

Safe,

Familiar.

And in the distance,

You notice a small figure,

It's your younger self.

And notice how they move,

Carefree,

Open,

Radiant.

Walk toward them slowly until you can see their face.

See their innocence,

Their light,

Their wildness.

You might notice how much they still live within you.

Your breath connects you,

Adult and child,

Both parts of the same soul.

Now ask your younger self,

What do you need from me or what do you want me to remember?

Can you reach out and hold them,

Not as someone broken,

But as someone beautiful?

Let love move through you,

A love that says,

You're safe now,

I remember you,

You're free to play again.

Let them know they never have to disappear again,

They can laugh,

Dance,

Play,

Explore through you.

Then as you breathe,

Imagine this child merging gently into your heart space.

You can feel their spark inside you,

Their wonder,

Their creativity and joy.

Becoming part of your breath again.

Their laughter becomes your lightness,

Their curiosity becomes your openness.

Feel their joy settling into your breath,

Into your body,

Into your nervous system.

Rest in that feeling,

You are whole,

Both wise and innocent,

Grounded and free.

Breathe it in and let it stay.

Place both hands over your heart now,

Take a deep breath in and a slow breath out.

And whisper inwardly,

You are welcome here,

You are safe with me.

You can stay here for as long as you'd like and when you're ready,

Gently return to your space,

Bringing your softness,

Your joy,

Your inner child with you.
