In this meditation, you cultivate the felt sense of light in the pineal gland and feel light flowing down through your vagus nerve, down through your brain stem, heart, abdomen, and out through your whole body and the whole Field around you. Focusing on the light in the center of your brain can be a powerful portal to feeling your whole body as full of light and feeling the light body which underlies and gives rise to the physical body, as well as experiencing yourself as a being of Light filled with the clarity, lightness, and joy of the One Life we all share.

Eye of Light,

Body of Light This practice is suggested by a verse in Matthew 6.

22,

Which says,

The lamp of the body is the eye.

If therefore thine eye be single,

Thy whole body shall be filled with light.

In our practice,

We'll focus on what this single eye means in a felt sense,

In terms of experiencing ourselves as expressions of light.

From a physiological perspective,

The thalamus and pineal gland in the center of the brain are associated with receiving light signals through the eyes,

And with our cycles of wakefulness and sleep regulated through the release of melatonin.

So in a physiological and an esoteric sense,

The pineal gland can be viewed and experienced as a liquid crystal transducer of light.

Cultivating the felt sense of light in the pineal gland,

You can then feel light flowing down through the vagus nerve,

Down through the brainstem,

Heart,

Abdomen,

And out through the whole body.

So focusing on this single eye of light in the center of the brain can be a powerful portal to feeling the whole body is full of light,

And feeling the light body which underlies and gives rise to the physical body.

As well as experiencing ourselves as beings of light,

Filled with clarity,

Lightness,

And joy.

Let's begin by sitting comfortably upright with your feet firmly on the ground.

Rest your palms cupped in your lap,

With the tips of your thumbs touching lightly in an open,

Receptive posture.

Lightly close your eyes.

Take a moment to settle in your seat,

And be present in your body.

Feel out into the space all around you as a sacred space that embraces you.

As you relax in this sacred space,

Allow your intention to be open and curious.

And see what you discover.

This is a powerful practice for sensing the light within,

The light of awareness,

The light which enlivens us and joins us all as one universal field of light.

The effect of this practice can transform how you experience who you are,

And how you relate to others and the source of all.

So as you begin this practice,

Consider dedicating it to the benefit of all beings,

That we all might come to know the light of our being.

See this light in each other,

And live in deep relationship with the source of all.

Now,

Let's begin to move more deeply into the practice by focusing down into feeling the sensations of contact of the soles of your feet on the ground.

Awaken sensory awareness here in your feet and your toes,

And allow them to soften and relax.

As if they are melting deep down into the earth.

Feel deep down into the earth,

And smile in gratitude to the earth for grounding,

Supporting,

And providing.

Allow the grounded presence of the earth to flow up through the soles of your feet,

Up through your shins and calves,

Your knees and thighs,

Into your hips and pelvic bowl,

Resting down in your seat.

Feel the weight of your body resting down in your seat,

Resting down on the earth.

Focus into your palms and fingers resting cupped in your lap.

Awaken sensory awareness here in your hands,

And allow your hands to soften and relax.

As if they are melting down into your legs.

Feel the soft openness in your hands,

Connected with the soft openness of your heart.

As your hands relax even more,

Allow your arms and shoulders to relax down,

Releasing any tension in your shoulders,

Neck,

And your head.

Imagine and feel as if a string is attached to the top of your head,

Drawing your spine gently upright like a string of luminous pearls.

Feel your spine gently stretched from your perineum and tailbone,

Right up through the top of your head,

Like a stream of light flowing upwards,

Up through your spine,

Up through the center of your brain,

Up through the top of your head,

And opening to the vast clear sky above.

Feel the vast openness of the sky,

Opening your mind.

Now,

Tuck your chin just slightly,

Gently lengthening the back of your neck.

Lightly close your lips and breathe in and out through your nose.

Nasal breathing warms and purifies the air you breathe in.

It increases oxygenation and it's calming to your nervous system.

As you continue nasal breathing,

Rest your tongue upon the roof of your mouth,

With the tip of your tongue touching the gum line behind your upper front teeth.

Soften and relax your tongue here.

Softening your tongue is another calming cue that sends a relaxation signal to the vagus nerve in the center of your brain.

As you soften and relax your tongue even more,

Feel this relaxation in the center of your brain.

Feel this relaxed aliveness flowing down through your vagus nerve,

Down through your neck,

Down through your heart,

Softening any tension around your heart.

Feel it flowing down through your abdomen,

Relaxing and softening your abdomen and lower back.

Feel this relaxed aliveness flowing out through your whole torso,

Head,

Arms and legs.

As you enjoy this feeling of relaxed alive presence,

Smile,

A subtle smile of calm happiness,

Of appreciation and gratitude for this time to tune in to the light within,

The pineal gland and the source of light.

Imagine and feel as if every cell is smiling and shining brightly with pure positive energy.

Allow the feeling of smiling to shine out through your eyes and relax any tension from your eyebrows and your forehead.

Now,

Focus into your eyes and forehead and imagine and feel as if the rays of the sun are shining in through your eyes and forehead.

Breathe in through your upper nasal passages and feel this light drawn back through your eyes and forehead,

Deep into the pineal gland in the center of your brain.

Breathe out through the center of your brain to amplify the energy here.

Continue to breathe in through your upper nasal passages,

Feeling the light being drawn in through your eyes and forehead,

Into the pineal gland in the center of your brain.

And breathe out through the center of your brain to focus energy here in your pineal gland.

Now,

Breathe in and out through the pineal gland in the center of your brain,

Amplifying the effervescent feeling of light here.

Feel the center of your brain lighting up like the sun.

Focus into the center of your brain,

Into this liquid crystal transducer of light,

The pineal gland.

Feel it glowing brightly.

Now feel the connection from the center of your brain up through the top of your head into a column of light extending high above you,

As if it extends all the way to Source.

Feel the light of Source shining down through this column,

Shining down through the top of your head into your pineal gland.

Breathe in,

Drawing the light of Source down through the column of light,

Down through the top of your head into your pineal gland.

And breathe out through your pineal gland,

Infusing it with light.

Now,

Breathe in and out through your pineal gland,

Amplifying the energy here in this single eye of light.

Feel this inner light shining brightly,

Tingling with clarity,

Lightness,

And joy.

Now,

Breathe in,

Drawing energy up through the medulla in your brainstem,

Into the pineal gland.

And breathe out through your pineal gland to center the energy here.

Take a few more ascending breaths,

Drawing the energy up through the brainstem into the pineal gland,

And breathing out through the pineal gland.

Now,

Again,

Breathe in and out through the pineal gland,

Feeling its frequency rising.

Feel the light shining in through your eyes and forehead,

In through the top of your head and out from your brainstem,

Into the pineal gland,

Together all at once,

Amplifying the frequency here in the pineal gland.

Feel this light shining from the center of your brain,

Out through your whole brain,

Through the left and right sides,

Shining out to the front and back,

Feeding neural connectivity,

Clarity,

And balance.

Feel this light shining out through your eyes,

Ears,

Awakening and enlivening your senses.

Feel this light flowing from your pineal gland,

Down through your vagus nerve,

Flowing down through your neck,

Lighting up your neck,

Shoulders,

Arms and hands.

Feel this light flowing down through your chest and upper back,

Lighting up your heart,

Breathing in and out through your heart.

Feel the connection of the light in your heart with your eyes,

Pineal gland,

And hands.

Feel your heart lighting up like the sun.

Feel this light flowing from your heart,

Down through your vagus nerve,

Down into your abdomen and lower back.

Breathe this light deeply,

In and out through your abdomen,

Feeling the vital energy building here,

As you breathe in deeply,

Feel this energy of light expanding with a downward pressure into your perineum,

Hips,

Legs,

And feet.

And breathe out,

Feeling the energy in your abdomen,

Hips,

Legs,

And feet.

Breathe in and out through your perineum,

Grounding the energy here.

Now feel this light shining out from the center of your brain,

The center of your heart,

And the center of your lower abdomen,

In a vertical channel of light,

Which runs up through the core of your body,

From your perineum up to the top of your head.

Feel the light shining from this central channel out through every cell,

All the way out through the pores of your skin,

And out through the whole space around you.

Feel this light shining from the central channel,

Infinitely in all directions.

Feel this light shining out infinitely in front of you,

Infinitely behind you,

Infinitely out to the left,

And infinitely out to the right.

Feel this light shining infinitely above you,

And infinitely below you.

Feel this light shining out infinitely in all directions,

As far as you can imagine,

And beyond that.

There are no edges,

No boundaries to this infinite light.

This light has no beginning and no end,

No inside and no outside.

There is only light,

Clear,

Transparent,

Rest as infinite light,

And be.

Feel the loving warmth of this light,

The lightness and joy of this light,

The transparent clarity of this light.

Rest as light.

Now feel the space of your body arising in the light,

As an expression of the light,

As an open space through which light shines,

Illuminating experiences of all kinds.

Notice how you feel.

Or an image,

What would this be?

Record this word,

Phrase,

Or image together with this feeling in your body.

Really soak it in.

Let it saturate your whole being so you remember this.

Bring it with you and share it wherever you go,

With everyone you meet,

All of whom are also expressions of light.

Feel the light shining out from the center of your brain,

The center of your heart,

And the center of your lower abdomen.

Feel the connection of these three centers of light in the central channel of light rising up through the core of your being and smile as you enjoy the sensation of clarity,

Lightness,

And joy.

Slowly open your shining eyes and feel the alive clarity inside and all around.
