Hello and welcome.
Today we're going to learn how to connect with our inner child.
Before we start,
I'd like you to think about ways that you would be able to soothe your inner child.
Whether it be humming,
Stroking,
Hugging,
Singing comfort songs,
Using pet names like love,
Darling,
Sweetheart,
Or telling your child nurturing things like I love you,
I'm sorry,
I hear you,
I forgive you,
Thank you for telling me this.
Becoming aware of ways to soothe your inner child is going to help you greatly in this meditation.
Just think for a minute,
How do you like to be soothed?
And when you're ready,
I invite you to sit down and get comfortable,
Take a deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
In and take another one,
In,
One last time,
In and out.
Bring your attention to the top of your head,
Your eyes,
Release any tension in your mouth or jaw and let your shoulders,
Arms and hands soften,
Relax.
And when you're ready,
I invite you to picture your safe space,
A place that feels safe to you.
And when you're in that safe place,
Imagine a bubble of protection all around you.
When you're ready,
I want you to picture your inner child standing across from you and just observe.
What do they look like?
What are they doing?
What are they wearing?
Walk over to them,
Introduce yourself,
Have a conversation.
Maybe your inner child wants to hug or play.
Maybe your inner child wants to be seen or heard.
Let the feeling of the inner child emerge.
Accept all of the feelings,
Even if it's difficult and painful.
You are in a safe place to explore this right now.
Continue listening,
Listen without judging,
Listen without interrupting,
Explaining or blaming.
And when you're ready,
Ask them,
What do I need to know right now?
Be open and listen to what they want to tell you.
As you listen to your inner child,
I invite you to soothe them.
Using the techniques we discussed at the beginning,
How beautiful.
Being able to connect with your inner child,
Being able to hold space for yourself.
Continue the question,
What do I need to know right now?
Keep soothing,
Keep reassuring,
You've got this.
And when you are ready,
Thank your inner child for connecting with you today.
For giving you the wisdom and knowledge that is necessary for you right now in this moment.
And with that,
Shrink your inner child as small,
Small,
Small as possible.
And place them in your heart.
And know that they are with you all the time.
And when you hear your inner child calling,
Know that you can always connect with them.
Connect with your heart,
Smile to yourself.
And quietly say,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
And when you're ready,
Move your toes and feet.
If you need to move or stretch,
Please honor that.
And slowly open your eyes.
