Sit or lay in a comfortable position.

Allow your body to settle in and know that right now there's nowhere you need to be and nothing you need to do but just give yourself this gift of attention and as your body starts to settle into this position start to bring your attention inwards.

Disregarding any external distractions and allowing this moment to be all about you and just for a moment I want you to focus your attention on your breath which will help your body relax and help your mind focus.

Notice the cool air of your,

Notice the cool air coming in through your nose and the slightly warmer air as you exhale.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

And every breath in just imagine you're allowing relaxation to enter your body and on every breath out allow any stress or tension to leave your body.

Breathing in relaxation.

Breathing out tension.

Relaxation coming in.

Tension going out.

And every exhale just allows you to relax a little bit deeper and if your mind wanders at all just simply bring your attention back to your breath.

And in this relaxed state I want you to gently just place a hand over your heart.

As your hand rests over your heart notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest as you inhale and exhale.

Allow your hand to fully connect as you inhale and exhale.

And start to bring your awareness into your heart as you start to marvel at how amazing this organ is.

This organ that began beating and giving you life before you even entered the world.

This organ that has beat every single day since.

Pumping your blood,

Giving you energy,

Vitality.

This organ that gives you life and as your hand rests over it just send a sense of gratitude to this organ for all of the hard work it's done since the day you were created.

And as we think about how amazing this organ is and we send gratitude to it you may start to become aware that it's more than just a physical organ.

This heart doesn't just pump your blood but it makes you,

You.

This heart has enabled you to love,

To feel joy,

To feel excitement and also to feel sadness,

Sorrow and grief.

As you contemplate the feelings and range of emotions this heart has felt don't push any of them away.

If any difficult emotions bubble to the surface just allow it.

If any of the sadness it's held is released just allow it.

If any of the hurt that it's held on to starts to bubble up just allow it.

Become a witness of what your heart has experienced and extend compassion for any of the pain it's gone through.

But your heart has not only experienced pain it's also experienced pleasure.

And for a moment allow yourself to remember how your heart has felt when you've experienced love.

The warmth it creates that starts in your heart and travels throughout your entire body.

Love is the food of your heart.

It's what heals any of that pain.

Consider someone that you feel love for and allow that to radiate not only within you but from you.

As well as love this heart has also experienced excitement.

Those flutters when you're doing something that sets your soul on fire.

Something that gets your heart racing.

That makes you remember that you're fully alive when your whole body tingles with anticipation.

And this heart also enables you to feel deep deep gratitude.

Gratitude that enables you to feel more positive and optimistic about the world.

Gratitude that enables you to appreciate those tiny little things.

Spend a moment now thinking of some things you are grateful for no matter how small or large.

Things that you truly appreciate.

And with your hands still placed over your heart make sure you send some gratitude and appreciation to this incredible part of you.

Feeling grateful for the physical health,

Energy and vitality it provides you with.

And feeling grateful for the depth and breadth of emotions that it enables you to experience.

You may want to silently say thank you.

And just once more start to bring your awareness back to your breath.

As you take in a deliberate inhale and a slow exhale.

Once again feeling your chest rise and fall.

As you take in another deliberate inhale and a slow exhale.

Allowing your entire body to be filled with the love,

Gratitude and compassion that you've just experienced.

And ever so slowly bring your awareness back to your physical body.

Bring your awareness back to the room that you're in.

Just ever so slowly allowing yourself to be reacquainted with the present moment.

You slowly start to become aware of your body by wiggling your toes and your fingers.

Slowly starting to stretch.

Allowing your body to feel vital and healthy.

As you give one more deep stretch you smile and you come back to the room that you're in with love and gratitude.
