Hey,
Darling,
If you're here,
Maybe you've been feeling heavy lately.
Not just tired,
But tired in your bones.
That's burnout.
And not just from doing too much,
But from feeling too much,
For carrying too much,
From being everything to everyone else,
While forgetting what you need.
So if you're showing up empty,
Overwhelmed,
Or like the light in you has dimmed a little,
You're in the right place.
You're safe to set it down here.
You're allowed to breathe here.
You're allowed to rest.
Let's begin by coming into your body.
You can sit or lie down,
Whatever feels most supportive.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Close your eyes.
Place one hand on your chest and the other on your belly.
Feel your breath move beneath your hands.
Inhale and exhale.
Do it again.
Inhale through the nose and sigh it out.
Let your breath settle into its own rhythm.
Let's gently scan the body.
Where do you feel heaviness most?
Your jaw?
Your face?
Your neck or shoulders?
Maybe in your belly,
Your hips,
Or your legs?
Or maybe in your hands from holding on too tight?
Maybe the heaviness lives in your mind or deep in your heart or sits in your stomach like a knot.
You don't have to change a thing.
Just notice.
Breathe in to whatever feels tense,
Tired,
Or disconnected as this is how we begin to release the weight by seeing it first.
Now imagine this with me.
You're carrying a backpack.
Not one you can see,
But one that's been there for a long time.
It's weighing you down because it's holding so much.
Inside are all the things you've been holding.
Other people's expectations,
Your own high standards,
The shoulds,
The guilt,
The overthinking.
The weight of always trying to hold it all together.
Let's begin to unpack it gently,
Piece by piece.
And as you start to unpack,
You can say out loud or in your mind,
I sit down the need to be everything to everyone.
I sit down the fear that rest makes me weak.
I sit down the shame for needing support.
Whatever is true for you,
Release it here.
Now take a deep breath in through the nose and sigh it out,
Exhaling through the mouth.
As the backpack begins to empty,
Picture yourself setting it down completely.
You are not your burdens.
You are not your burnout.
You are human.
You are healing and you are still whole.
Feel the lightness within you and your body,
Your breath,
Your being.
Doesn't that feel good?
Now place both hands on your heart and whisper to yourself,
Even if no one else sees it,
I do.
I see the weight I've carried and I choose to let it go.
Rest here,
Let the truth settle in.
I want to leave you with this mantra.
Some of the heaviest things I carry can't be seen and I'm done carrying them.
Let that sink into your bones,
Let it move through your breath and when you're ready,
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.
Come back into your space gently by wiggling your fingers and toes,
Maybe roll your shoulders and just remember,
You're not weak for needing rest,
You're wise for choosing it.
