In the natural rhythm of the seasons, there’s a time for gathering, a time for conserving, and a time for resting deep within. You are entering that moment now. Just as the land begins to prepare for colder months… We, too, can listen inward.

Welcome.

Let's begin by simply arriving.

Fill the space around you.

Noticing the place where your body meets your seat or cushion.

Noticing the contact between your feet and the ground.

Knowing you don't need to do anything but notice.

You may have come here from a busy day or a quiet one.

Thoughts still swirling.

Perhaps you're already seeking rest.

Wherever you're starting from is perfect.

Take a slow gentle breath in.

Exhale slowly.

Nothing forced.

Just an imitation.

Inhale.

Let's just do that again.

A little more slowly this time.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Just begin to notice how the breath touches the body.

How it moves in your chest,

Your ribs,

Your belly.

Just feel the breath like a gentle tide.

Coming in.

And as you rest here,

Bring your attention to your body.

Scanning gently from head to toe.

No need to fix or change anything.

Just awareness.

Notice your face.

Is there any tightness?

Maybe around the jaw or the forehead.

Just soften it if you can.

Just noticing your shoulders.

Allow them to drop just a little.

Feeling your arms and hands.

Notice if they're holding tension or simply resting.

Just bring some attention and awareness to your chest.

This place that holds so much.

Just allow your breath to meet your heart.

Now slowly bring your awareness down to your belly.

To your hips.

Your legs.

All the way down to your feet.

Just feeling gravity doing the work.

Feel yourself grounded,

Supported.

As you notice the support beneath you,

See if you can allow your nervous system to begin to settle.

Just let your breath tell your body,

We are safe.

We're here now.

And nothing is demanded of us in this very moment.

Think about the natural rhythm of things.

The natural rhythm of the seasons.

There's a time for gathering.

A time for conserving.

And a time for resting deep within.

You are entering that moment now.

Just as the land begins to prepare for colder months,

We too can listen inward.

Not rushing,

Not retreating.

Just listening.

Within you is an inner landscape.

One that knows what is essential and what can be gently set aside.

Just breathe into that space now.

And ask yourself,

What are you carrying that no longer needs to be held so tightly?

What parts of yourself are asking for quiet nourishment?

And what wisdom is slowly surfacing?

You don't have to answer with words.

Just feel.

Know when you're not alone in this work.

You are part of something larger.

A cycle,

A rhythm.

And that rhythm lives in your breath.

Breathing in what sustains you.

And breathing out what has served its time with you.

It's ready to go.

You are allowed to prepare yourself,

Not out of fear,

But out of wisdom.

Out of care.

You are allowed to rest here.

To restore.

To listen.

So let yourself imagine,

If only gently,

That deep within you is a sanctuary.

A warm and quiet space.

Maybe it feels like a cabin or a grove in the forest.

Or a still,

Open sky.

Whatever arises is right for you.

This is your inner ground.

This is where you can come when things feel uncertain.

This is where you remember you've weathered many seasons and you carry strength in your bones.

Knowing that even if it doesn't always feel like it,

Your body,

Your breath,

Your spirit have known challenge.

And they have known return.

Allow yourself to feel,

Even for a moment,

How deeply your system wants to heal.

Wants to settle.

Wants to restore balance.

Knowing you are not broken.

You are becoming.

And just as nature finds its way back,

So do you.

So let's just sit here for a little while longer in the quiet warmth of your own becoming.

As you begin to come back into the space around you,

Bring with you this gentle steadiness.

Maybe take a deeper breath now,

One that feels nourishing.

Just let your body know,

I can bring this calm with me.

Not as a shield,

But as a center.

As a place to return to when the world asks more of you.

There's no rush.

You're preparing just like the earth prepares,

With care,

With wisdom,

With enough.

Whatever today or tomorrow brings,

Remember that there is a ground inside you that cannot be shaken.

And now when you're ready,

Start to reorient yourself with Rome.

Maybe wiggle your fingers gently.

Move your toes,

Noticing any sounds in the room around you.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes or lift your gaze.

Bring you that quiet rhythm into your conversations,

Into your work,

Into your care for others and yourself.

Thank you for showing up.

Thank you for tending the ground within.
