Transcript
We can often feel overwhelmed at times by life.
We can feel like we may be losing control.
And that can trigger an inner push and pull dynamics within us.
We sometimes may even feel conflicted within using our power.
And this can stem from an overwhelmed inner child,
An overwhelmed inner child.
So today we're going to take a moment to connect with this inner child.
Closing your eyes if you already haven't.
Putting your hands on your heart,
On your stomach,
Your torso.
Feeling into the present moment.
Taking a couple deep breaths through your nose.
Breathing through the diaphragm.
There's no right or wrong.
Arriving here and now.
If you already feel overwhelmed coming into this meditation,
Even better.
If you don't,
Wherever you're at,
Notice how you feel as you breathe in and out.
Saying out loud,
I call all parts of me here and now.
Reclaiming any energy,
Any mental focus that may be elsewhere coming back to the here and now.
Every inhale and exhale.
I'm both here in this present moment and in my mind's eye.
Hand on heart and stomach feeling into the here and now.
I want you to visualize,
Visualize yourself,
Visualize yourself standing next to your inner child.
This beautiful archetype of the little you visualize them standing there in this natural setting outdoors.
What are they wearing?
Look at them tenderly.
Greet them.
Connecting and communicating with them.
Hello little one.
And notice,
Notice there's a kite in their hands.
A kite that's flying in the wind and this kite has a string that they're holding on very tightly.
And as you're standing next to them,
Whether they're calm,
Nervous or overwhelmed,
Feeling into them saying,
I'm here to support you little one.
And as you say that,
Notice the wind picking up a bit.
Feel them struggling with the kite.
Feel the kite being pulled by the wind.
Sense this little one feeling any nervousness,
Anxiety,
Overwhelm,
Anything that's triggering.
And if there's nothing,
Dig deeper.
Many of us may rationalize it away and hide it from ourselves.
Notice as this inner child,
As you see them in your mind's eye,
Standing next to you,
Holding this kite,
It's being pulled every which way in the wind.
Feel them getting a little nervous as if they're like struggling with this kite string.
Notice as you're seeing this where there may be tension arising in your body.
Notice where there may be tension in your mind or heart.
Notice what's arising.
And if you're feeling too much energy,
Rub your heart and your torso with your hand on your heart and stomach and remind yourself,
This is me.
I am safe.
This is me.
I am safe.
It can feel as if you're going to lose control at any moment in life,
Much like this inner child with the kite.
Notice where there's tension arising in your mind and body or in your heart.
See this little one,
Put your hand on their back and reassure them and say,
It's okay,
You're doing great.
Noticing and seeing and sensing the wind still pulling the kite.
They may have a little bit more control over it.
Still may feel overwhelming to them.
Notice if there's any tendencies,
Any tendencies for you or them to pull the string.
Does your inner child feel a reflex or a response?
Maybe you're noticing a gripping tension in your body as if you want to overcompensate or pick up the slack.
Notice any tendencies,
Any tensions,
Noticing deeper levels,
What's arising as we unfold this visualization saying out loud,
I'm both here in my mind's eye next to my inner child and in my body,
I'm both here and there.
My mind is in my body.
Notice any tendencies for the child to want to let go of the string or give up too much slack.
Notice what they're doing with the power.
Noticing how this tension is reflected in your body.
Perhaps you literally feel a tension in your physical body right now,
Much like the kite string in their hand.
Maybe you're feeling a pulling in your body.
Noticing more and more reassuring yourself,
This is me.
I am safe.
Noticing the tension and breathing,
Allowing,
Surrendering.
Noticing your tendency to want to push,
Overcompensate,
Take control and reel in the kite or notice if it's almost like it wants to give up and the pleaser wants to be a welcome mat and let go.
Notice the power imbalance and as you do that,
I want you to breathe in the word,
Harmony and say to yourself,
I am in harmony.
Breathe in harmony.
Harmony in my power.
Harmony.
I am harmony.
I push her and please her in harmony.
Breathe up the left side from one hand to the other.
Exhale down from the hand on your heart to the hand on your stomach.
Breathe in harmony.
Exhale anything that no longer serves you,
Any power imbalances.
See your inner child exhaling them as you exhale.
Feel them as you continue to feel harmony arising even more between your pusher and pleaser,
Between your giving and taking,
Between its tendency to want to over pull in the string of the kite and wanting to let go altogether.
Harmony.
Breathing up the left,
Down the right,
Seeing your inner child gaining more control now of the kite.
See them and feel them getting calmer and more centered in their power.
Breathing up the left,
Harmony.
Exhaling harmony.
See them and feel them and sense them being able to comfortably guide the string of the kite.
Pushing and pulling in harmony.
Noticing the energies of assertion and reception.
Noticing that your inner child knows when to hold it tight and when to let go of the reins.
Pushing and pulling in harmony.
Breathing up the left,
Inhale.
Exhale down the right.
Feel and sense as you breathe these two natures within you.
These two natures of the pusher and pleaser,
The alpha and omega that often project into the dynamics of our life.
Feel your inner child gain more harmony and control.
Bringing deeper harmony to your inner energies.
Saying out loud,
I bring deeper harmony to my energy field.
I bring deeper harmony to my energy field.
Feel and see your inner child standing next to you like a pro.
Maneuvering this kite even if it gets more windy,
More overwhelming,
More stressful.
See them maintain their composure as you continue to breathe in and out.
See them smiling with you,
Standing next to you,
And observe them starting to have even more fun with this kite.
Harmony between my pusher and pleaser.
Harmony between my alpha and omega.
Harmony between giving and taking.
Feel the harmony in you and in this inner child.
Sense the harmony in you and in this inner child.
See them more harmonious.
Feel and sense it with every fiber of your being.
Harmony.
See and feel the harmony as you breathe up the left,
Down the right.
Be the harmony.
Give them one big hug and give them thanks now for allowing you to guide them and restoring this harmony between their power,
This pusher and pleaser energy.
The ability to both give and take and balance in harmony and tell them they're going to continue to do great and that you believe in them.
Feeling their confidence light up,
Feeling your confidence light up,
And saying to them,
I'll be back,
Inner one.
Feeling yourself coming back to the room,
Allowing the energies to integrate,
Saying I integrate these energies into every aspect of my being with ease.
I call all parts of me back to the room as I come back to the present,
Integrating this energy of harmony into all aspects of my being.

Loved this quick centering meditation, especially waking at 4am with overwhelm in my body and a racing mind. Harmony - even the word feels like an easeful sigh. I’ve softened into the constriction of how I was feeling before the meditation. I also remembered how much I loved flying a kite as a child (and I believe I still do). 🥰 Thank you!
