Welcome to this yoga nidra practice for awakening love.
You are entering an experience of deep relaxation and inner exploration.
Thank you for being here,
Thank you for giving yourself this time today.
My name is Cassandra Varga and I'm so happy to share with you this beautiful yoga nidra practice to awaken love within you.
To begin please prepare by finding a comfortable position to either lay or remain seated.
If seated imagine your spine gently in alignment and your head and chin slightly tucked.
If laying down allow your legs to be comfortably wide so that your hips can soften.
Let your arms rest naturally by your sides,
Shoulders at ease and palms facing up,
Almost in a welcome and accepting position.
Have a pillow or blanket touch comfortably under your head,
Under your knees and if you like cover yourself with a blanket as well.
Do anything you need to be comfortable,
Wonderfully beautifully comfortable.
Take your time and when you are in position take a beautiful deep breath in and out.
Another deep breath in,
Continue the breath at your own pace and as you do so set aside anything that's on your mind.
Right now here there's nothing you need to do.
This is your time to connect within,
This is your time to awaken love.
Check for any lumps or bumps of clothing,
Jewelry or even the surface beneath you that might draw your attention away and if you find anything now is a time to adjust it.
Scan your whole body checking that you're as comfortable as can be and that there's nothing calling your attention,
Nothing that might draw your attention away from this practice of yoga nidra.
And now I invite you to gently close your eyes and if this does not feel safe for you just drawing your eye gaze down to the tip of your nose or leave them open if this is best for you.
Take a few deep breaths back in again,
Allowing your body to relax more and more with each exhale.
Breathe in and out.
Take another deep breath in and as you exhale feel yourself settle and let go.
Now is the time to make any final adjustments you need so you can be still for your yoga nidra practice.
Make sure you are completely comfortable and can completely surrender all doing.
However know that you can move whenever you need to but try to make it so that you will have absolutely no desire to move.
Begin to feel stillness,
Rest in that stillness.
Become aware of distant sounds.
Allow your sense of hearing to extend out receiving all sounds effortlessly and without analysis,
Simply receiving with effortless awareness.
Now bring your hearing into the room,
Receiving sounds within the room.
Hear the sound of your own body breathing in and out.
Feel the body resting.
Be aware of your body breathing.
Your body breathing itself.
Nothing to do,
No need for concentration,
Just effortless awareness and say to yourself mentally,
I'm going to practice yoga nidra and will remain awake and aware.
However if you fall asleep and sleep is what you need,
The invitation is to follow my voice at all times.
However if you need to separate yourself from the words please do so and come back at any time that feels right for you.
Yoga nidra has now begun.
As you embrace this restful state I invite you to set a gentle intention for your nidra.
Today we are cultivating a deep sense of love and compassion both for ourselves and for all beings.
We will open ourselves to the boundless love that surrounds us,
Allowing it to flow through every cell of our being.
So I invite you to set an intention for today's nidra.
That intention is,
I am love.
Please say it to yourself now three times,
Feel the truth of these words resonate within you.
Let this intention settle deeply within.
With each repetition feel yourself aligning more and more with the meaning of the words.
I am love.
You are exactly where you are meant to be.
You are exactly where you need to be.
Now we are taking a trip through the body,
Witnessing with curiosity and effortless awareness.
Allow the mind to hop from one body part to the next.
No need to think,
Just awareness and perhaps allowing a feeling of love and gratitude for that part of your body as you arrive at it.
Awareness of any sensations,
Feelings that might arise without attachment and allowing love to be felt,
Love to flow,
Love to expand.
Simply noticing,
Simply feeling and moving freely on.
Now bring awareness to the point between the eyebrows.
Aware.
The hollow of the throat,
The right shoulder,
The right elbow.
Effortless traveling deep in the body,
Allowing love to be felt,
Love to flow,
Love to expand.
Down to the middle of the right wrist,
The right thumb,
The tip of the index finger,
The tip of the middle finger,
Tip of the ring finger,
Tip of the little finger.
Back up to the wrist,
The elbow,
The shoulder,
The hollow of the throat.
Deep sweeping awareness over to the left shoulder,
Allowing love to be felt,
Love to flow,
Love to expand.
Down to the left elbow,
Deep in the body effortless,
Allowing love to flow,
Allowing love to be felt,
Allowing love to expand.
The middle of the left wrist,
The left thumb,
Tip of the index finger,
Tip of the middle finger,
Tip of the ring finger,
Tip of the little finger.
Back up to the wrist,
The elbow,
The shoulder,
The hollow of the throat,
The heart center.
Allowing love to be felt,
Allowing love to flow,
Allowing love to expand.
The right side of the chest,
The heart center.
The left side of the chest,
The heart center.
The navel center,
Tip of the tailbone,
Right hip joint,
Right knee joint,
Ankle joint,
Right big toe,
Tip of the second toe,
Tip of the third toe,
Tip of the fourth toe,
Tip of the baby toe.
Back up to the right ankle joint,
Knee joint,
Hip joint,
Tip of the tailbone.
Sweeping awareness over to the left hip joint,
Allowing love to be felt,
Love to flow,
Love to expand.
Down to the left knee joint,
Ankle joint,
The left big toe,
Tip of the second toe,
Tip of the third toe,
Tip of the fourth toe,
Tip of the baby toe.
Back up to the ankle,
Knee joint,
Hip joint,
Tip of the tailbone,
Navel center,
Heart center.
Allowing love to be felt,
Allowing love to flow,
Allowing love to expand.
Hollow of the throat,
The eyebrow center,
The eyebrow center.
Now become aware of the chest.
Notice the body breathing itself.
Gently the chest rises and falls with each breath.
Nothing for you to do,
Simply witnessing.
Allowing love to appear and expand.
Awake and aware,
Still,
Breathe.
Now bring breath,
Awareness to the nostrils.
Feel the breath in the nostrils.
Move awareness to the right nostril.
Feel that with each breath stream coming in the right nostril,
Heat is created in the body.
Move awareness to the left nostril.
Feel that with each breath stream coming in the left nostril,
Cooling is created in the body.
Now bring awareness to both nostrils and feel the balance of two streams of breath coming in,
Right and left,
Heating and cooling,
In and out.
Fully awake and aware,
Watching the breath in the nostrils,
Feeling a balance of heat and cooling in the body.
Love is within you,
You are love.
Feel this awakening within yourself,
Let it permeate every part of your being,
Filling you with a sense of warmth and connection.
Nourished,
Fulfilled.
Imagine now that you have a bright,
Warm light in your heart.
It represents boundless love.
Feel this warm light,
This boundless love flowing through you.
It flows gently from your heart,
Out to your ribs and down to your legs and feet.
Feel it there,
Warm and bright,
Dissolving any barriers or limitations you may have placed upon yourself.
Conscious,
Connected.
With ease and fluidity,
It flows back up to your heart,
Bright and warm and then out to your arms and fingertips.
Feel it there,
Warm and bright,
Dissolving any barriers or limitations you may have placed upon yourself.
Content,
Connected.
With ease and fluidity,
It flows back into your heart and then up to your throat,
Your face and then your whole head.
Your whole head.
Feel it there,
Warm and bright,
Dissolving any barriers or limitations you may have placed upon yourself.
Allow yourself to expand.
Allow yourself to expand beyond the confines of expectation.
Allow yourself to expand beyond the confines of your ego.
Feeling the warmth of your light and your love.
Feel and embrace.
Feeling and embracing the interconnectedness of all things.
You are love.
Feel and embrace.
Feeling and embracing love which empowers.
As you allow yourself to simply be,
Love is there.
With every conscious breath,
Love is there.
And when you allow yourself to simply love,
To fully love,
For no reason and for every reason,
Feel the warmth and abundance of that love filling your heart.
Welcoming everything,
Including yourself,
Including the other,
With love and compassion.
Allow your light and warmth and love to flow freely through every part of you.
You are love.
Embrace every aspect of yourself with love and compassion.
You are love.
Embrace every aspect of yourself with love and compassion knowing that you are worthy just as you are.
Releasing any judgements or expectations you may hold.
Releasing any judgements or expectations you may hold about yourself or the other.
And simply be present with whatever arises.
Feel yourself opening up to receiving all that is meant for you.
Allowing it to flow into your life with ease and grace.
Claiming all that is available for you right here,
Right now.
You are love.
Breathe.
Allow yourself to bask in the love and abundance that surrounds you,
Knowing that you are deserving of all the blessings the universe has to offer.
Take a few moments to simply rest in this state of deep relaxation and love.
Allow yourself to fully surrender to the present moment,
Letting go of any tension or resistance.
And in this state of deep space,
Your intention can be heard and it can be integrated.
Repeat it to yourself again in your most authentic heartfelt voice.
I am love.
Becoming aware of your breath.
When you are ready,
Gently begin to deepen your breath.
Your body resting,
Breathing itself.
Hear the sound of your body breathing.
Feel the sensation of your body breathing.
Become aware of the room you are in.
The floor,
The walls,
The ceiling,
The air surrounding you.
Listen for sounds within the room.
Knowing that this practice of yoga nidra is coming to an end.
Develop awareness of your body and the place you are in.
Feel your awareness coming back into your body.
Yoga nidra is now complete.
Begin some gentle movements in the body.
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes.
Make any gentle movements with the body that feel good.
Now make any larger movements.
Move your feet,
Legs,
Hands,
Arms.
Move any body parts that are calling to you.
If you are laying down,
Stretch your arms over your head.
When you are ready,
Roll your body to the right side.
Take a few deep breaths.
Integrating your yoga nidra experience into your everyday.
You may lay there for as long as you need.
Or gently press yourself slowly up to sitting.
Take your time,
There's no rush.
If you are sitting,
As straight as you can make it,
Take a deep breath in and a long breath out.
And say to yourself mentally one more time,
I am love.
Take a moment to acknowledge the love you've cultivated within yourself.
And carry this feeling with you,
As you continue on with your day or evening.
