Hello,
My friend.
One of the biggest things I've struggled with along my recovery journey from neuroplastic symptoms is the urge to figure everything out and fix it.
This fear-based drive to research,
Understand,
Plan,
And control only created more anxiety and confusion,
Which of course increased my symptoms.
This cycle of mental,
Emotional,
And physical pain can be true anguish.
So if you are feeling stuck on this treadmill of hypervigilance and failed cures,
Longing to let go and feel free,
This practice is for you.
So let's get started.
Find a quiet,
Comfortable space where you can sit or lie down without distraction.
It can allow your body to settle deeply into the support underneath you,
Whether it's a chair,
The floor,
Or your bed.
Close your eyes if that feels safe and comfortable,
Or let your gaze soften downward.
Take a moment to fully arrive here and now,
Giving yourself permission to pause.
Notice any areas of tension or tightness in your body,
And invite them to soften with each breath.
Begin to bring your attention inward,
Tuning into the natural rhythm of your breathing.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your belly or chest as the air effortlessly moves in and out.
There is no need to change your breath.
Simply observe it with kindness and curiosity.
Feel yourself settle in more deeply.
This practice is your space to rest from struggle and striving,
To step away from the habit of trying to fix or figure it out.
You are safe and okay right here.
There is nothing urgent that needs your fixing or solving right now.
So let your body get loose,
Release any gripping in your muscles,
Soften your belly and jaw,
And lean into the energy of these words.
There is nothing to fear,
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to figure out.
We'll begin with this first phrase,
Nothing to fear.
Allow yourself to feel any sense of settling in the body that comes with these words.
Know that any symptoms that are present,
Whether it be pain,
Fatigue,
Dizziness,
Or other sensations are just false messages from your nervous system.
These are echoes of patterns your brain has learned over time,
Not signals of immediate danger or harm.
You can repeat to yourself,
Either silently or out loud,
There is nothing to fear here.
Imagine your nervous system softening,
Letting go,
Inviting calm and ease.
If worries or old stories arise,
Meet them with gentle kindness,
Like watching clouds drift slowly across a wide,
Open sky.
You don't have to chase them or hold onto them.
Simply observe and return to the peaceful rhythm of your breath and your monotony.
Mantra,
There is nothing to fear here.
Nothing to fear.
Feel yourself surrendering,
Melting away all urgency and anxiety.
Now we'll focus on this phrase,
Nothing to fix.
See if you can sense any deep,
Soothing release within your body and mind.
Notice how your brain often tries to protect you by searching for what's wrong or what needs to be addressed.
This impulse comes from a place of care,
But today you are invited to take a rest from all that constant work.
Imagine setting down a heavy box,
Filled with all the endless solutions,
Protocols and fixes.
Feel the weight lift as you allow yourself to release the need to control or perfect your experience right now.
Healing is unfolding beneath the surface,
Quiet,
Gentle and steady,
Like a seed growing deep in the soil.
There is no rush,
No pressure to force change.
Declaring there is nothing to fix is a radical act of trust.
Trust in your body's wisdom,
Trust in your brain's remarkable ability to rewire and regulate when given kindness and patience.
Feel yourself melting into this space of acceptance,
Exactly as you are.
Without needing to do anything.
This soft,
Sacred surrender is your fertile ground for your transformation.
Finally,
We'll focus on this phrase,
Nothing to figure out.
Release the tight grip of needing all the answers or clarity right now.
Invite a gentle surrender to the mystery of healing and change.
Visualize your brain as a vast,
Beautiful landscape filled with countless pathways.
Some pathways may have created symptoms out of habit,
But your brain is endlessly adaptable,
Ready to grow new,
Healthier connections.
There is nothing you need to figure out.
Feel yourself floating effortlessly on calm,
Still water.
No need to paddle or navigate.
You are supported,
Held and safe.
Just floating.
Gently turn your focus to the steady flow of your breath,
Soft and gentle.
Here in this moment,
You are safe.
You are all right,
Right now.
You are enough,
Just as you are.
Your nervous system is learning to relax and trust.
Breathe in freedom and ease,
And breathe out tension and striving.
You can rest here for a few moments,
Letting this spaciousness fill your whole being.
Okay,
When you feel ready,
Gently bring your awareness to the center of your body.
Bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Maybe enjoy a little stretch.
Open your eyes slowly,
Carrying this gentle truth with you.
There's nothing to fear,
Nothing to fix,
Nothing to figure out.
Thank you so much for practicing with me,
My friend.
Wishing you a peaceful,
Easy rest of your day or evening,
And I hope to see you again soon.
