When we resist life as it is, we suffer. Flowing With What Is is a 10-minute guided meditation designed to help you soften resistance, release control, and reconnect with the natural rhythm of existence. Through gentle awareness, you’ll learn how to witness fear, tension, and disappointment without fighting them—transforming struggle into stillness. This practice blends mindfulness and self-inquiry to remind you that peace isn’t found by changing reality, but by flowing with it. Perfect for moments of stress, uncertainty, or emotional overwhelm, this meditation will help you return to presence, clarity, and trust in life’s unfolding.

Hello,

My name is Alonzo,

Also known as the Life Lama,

And I'd like to welcome you to this guided meditation.

Let's begin by finding a quiet place where you can sit comfortably.

Allow your hands to rest softly in your lap.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath into the count of four.

Hold it for one moment,

And then breathe out to a count of six.

Do that three times.

Breathe in,

Count of four.

Hold.

Breathe out,

Count of six.

Breathe in,

Count of four.

Hold.

Breathe out,

Count of six.

One more time.

Breathe in,

Count of four.

Hold.

Breathe out,

Count of six.

Feel your body begin to rest in the present moment.

Let the breath remind you,

You're safe,

Right here,

Right now.

The practice of acceptance begins with stillness,

Not controlling the moment,

But meeting it with open arms.

When life doesn't match our expectations,

We suffer.

Reality says one thing,

But our mind argues.

We say,

This shouldn't be happening.

That's where resistance begins,

And peace ends.

Acceptance doesn't mean we agree with what's happening.

It means we stop fighting what already is.

Like a river,

Life moves with or without our permission.

We can either flow with it,

Or struggle against it.

Now,

Take a breath.

Notice where you feel tension,

Perhaps in your chest or jaw.

That's resistance.

Breathe gently into that space,

And then simply whisper,

I allow this moment to be as it is.

Please sit in reflection with that for a few moments.

Bring to mind a situation in your life that's difficult or frustrating.

See it clearly,

Without changing it or fixing it.

This is the first step,

Acknowledging what's real.

You might say softly,

This is what's happening.

I don't need to like it,

But I can see it.

As you breathe,

Feel the weight of resistance soften.

Reality doesn't need your permission.

It just needs your awareness.

Sit with that for a few moments.

Now,

Listen to your mind's shoulds.

They should have treated me differently.

This shouldn't have happened.

Notice how those thoughts tighten your body.

Each should is a rope pulling you away from peace.

Gently loosen your grip.

Breathe in acceptance.

Breathe out release.

Whisper in your mind,

I release what I can't control.

I open to what is.

Sit quietly for a few moments in that openness.

Acceptance isn't giving up.

It's waking up.

When we see clearly,

We can act wisely.

And we can act from stillness and from that stillness comes strength.

Think of something in your life that needs action.

Ask yourself,

What's one peaceful step I can take from acceptance,

Not resistance?

Let that answer arise naturally.

Now sit with that answer for a few moments.

Imagine yourself floating down a gentle river.

The current is life itself.

You no longer fight it.

You trust it.

This is what acceptance feels like.

Effortless,

Natural,

Real.

Whisper quietly,

I flow with life.

I trust the moment to unfold.

I am free from resistance.

Breathe that in deeply.

Let your entire body relaxed into the current of now.

Slowly return your awareness to your breath.

Feel the calm within you,

The peace that was always there.

Reality is not your enemy,

It's your teacher.

When you stop resisting,

You begin awakening.

Take one last deep breath.

And as you exhale,

Smile gently.

You've just practiced the art of freedom.

The art of accepting life as it is.

Thank you so much for taking the time to meditate with me.

Namaste.
