Hello,
Insight Timer.
Wonderful Insight Timer.
It's Sam from Aluna Moon.
This is only our second talk as we are much more used to writing meditations and recording them in the studio.
So please forgive this basic and stripped back audio but hopefully it actually suits the nature of this talk.
True Self-esteem.
It's short but precise and hopefully offers a trickle of learning in your vast pool of self-enlightenment.
How I would define true self-esteem is the light of the true self.
Our true self is infinite and boundless.
Infinitely joyous,
Loving and harmonious.
Boundlessly creative,
Instinctive,
Compassionate and passionate.
It's beyond,
Beyond the constraints of the material human world.
The full self is the ego.
It's the bit of us that's concerned with what other people think of us and how we match up against others.
It likes to compare and to compete.
How we come across is at the heart of the misaligned self.
It's the part of us that constantly needs to revamp itself to feel good.
And so really it's fragile because nothing is ever quite good enough.
And so the full self loves a good drama.
Hows,
Whys,
If onlys,
Shoulds,
Buts.
It's also full of emotion,
Anger,
Resentment,
Rejection,
Unworthiness,
Hurt,
Defensiveness.
Memory and fantasy play a big part as the full self lives in the past or in the future.
Regret of what has happened and fear of what might or might not.
So the true self is inherently fulfilled.
The true self has always been there and will always be there.
You just need to uncover it.
It's the bit of you that's unconditional love.
It's grounded,
Accepting,
Abundant,
Humble,
Loving and really okay with the world.
It doesn't need to be shown off,
Jazzed up or congratulated to feel good.
It just is.
For me,
Developing a better relationship with myself and learning the art of meditation,
All amazing parts of first steps really to true self esteem.
The last layer really did crack quite a way into my self help journey in just a few short days really.
I felt that to be very painful,
Very deep and very painful but it was productive and it felt totally right.
Once you cross over the bridge into your true self and you know when you do,
You have to rediscover it every day.
It's like a dance.
So if I may humbly make some suggestions how to guide yourself back to your true self.
One might be self awareness,
Asking yourself the right kinds of questions.
How do I feel about the world and others?
How do I feel about myself?
What's stopping me?
What's preventing me from releasing or letting go and so on.
So you follow the rabbit down the hole.
You can go even further by asking yourself what is the most unnecessary part of my life right now?
What is the most unnecessary part of my life right now?
What might you come up with now or later when you have some time to reflect?
The second might be be present and I know you've heard this before but you only have a limited amount of time here.
So each moment is to be truly relished even when life gets challenging and tough.
And the third one is every day spend just a few minutes leaving aside the things that are not really you.
Not really your natural,
Divine,
Mystical,
True self.
All those thoughts,
Feelings,
Things,
Things you have collected on your way that aren't really and truly you.
Leave them for a while.
Leave them aside for a few minutes and be quiet.
So go ahead with the rest of your day aware of how perfect you are and how perfect the world around you is.
And your rhythm,
Your unique rhythm will naturally symphonise with the beat of the universe.
Sat Naam.
