The purpose of this meditation is to help you let go,
Feel more centered and grounded,
And to help you deepen your experience of being in your body and to embrace the natural world around us.
It encourages the flow of life force,
Cultivates peacefulness and harmonizes the heart and the mind.
So take a few moments to make yourself as comfortable as possible.
You can sit or you can lay down,
Relax the arms and gently close the eyes down.
Take a long slow deep breath in,
Hold for a moment and then slowly exhale it out with a sigh,
Just allowing the tension to gently melt away gradually relaxing more and more deeply with each breath.
Take another long slow deep breath in,
Hold it and then sigh it out,
Emptying your lungs completely on the out breath.
Take a third deep breath in,
Hold it,
Take your time,
Then let it go from deep inside,
Relax,
Release.
Now imagine that you're sitting upon a rock near a beautiful flowing stream and as you look down into your hands you're holding on to some leaves that you picked earlier in the day as you're strolling the countryside.
It's a wonderful autumnal day and the sun is shining down making everything look crisp,
Warm and inviting.
You are relaxing,
Releasing and gently settling in to the changes of the seasons.
The water in the stream is flowing away from you with a soft gentle current.
Just notice the sounds from the running water and the sounds of the breeze rustling the leaves back and forth in the trees high above and it's quite hypnotic.
And the textures of the different varieties of mosses feel strangely comforting to the touch.
Now bring your attention back to the leaves in your hands.
Be aware of the texture,
The shape,
The weight,
The colour and the smells.
For the next few moments just allow any thoughts that enter the mind,
Any negative thoughts,
Any situations that's been getting you down,
Whether it's an environment,
A person,
Anything you need to let go of,
Just let it enter the mind.
Then imagine placing one of these thoughts gently upon a leaf and place it on the flowing stream and let it gently float away,
Float by.
Watch the leaf floating down the stream away from you and as the negative thoughts come into your mind place it on the leaf,
Place it on the stream and watch it float away.
Take a moment and repeat this process.
Do this with each thought that's painful,
That you feel a need to let go of.
It could be something quite recent or something that happened in the past.
Don't hang on to them,
Let them go,
Release.
Just acknowledge them,
Place them on the leaf and allow the stream to flow away at its own place as you let your negative thoughts,
Feelings let go.
Now breathe in the fresh autumnal air,
Feeling it infiltrate your body and cleansing throughout.
Imagine the wisdom of the seasons whispering in your ears and telling you things that you need to let go of.
It might be old grievances,
Clutter from your home or a job that no longer serves,
A toxic relationship.
Just write it on a leaf,
Let it go and repeat this process for a few moments more.
Now feel the stillness and the beauty of this place,
Let it soak into you and as you absorb all the stillness and the beauty,
You can feel all the tensions,
Anxieties,
Fears and stresses.
Just gently drain away,
Just easing away from you,
Draining out of you,
Far far away.
Feel yourself relaxing more and more,
Experiencing feelings of peace and tranquility as a wonderful,
Calm,
Deep sensation fills your entire body,
A deep letting go.
And breathe.
Breathe.
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath in and a deep breath out.
Again a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
And being gentle movement into the fingers and the toes and you may want to stretch and yawn.
And as you gently pull around,
Thank the universe from the bottom of your heart,
As it overflows with gratitude.
You are now open and in the receiving mode,
With love and appreciation always.
Namaste.
