When you focus on what you're grateful for,
You attract more of what you really want into your life.
This creates a positive feedback loop.
Find a comfortable position,
And let's take a few deep breaths together,
Focusing on the heart,
The center of love and gratitude.
Inhale deeply as you direct the breath into the heart.
As you slowly exhale through the nose,
Let the breath flow out through the back of your heart and move through you.
Inhale fully right into your heart center and allow the breath to flow out behind you like the wake of a boat.
One more time,
Take a big inhale,
Direct the breath into your heart center,
And as you exhale slowly,
Imagine the breath flowing out the back of your heart and fading out behind you.
Return to a normal breath.
Sometimes it can be difficult to feel grateful.
If you're feeling sad,
Angry,
Or dealing with the loss of a loved one,
Or a serious health condition,
It's important to acknowledge the difficulties you're going through and allow yourself to fully experience those emotions,
Appreciating all the tough lessons and difficulties you've had to endure.
Even when we're going through difficult times,
We can find people or things to be grateful for if we make a point of looking for them.
Let's cultivate gratitude together by starting with simple everyday things that you might take for granted.
The air you breathe.
The ability to take full deep breaths without effort.
Plenty of food to fill your belly.
Your warm bed.
Sipping a delicious cup of coffee or tea as you begin your day.
Take a moment now to think about things or people that brighten up your week,
That automatically bring a smile to your face whenever you think of them.
It could be something you see in nature,
Like a radiant sunset.
Or the feeling of giving someone a warm embrace.
Hugging a friend or family member.
Or snuggling with your furry pet.
As you think of what you're grateful for,
Notice the sensations in your body.
Perhaps a feeling of warmth or lightness moving through you.
Savor these moments of appreciation.
Gratitude is like a muscle.
The more you activate it,
The stronger it becomes.
Take a moment to feel thankful for simply being here,
For being alive in this moment.
You are not here by mistake.
Place your left hand on your heart,
With the left hand on the bottom and your right hand on top.
Imagine a warm golden light in your heart center.
And as you breathe in deeply,
Feel this light expand in all directions throughout your body.
And as you exhale slowly,
Imagine the light drawing inward and becoming stronger.
Inhale deeply,
Feeling a sense of love and thankfulness.
As you breathe out,
Slowly draw this loving energy back into your heart center,
As the light becomes stronger within you.
Now place your hands gently on your lap,
Facing upward,
As you continue to breathe slowly.
Thankfulness stems from the understanding that you are so deeply loved.
Bring to mind now someone you love unconditionally.
Someone who accepts you completely as you are.
Who always makes you feel valued,
Cared for and supported.
Picture their face.
Look softly into their eyes as they meet your gaze with kind,
Loving eyes.
Feel that deep sense of connection and say to them,
I love you.
I love you.
And I am so grateful for you.
I am so lucky to have you in my life.
Very slowly,
Bring your attention back to the center of the chest.
And once again,
Place your right hand over your left.
Allow your heart to swell with gratitude,
To expand.
And now shine a bright,
Warm light out to all the loving,
Special people in your life.
As you continue to breathe in and out,
Let this light grow brighter and more spacious.
Sending out this love and gratitude to the entire world around you.
Returning to a natural breath now,
Say to yourself,
I am grateful to be here.
I am grateful for the people who love and support me through hard times.
I am grateful for all the ups and downs of life that have made me who I am.
I am strong,
Resilient.
And I am thankful for all I have and all that I've experienced.
Gratitude changes everything.
It cultivates a sense of abundance and lightness,
Illuminating more sources of gratitude all around you.
You can increase your appreciation by expressing it to others and inspiring them to do the same.
Make gratitude a daily practice by setting aside a few minutes at the beginning or end of each day.
Allow yourself to feel love and appreciation for the present moment and begin to attract more of what you really want into your life.
Namaste.
