Welcome to this morning meditation.
If you're able to,
I invite you to create some type of grounding connection to nature before we begin.
So you can either take a seat on the floor or plant your barefoot feet firmly on the ground beneath you.
Maybe open a window or you can even complete this meditation outside.
And if these options aren't available to you,
That's okay.
What's most important is that you're here and comfortable.
As you come to find a seated position,
Take any subtle movements you need before finding stillness.
Gently close your eyes.
Your spine is straight and lengthened.
Roll your shoulders down your back,
Opening up your chest and heart space.
You can rest your hands in your lap or on your knees and rotate your palms facing down.
Start to drop in,
Arriving in the here and now,
Letting whatever is on your mind and all of what's going on in the outside world fall away.
As you're transitioning from rest and sleep,
Just allowing this gentle pause of peace and calm as you ease into the start of your day.
Together we'll take three cleansing breaths.
As you do so,
Imagine the air to be crisp and clear on your inhale,
And then imagine your exhale clearing out any impurities,
Fatigue or stagnant energy.
We'll do this together.
Inhale through the nose,
Deep into the belly,
Allowing the air to fill your chest,
And then slowly exhale the air out your mouth.
Again,
Deep breath in through the nose,
And deep exhale out through the mouth.
Once more,
Deep breath in through the nose,
And deep exhale out through the mouth.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Soften any areas where you find you're holding tension,
Especially in your face,
The muscles around your eyes and your jaw.
Release your neck and your shoulders,
Your hips and anywhere else you may feel tightness.
Relax the entirety of your body,
Allowing it to be weighted towards the earth.
Bring your awareness to each point of contact with the surface beneath you,
Feeling the connection and the way in which you're supported.
Notice the soles of your feet and each area that connects with the earth,
Your toes,
Your heels,
The outer and inner edges.
Visualize your soles firmly planted on soil.
Maybe you notice the soil is cool and damp,
Or maybe you can smell its earthiness.
Slowly tap into your senses here.
Now imagine strong,
Thick roots beginning to grow from the connect points of your feet deep into the earth.
These roots expand and extend in all directions beneath the surface,
Creating a solid foundation to which you are firmly anchored,
Rooted and connected.
Take the time to really feel the sensations of this connection.
Now notice the roots starting to take up a pure,
Cleansing white light deep from the earth's core.
The light travels upwards through the soles of your feet,
Your calves,
Moving up your spine,
All the way to the crown of your head.
This light offers you great healing,
Dissipating and dissolving any thoughts,
Feelings or energy that do not align with your greatest good.
Imagine the sensation of this healing energy and feel a comforting warmth throughout your body.
This channel of white light is strengthening your connection to the earth,
A sturdy pillar that keeps you anchored and focused in the present.
You are strong,
You are centered,
You are connected and grounded,
One with the earth.
Take a few moments to really solidify these feelings in your physical body.
Know that you can return to these feelings at any time during your day to allow you to tap into this sense of grounding.
Begin to take note of your surroundings.
Notice if you hear anything,
Sensing the environment around you.
Take any movement that your body needs in this moment.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes and may you carry peace with you wherever you go.
Thank you for listening.
