Hello and welcome to today's daily insight.
My name is Andrea Wachter and in today's meditation we will be focusing on connecting with intuition.
I hope this practice will enhance your ability to access your own heartfelt guidance.
There are many different words that people use to refer to their intuition.
Some call it inner knowing or their heart or their gut instinct.
Some call it their truth,
Inspiration,
Clarity,
Spirit or soul.
I like to call it our internal GPS.
I wonder how you refer to your intuition and where do you feel your intuition?
Some people feel it in their hearts or their bellies or their center or other parts of the body.
Some people simply have a deep sense of knowing and some people find their intuition more difficult to access but fortunately this is a skill we can learn and grow.
Let's try a little experiment.
I'd like to ask you to tune into your body right now and make sure that you are as comfortable as possible.
Make any small or significant adjustments to get yourself even more comfortable if you need to.
Now how did you know what to move or adjust?
Nobody told you.
You simply tuned inside and you knew.
Where did you get the clarity or the knowingness that told you how to move or to stay still?
That is your intuition.
Our intuition can guide us in areas as simple as how to shift our body position or what to eat for lunch and our intuition can guide us in major life decisions like whether or not a job,
A relationship or a home is right for us.
You might feel very connected to your intuition right now or you might feel distant and disconnected or you may be somewhere in between those two extremes.
Just like our connection to other people our connection with intuition can ebb and flow and grow.
Much like getting to know a new friend or reconnecting with an old friend we can do things to deepen our connection with our intuitive clarity.
Imagine a pipe going from your head to your heart.
Well in order to hear the messages in our hearts it helps to keep that pipe clear.
And how do we keep that pipe clear?
Well certainly not clogging it up with excessive substances,
Behaviors or thoughts can help.
And quieting our minds helps because if our minds are loud they drown out the soft knowingness in our hearts.
Some people are afraid to tune into their intuition because of what they might learn about themselves or their lives.
They may not be ready to make a change so it can sometimes feel easier to avoid knowing their deeper truth.
But it's important to know that you can keep your channel clear and hear your truth but not yet be ready to make a change or act on it.
It's okay to know and go at your own pace.
There's a quote I love that says go only as fast as the slowest part of you feels safe enough to go.
I like to use an example of a stoplight when I'm discussing intuition with my clients.
Sometimes we can tune inside and ask about a particular subject or situation and get a full-on green light.
Yes I totally want to do this.
I totally want to go to that party,
Eat that for dinner,
Go on this trip,
See this friend,
Take a walk.
Sometimes we tune in and get a clear red light.
No I totally do not want to do that.
I do not want to take on that project,
See that movie,
Stay up another hour,
Take that trip,
Date that person again.
In those instances we get crystal clear clarity and then we just need the courage to honor our truth.
Other times we might tune into our hearts about a situation and get more of a yellow light,
More of a I'm not sure.
I don't know if I want to do that,
Go there,
Accept that invitation,
Or see that person.
In those moments it's best to simply do the next thing in our day that feels the most loving and stay open for clarity.
So how do you tune into your intuition?
Some people practice meditation.
You're likely one of them if you're here on Insight Timer.
Some people like quiet contemplation or prayer,
Intention setting,
Journaling,
Spending time in nature,
Reading or listening to inspirational music or words.
Let's practice together quieting the mind and tuning into intuition.
In a moment I will be asking you to focus on some specific areas in your life.
I will say the area first and then I'll guide you to ask your heart the following question.
What do you want me to know?
Now a message might come to you and it might not.
You might sense or get a word,
A statement,
Or an image.
You might get an inclination to do or stop doing something.
You might not sense anything at all.
Whatever happens is totally fine.
Just stay open to clarity now or later.
Often our intuition is more of a feeling,
A sense,
Or an inner knowing rather than a thought in our heads.
So we'll just pose some questions and see what happens.
If you'd like you can close your eyes if they're not already closed and just notice the surface beneath you,
Whatever is holding you up.
And notice the surfaces around you,
Whatever you're touching,
Whatever is touching you.
And notice your body breathing.
Imagine clearing out your mind like you're airing out a room.
Picture imaginary doors and windows opening wide and allowing your entire mind to air out.
Just clear it out till all that's left is a body sitting or lying on a surface.
And now I'd like you to bring your attention to your heart,
Your soul,
Your inner knowing.
You can even place a hand on your heart if you'd like.
Try saying I am open to clarity.
Let's start with your health.
Think about the state of your health right now and tune into your heart and simply ask,
What do you want me to know?
What message do you have about me?
There's no right or wrong.
If something comes that's fine and if it doesn't that's fine.
We're just posing the question.
And now think about your self-care.
Tune into your heart and ask,
What do you want me to know about my self-care?
The way I care for my body and myself.
And now think about your emotions.
Ask your heart,
What do you want me to know about my emotions?
And now your home.
Tune into your heart and ask,
What do you want me to know about my home environment?
And now think about the topic of romance.
Tune into your heart and ask it,
What do you want me to know?
What message do you have for me about romance?
And now family.
Ask your heart,
What do you want me to know about the topic of family?
And now think about your friends.
Think about the topic of friends as you tune into your heart and ask it,
What do you want me to know about my friendships?
And now work.
Tune into your heart and ask it,
What do you want me to know about work?
What message do you have for me about work?
And now your finances.
Ask your heart,
What do you want me to know about my finances?
And just see if anything comes.
And finally think about the topic of fun.
Fun and play.
Tune into your heart and ask it,
What do you want me to know about fun?
About play?
Good.
Now I'd like you to gently return to the surroundings around you.
Whatever is touching you,
Whatever surfaces you can feel beneath you and around you.
And notice your body breathing.
You can give your body a little stretch if you'd like.
You may want to take a few moments after we're finished to do some writing,
If you got any clarity or messages from your intuition.
And if not,
I hope you will continue to foster and feed your connection with your intuition and to treat yourself with the utmost of kindness.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Namaste.
