So taking a nice deep breath in breathing out and leaving your eyes open today but if this feels a bit unsettling you're welcome to close them if you want to do whatever feels best and beginning by relaxing your face your neck your arms and hands inviting these parts of your body to find their natural resting place relaxing your upper and lower back your chest and your abdomen relaxing your legs and your feet and taking a deep breath in breathing out and allowing your whole body to sink into the surface that you're resting on now just looking around you becoming aware of all the objects in the space that you're in and noticing areas of light and shade of colour and dullness and be with that isness of whatever you notice and this may seem strange but letting go of the idea that there is someone watching noticing what it's like to witness as awareness and allowing this awareness to be with everything to be with the isness of what you witness you could bring your mind into your heart space if you want to and look out at the world from this place in presence with what is and if you want to allow your mind to go a little deeper into your heart space or just noticing the world from the centre of your chest noticing the sacredness,
The isness in everything the sky a chair a cushion a plant your hand a window a shadow a moment of silence and thoughts will come in perhaps a narrative this is great this is boring this is strange why am I doing this?
Noticing this narrative and then being the awareness more than the narrative that voice wants to be heard it knows that the only way it can exist is through your attention if you just leave it alone where are your life struggles and your stories right now?
What is there to lose in this moment?
What is really missing right now?
Where does your sense of this moment come from?
Does it come from yourself?
Or from what you witness?
Life unfolding no dramas no unfinished business and sensing the completeness in each moment just witnessing the world around you just atoms vibrating together and we are part of this not separate and at the deepest level what we witness is a mystery and now inviting you to fall back behind awareness almost aware of the one who is witnessing even behind consciousness sensing that one it doesn't need to be discovered it's always there what's left?
Perhaps emptiness perhaps kindness perhaps love just feeling what's left when it's all stripped away now inviting you to offer this moment a gentle inner smile or you can do a physical smile if you like no need to get too serious smiling at uncertainty of not knowing smiling at restlessness smiling back at boredom of longing of the sense of not feeling complete smiling back at every aspect of this gloriously bonkers existence that we call our life and now taking a deep breath in breathing out as we end this meditation
