Welcome to this gratitude meditation.

Gratitude is an emotion that arises naturally when we express sincere appreciation.

It's important to pause and to really take in space to receive the feelings of gratitude fully in our body,

Mind and spirit.

So to prepare for this meditation,

Go ahead and sit or lie down and make any adjustments necessary so you're as comfortable as possible.

As you settle in,

Give your body permission to relax.

Closing your eyes or softening your gaze,

Allow your limbs to lie limply and softly.

Allow your shoulders to drop.

Soften your mouth.

Allow your hips to settle and begin to connect with your breath.

Really noticing the rhythm of your breathing as you inhale and exhale.

Now let's deepen this experience by adding some pauses to the breath.

Let's find some stillness between the inhales and the exhales.

First simply notice the small pause at the top of the breath after the inhale and the pauses at the bottom of the breath after the exhale.

As you notice these pauses,

Take note of a sense of stillness.

Continue to practice this breathing method and start to notice a sense of gratitude filling you up within the space of stillness.

Throughout our busy lives,

We often don't have a chance to sit in stillness.

Yet with a relaxed body and a calm mind,

It's easier to sense stillness and to connect with a sense of gratitude.

Slowly breathe and experience the sensation of appreciation.

Let a sense of appreciation for all of life overcome you.

Let gratitude wrap around you like a warm blanket.

Be comfortable,

Relaxed,

And grateful.

Just noticing what it feels like to be grateful in general for no particular thing,

Simply full of gratitude and appreciation.

Take a few more moments to notice the sensation of appreciation and gratitude filling your body,

Filling all of your senses until you're full of gratitude and you're full of this wonderful warmth of appreciation.

Now allow your breath to return to a more natural state.

Easy inhales and easy exhales.

And as you open your eyes,

You can sustain the sense that you've cultivated from within of gratitude,

Appreciation,

Calm,

And ease.

And return to your surroundings feeling wide awake,

Energized,

And grateful for this practice.

May God bless you in your many blessings.
