Welcome to this meditation for letting go.
Let's come to a nice seated comfortable position.
Closing your eyes.
Let's focus on your breath.
Nice steady breath.
Four counts in through the nose.
Four counts out through the nose.
Relaxing those facial muscles.
And being mindful of anything weighing heavy on your heart or your mind today.
And just acknowledging how you feel.
Whatever your emotions are.
It's okay.
Just being mindful of those emotions in this moment.
Let's bring your hands in front of you with your elbows bent,
Palms facing up.
Resting your hands in your lap.
Or maybe just holding your hands in front of you.
Your hands are in cupping shape.
As if you were holding something precious or important to you in the palms of your hands.
Now let's imagine that whatever is weighing heavy on your heart or your mind today,
That this is what you're holding in your hands.
Imagine you're looking down at your hands as if you were outside your body.
Separating yourself from those emotions.
And then imagine you're letting go of those feelings.
Allowing them to drift away.
At least for this moment.
Only three things matter,
Said Buddha.
How much you loved.
How gently we lived.
And how gracefully we let go of things not meant for us.
Now take a moment here and be grateful for your life.
Even the trials,
The struggles,
And the disappointments.
For it's through these moments we have the opportunity to become a little stronger,
A little wiser,
A little kinder,
And therefore a little happier.
Let's bring your focus back to your breath.
And repeating to yourself a few times,
I am grateful.
I am grateful.
Being mindful of how you feel right now.
Let's end our practice by taking three breaths.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Today I choose to be grateful for everything I have.
Kind to myself and others.
Present here and now.
Namaste.
