Grounding In An Ungrounded World

In this podcast, I give examples of what we act like when we are grounded versus ungrounded. I describe what grounding can like in the energy field. I discuss how impossible it is to ground in these times and give some practical ways to stay grounded. I lead us in prayer to ask the Angels to help us maintain our grounding.

Welcome back to the Healing Room.

We're going to talk about being grounded.

So when everybody,

Most people are in fear or anxiety or worry because there's so much unknown happening right now around the world,

We tend to get ungrounded because when things are calm and safe,

Your energy just naturally drops and relaxes and moves all the way through the pelvis,

Through the legs,

Knees,

Calf muscles,

Ankles,

Feet down into the ground.

So then you are grounded.

Ungrounded means yikes,

Everything's unpredictable here on earth.

I'm going to try to get away from earth.

So I'm going to pull my root system or rays of light that shoot out of my feet.

I'm going to pull it upward so it becomes like a vine that is climbing my leg.

So the rays of light that normally shoot powerfully downward begin to curl and wind up the leg like vines.

It's like yikes,

Let's get out of here.

Let's get away from the earth.

Let's go back up where we came from.

So how do we stay grounded when everyone around us is ungrounded?

For example,

If I were to have you stand in the middle of a basketball gymnasium and I filled that place with a crowd of people that were so afraid and ungrounded.

And so you could just feel this mass amount of hysteria around you.

It would be super hard for you to stay calm.

But that's what's happening right now.

Every time you open your Facebook,

For example,

You're picking up on lots of crazy,

Dangerous feelings.

So some of the things that I do to make sure I stay grounded are,

Of course,

Limit my time looking at things.

I like to look at what's happening quickly in the news just to get an idea and then do one of those daily action things where you call your senator or you enter an address into your contacts for future reference or you make another call and you stand up for this or that or you sign a petition.

But it just turns it into action for me.

And then I feel like,

OK,

I'm done for the day as far as politics go or the world.

I'm finished for the day.

Back to my regular work where I'm helping people with their spiritual selves,

With their energetic connection to themselves and to the earth.

Another way that I make sure,

Practically speaking,

That I stay grounded is in the middle of my day,

I rush out the door and take a quick,

Fast dog walk.

That way the dogs get walked.

I get to get some sunshine in the middle of my day.

And I'm sure that I'm grounded because when we're not up and moving around,

If our work is sitting or at a desk,

We're not using our legs.

We're not pumping energy through them.

When we swing our arms and we swing our legs,

Energy gets unstuck.

It gets flowing.

Another way that I stay grounded is that I thought,

Hmm,

If I could jump up and down on one of those mini trampolines,

That will be so fast and easy.

I could just jump for one to two minutes while my hot water is boiling or something.

So I went to one of those neighborhood sites online and said,

Hey,

Does anyone have a mini trampoline?

Within 24 hours,

Someone put one by my front door.

Not only did they leave me a mini trampoline,

But it's red.

It does not match anything in my house.

I wanted a silver one,

But it totally works.

So I'm down there jumping between sessions just to make sure that I'm in my body.

We can kind of hang out attached to our body.

Think of it as you've got your physical form and there's this kind of long oblong bubble of light,

Of energy hanging out around your upper back and chest and shoulders and head.

And then it sticks up far above your head because it's supposed to be shoved down into your form,

All the way down to your feet and past your feet.

So the energy field should look like a bubble around you or an egg around you.

And then there's also another level that's like the shape of your body and that's supposed to fit down into your skin,

Fit into your legs.

And we get so busy thinking and talking and discussing and using all of our mental capacity to push our way through this life that we sometimes forget to just be,

To just drop down into the human form and just be,

Just breathe,

Just be in our skin,

Just be in the moment.

Look around,

See the textures,

The colors of the wall,

Of the table and just feel.

And that's what it feels like to be grounded.

When we're grounded,

We feel really calm.

We feel really comfortable and content.

Being grounded means you're kind of cool because when everybody else is freaking out,

You're not.

I learned that when I was a little kid.

I hung out with a lot of guys,

A lot of boys because girls were just a little bit too prissy and they always wanted to play house.

So I had all guy friends and there were these two boys at our house visiting our family and something happened to their parents on the way to come get them.

So it turns out they were stuck at our house or something,

But whatever it is that was delaying their mom and dad made me freak out.

I remember just being like,

Oh my God,

Really?

What happened?

Oh no.

And they all looked at me like they were super cool and I was being a girl.

And that's the moment I learned,

Okay,

That was not cool to get all filled with anxiety and panic and gossipy.

It just wasn't cool.

And I wanted to be like them,

Strong,

Powerful,

Not prissy.

So I took that on right then and there.

You can't keep going along and panic when you're grounded.

When you're grounded,

Think of it as all the stuck energy in your mind,

In your head drops downward and flushes itself out like a river through the body.

It just gets unclogged so that you can think.

You can suddenly think of all kinds of options and solutions to any problem.

So let's pray about this.

We ask that our spirit guides and our angels move around us and we ask that they remove all fear from our shoulders.

We ask that whatever is keeping us from grounding,

From dropping our energy down into the legs and feet,

We ask that the space is cleared within us and around us.

I want you to imagine that there are layers and layers of energy around you that is your personal space or your energy bubble,

But it's filled with everybody else's chaos from the day.

It's filled with the news.

It's filled with gossip.

It's filled with other people's fears and worries.

And we're going to ask the angels and the spirit guides to flush these layers out,

To pull away from us,

Anything distracting us,

Anything throwing us off balance,

Anything keeping our breath from being deep and easy.

We ask anything stressing us out to be removed,

To be taken from our energy field.

We ask that all anxiety that's keeping us from relaxing is removed.

We lift it up to you.

We lift it up to you,

God.

We lift it up to the light.

We lift it up to the angels.

We hand it over to them,

All of this stress.

And we just ask that we're cool.

We just ask that we're able to handle anything,

That we're calm,

That we're unattached,

That we're just filled with God's light and God's love.

And we just let go of everything else.

We ask that we're able to go with the flow.

We ask that we're able to notice the moment and recognize what our part is in the moment,

Recognize what action to take in the moment.

We ask that our energy fields flow,

Meaning the energy from our feet to our head,

Head to our feet,

Is flowing so that nothing gets trapped or stuck in it,

That we're able to roll with the punches on this earth,

On this planet.

We ask our team of angels and guides to move around us.

We ask them to bring us a calm energy right now.

We ask them to ground us right now.

We ask them to relax us right now.

When we feel like we can't get grounded,

We just ask you,

Our angels and our guides,

To do it for us.

We ask you to move around us and to reset our energy fields,

To reset the flow of energy through our bodies,

To unblock anything in our way of feeling calm,

Collected,

Grounded,

Happy,

Secure,

Confident,

Powerful.

We give thanks.

Thanks be to the light.

Thanks be to God.
