This embodied movement practice uses somatic tools to help you transform a limited, contracted version of yourself—one you recognize as a place you often get stuck and are ready to shift. Through guided exploration, you’ll deepen your understanding of this pattern, working to open it up, process its history, and release trapped energy. This practice supports you in digesting the past and returning to a freer, more authentic connection to your true Self.

Hello and welcome.

This embodiment practice can be used anytime to tend to the parts and pieces of you that feel less than the truth of who you really are.

The limited versions of ourselves that we can get really stuck in and judge.

The insecure one,

The angry resentful one,

The numb defeated lost one,

The ashamed afraid one.

Whatever part of you feels sticky today or that you want to work with,

This practice is meant to support you in turning towards that version of yourself and offering it what it needs.

And in doing that,

Creating more integration and trust and a deeper capacity to live from more of your wholeness,

More of the truth of who you really are.

So you will want a part,

A limited self to work with today.

Maybe it's something that you're stuck in right now,

Maybe it's one that's very familiar,

One that you want to specifically work with today.

And you want to choose something that feels doable.

So feeling into your capacity today and feeling into what feels doable from that capacity.

So you might take some time right now to journal or to feel into a limited version of you,

A contracted version of you that you want to work with.

When you're ready,

You will stand,

Finding your feet,

Taking a nice full deep breath,

And you'll slowly start to invite this version of you in to start to embody it.

Really taking your time here,

Letting the body slowly show you what is this like when I'm stuck in this limited self.

What is it like?

Taking your time being curious.

What does it feel like in the body?

What is it like to be you?

What do you believe about yourself,

About the world,

About others?

What are the physical sensations,

The qualities of energy?

Maybe there's images or thoughts or feelings.

What's happening in your body?

Seeing if you can really get a sense of what this is like at a body level,

At a sensation level,

At an energy level.

Is it tight?

Is it heavy?

Is it hot?

Cold?

Dense?

Thick?

Noticing how the world around you feels,

How the space around you feels.

We won't stay here long,

But just for a few more moments,

Really feel.

How's it like to be you?

And how do you feel towards this version of you?

And then for just five seconds,

You're gonna lean into it.

You're gonna over-effort this shape that your body takes.

You're gonna feel really deeply what this is like in your body for a few more breaths.

Then you're gonna trust your practice.

You're gonna trust your body.

And on the inhale,

You're leaning in.

And on the exhale,

You're slowly undoing,

Slowly softening,

Leaning in and out.

Just this slight moving into it and out of it until something else starts to happen.

Until the breath gets deeper.

Until some part of you starts to move or the energy starts to change or shift.

Taking your time to find one opening and follow it.

Trusting the body,

Deepening the breath,

Following the energy.

Really letting the body lead.

Trusting your instincts.

Keep following what's unfolding moment to moment using breath,

Sound,

And movement.

Meeting whatever is here in a physical way as a body.

Starting to open up this shape.

Moving through whatever layers are here.

Starting to undo where the energy is contracted or stuck.

Starting to alchemize,

Liberate,

And meet whatever might arise,

Whatever is here.

With your breath,

With your movement,

With your sound,

Saying yes.

Continuing to let the body lead.

Allowing movement,

Allowing sound,

Allowing expression.

Allowing yourself to feel,

But continuing to make it physical.

Where in my body is the energy?

How can I move?

How can I say yes?

How can I meet what is here as a body?

And starting perhaps to bring more energy,

More breath,

More parts of you alive.

So where in your body does it still feel a little offline?

Maybe bringing some movement there,

Some touch,

Some sound.

Becoming more physical,

More alive,

More here.

If it feels right,

You might let continuous movement all over your body,

Your face,

Down to your toes.

Might feel good to tap or shake your body.

Maybe take up space,

Energize the air around you.

Trusting what feels right.

Bringing some more life to what is here.

And if this feels really good,

You can keep going and pause the recording.

If you're ready to start to transition to what's next,

You're going to pause.

And to find your feet,

To really feel your strong spine to inhabit the full length.

Allowing the soft front and the radiant heart and that strong spine.

And really feeling who's here now.

What is it like to be you now?

Is there more of you?

Is there more energy?

Is there less?

What's here?

And then out in front of you,

You're going to see that limited self,

That part of you that you began with.

They can be as far away or as close as you need.

Feel the space between you.

And just notice what you notice.

Remembering to find that spine,

To feel your feet,

To breathe.

If you notice some enmeshment or the space getting blurry between you.

Stay with yourself as you look at this part of you.

Really see them.

Then you're going to start to feel into what do they need?

What does this part of you need?

Trust what you're sensing.

Do they need protection?

Safety?

Love?

Connection?

Sweetness?

Compassion?

What do they need?

And you're going to start to feel if there's any part of you that can offer this piece,

This part,

What it needs.

A part of you that can give this part what it needs.

Even if it's just a little bit.

Is there a part of you that can really offer this limited self what it needs?

If it feels too far away,

Can you imagine what it would be like to feel a part of you being able to offer what it needs?

Or maybe you bring in a resource that is bigger than you that can really give this piece,

This part,

This limited self what it needs.

Whatever you're sensing,

Really trust.

Trust in your capacity to give this piece,

This limited self what it needs.

And in whatever way feels right,

Begin to offer this part what it needs.

Through movement,

Through imagery,

Through sound,

Through breath,

Through words,

Through imagination,

Trust yourself.

Keep giving this part of you what it needs.

Keep following what's unfolding.

Keep loving this part.

It's okay that it exists.

It's okay that it's here.

It's a part of you,

But it is not all of you.

Keep trusting your instincts,

Breathing,

Moving,

Sounding,

Keep following what wants to happen next.

You can stay with what's unfolding.

You can keep giving this piece what it needs.

Or maybe you bring in a resource for it,

Or for you,

Or for both of you.

Just keep following and trusting for a few more breaths,

Allowing this to unfold.

And if that part feels complete,

You can simply start to move,

Or breathe,

Or sound in whatever way the body's asking for.

It's taking some time here to integrate the energy,

To let the body do anything else that it wants to.

Full permission here.

Letting the body lead,

Following your intuition and trust moment to moment.

And you can pause the recording if you want to stay here,

Or if you're ready,

You can start to slow it down.

Taking a nice,

Full,

Juicy,

Nourishing breath into all the parts of you,

All the pieces of you.

Feeling what it's like right now in your body.

The sensations,

The energy.

What does it feel like to be you now?

And then when you're ready,

Finding a place to lay down,

To rest,

And integrate this practice.

Taking the rest of this song to really just be held by the earth,

To let the energy soak into your bones.

Feeling how your body might want to rest,

If it wants to curl up,

If you want a blanket,

If you want a cocoon,

If you want to spread out.

Just letting your body receive this practice.

And when the song ends,

You might want to take some time to journal or reflect,

Or maybe give yourself some loving words or touch,

Or go outside,

Or anything else that feels right for you.

Taking this time to rest and integrate.
