Welcome to this guided meditation for grief.
Navigating the loss of your mother.
Losing your mother can be a life-altering experience.
This gentle journey is designed to help you navigate through all of the emotions that you may be going through during this profound time of grief.
The sweet and tender moments of reflection.
The overwhelming feelings of finality.
The suffocating reality of it all.
Of how to fill this void.
And the times you feel like you are being ripped at the core.
Just know it is completely natural and expected to be enveloped in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions and not know where to turn.
I am recording this two months after the loss of my own mother to Alzheimer's disease.
So I know.
I hope this meditation can provide you with some peace and comfort and healing.
Even if it's just for right now.
So let's begin.
Please find a quiet and comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
You can sit or lie down.
Just find a position that feels natural to you.
And when you're ready,
Just gently close your eyes.
And allow your body to soften.
Let's begin with three breaths that will be in the nose and out the mouth.
Merging the body,
Mind and spirit.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Inhaling fully and completely.
And as you exhale through your mouth,
Release any tension.
And allow your body to relax.
Inhale again,
Nice and full.
And as you exhale,
Give yourself permission to surrender.
One more time,
Big inhale.
And as you exhale,
Set the intention to allow yourself to be relieved of this pain.
Even if it's just for right now.
Just start to notice your breath.
Breathing in and out of the nose.
Just notice the gentle rise and fall of your belly.
And begin to slowly lengthen your inhales and exhales.
Slow,
Fluid breaths.
As you inhale deeply,
Allow your chest to rise.
Filling up the lungs,
Filling up the belly.
And as you exhale slowly,
Allow your chest to fall.
Letting the lungs deflate.
Letting the belly soften.
Continue to breathe in and out your nose.
And with each breath,
Imagine that you are drawing in peace and love and ease and grace.
Imagine you are being immersed in a healing golden light.
Let it wash over you and around you.
Hold you and protect you.
Breathing deeper and slower.
Inhaling peace and love and ease and grace.
And as you exhale,
Release regret,
Pain,
Fear.
Just try to let it go for just right now.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.
And imagine roots extending out the soles of your feet.
Moving through the rocks and the dirt.
And the crystalline layer.
And the water.
Flowing down and grounding you deep into Mother Earth.
Stabilizing you.
Allow the beautiful energy of Mother Earth to cocoon you.
To hold you.
To comfort you.
To love you.
Feel her stability.
Feel her strength.
As your own mother may have done.
Allow her to nurture you.
As you continue to breathe and soften.
Just notice any thoughts that may arise.
Maybe you're being flooded with memories.
Or feelings of bittersweet joy.
Maybe feelings of anger are coming to the surface.
Let it out.
Maybe sadness is suffocating you.
Release it.
Keep breathing.
Just imagine these thoughts floating away into the ethers.
Taken away by the clouds.
Or floating away on a leaf in the wind.
Or flowing away downstream in a river.
Acknowledge your feelings and make peace with them.
Knowing that they are a part of your journey.
Now bring into your mind's eye all the love and the beautiful memories you shared with your mom.
Allow these memories to warm your heart.
Knowing while she may not be physically present.
Her love does remain.
And is a constant source of comfort you can draw from.
Nothing except the love created in the womb that created you.
Allow the fog of overthinking to be cleared away.
Just imagine a breeze coming in as it lightens the burden of these circling thoughts.
Allow yourself to embrace this present moment in all its perfect imperfection.
In all its glory.
In all its grace.
Allow yourself to imagine your mom holding your hand right now.
Imagine her smiling and happy and healthy and free.
Maybe place your hands on your heart.
And imagine her hands over yours.
Knowing that you are always connected.
She brought you into this world,
Into this physical existence.
And you are always,
Always intertwined.
That love does not die.
Just know that this is part of the natural evolution.
The natural progression of life.
And acknowledging that,
Yes,
This hurts.
And give yourself permission to truly feel the pain.
Where do you feel it in your body?
Do you feel it in your heart?
In your solar plexus?
In your lower back?
In your throat?
Wherever it is,
Just acknowledge it.
And then thank it.
And then consciously release it.
I release you with peace.
I release you with love.
I release you with ease.
I release you with grace.
And I'm grateful for the time we had on this earthly plane.
Thank you,
Mother.
Thank you for nurturing me and caring for me in the best way that you knew how.
Thank you for instilling morality,
Integrity,
Honesty in me.
Whatever the case may be,
Give thanks.
Thank your mom,
Living or beyond,
For the gifts she's given to you.
The gift of life.
The gift of breath.
The gift of your beating heart within you.
Thank her for being the matriarch of your soul family.
Give yourself permission to feel.
To feel the grief and allow it to process through your body.
Allow it to move through your cells as you are grounded to Mother Earth.
Sending the grief down through your body,
Out the soles of your feet,
Down your grounding cord.
And sending it down into Mother Earth.
And let her hold it.
Let her take it from you.
It's okay.
You are loved and supported by Mother Earth.
By your parents,
By your soul,
Your higher self,
Your angels and guides.
By your heart.
As you breathe in deeply,
Bring in this cleansed and illuminated energy.
Imagine breathing it all the way up deep from within Mother Earth and up your body.
Exhale it out the crown of your head with a sigh.
And imagine this cord being connected way up high into the angelic realms.
And then bring it all the way back down through your body.
Back down to the core of Mother Earth.
As above and so below,
You are grounded.
You are uplifted.
You are connected.
You are held.
You are seen.
You are safe.
You are supported.
And you are infinitely loved.
It's okay.
Allow yourself to feel all of this love flowing around you.
The love of your mother.
The love of your ancestors.
And again,
Allow yourself to forgive.
Forgive yourself.
Forgive them.
Forgive the circumstances.
Every experience we go through is for the evolution of our consciousness.
The evolution of our soul's journey.
And ask yourself,
What did I learn from this experience?
Maybe you learned that the heart has this huge capacity to love.
And if it hurts like this,
If it hurts this much,
It's because you loved equally that much.
Allow this love that flows through your aching heart to be the same love that heals it.
Allow this love in your heart to expand through your body.
Moving it into all of your cells and the spaces in between.
Into the connective tissues.
The ligaments,
The tendons,
The bones.
Allow it to flow through all of your organs.
All of your glands.
All of your body systems.
Allow it to move into the subcutaneous tissues of your skin.
Into the fascia.
And then move it outwards into the dermis.
Into the epidermis.
And allow it to flow out through every single cell.
Sending it out into the world.
And as you send this love and light out into the world,
You can heal and give yourself some grace.
Everything does not need to dissolve right now.
But maybe right now you can feel some relief.
Some relief in knowing that you are not alone in this journey.
Knowing that you can come back to this moment.
Come back to this meditation.
Come back to your breath.
Come back to the love of yourself.
Of your mother.
Reminding yourself that everything is happening in divine order.
And this grief you are experiencing will transmute.
Will transform.
And eventually you will come to a place of peace.
Maybe it's not today.
But in the meantime,
Allow yourself to come into a moment of tranquility.
Of respite.
Be grateful for the love.
For the memories.
Just imagine your mom.
Or any lost loved one.
Giving you a big spiritual hug right now.
Feel their love.
Just allow yourself to bask in the beauty of this tender moment.
Just breathe.
Just be.
Continue to rest in the glory of this golden healing light.
And the beautiful healing frequencies of compassion and forgiveness.
Gratitude.
And surrender.
Peace and love.
And ease.
And grace.
When you're ready.
Just bring your awareness.
Back into the room.
Back into your body.
Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
Rock your head from side to side.
Take one final big breath in.
And exhale with a sigh.
Slowly open your eyes.
And smile at the knowing that your mother's love is always with you.
Remind yourself,
I am grateful for the love that we share.
I am grateful for the memories.
I am grateful for this light.
I am grateful for all the experiences that have made me who I am today.
Thank you so much for practicing with me today.
I hope that this was helpful in assisting you to navigate through the grieving process.
And helping you to release and relieve some pain.
Know that you can come back to this meditation at any time.
And continue to heal.
The light in me humbly bows to the light in you.
Namaste.
