Transcript
Ho'oponopono is a beautiful and sacred ancient prayer that cleanses,
Restores,
And assists with reconciliation,
Helping to cultivate self-love and forgiveness.
The Hawaiian word ho'oponopono translates into English simply as correction.
Ho'o means to make,
And pono means right.
The repetition of pono means doubly right,
Or being right with both self and others.
Being pono means being in perfect balance and alignment with all things in life.
Having a life of righteousness,
Setting an intention of forgiveness,
Releases suffering,
Creating inner peace,
And restoring balance within ourselves.
And emotional freedom is the most generous act of self-love that we can give ourselves.
It is our perception of a situation or circumstance that creates our reality.
Our thoughts surrounding it are what creates the feeling or emotion that we experience.
The external world will continue to unfold as it will.
We cannot change or control this.
But it is up to us to choose how we want to feel or respond.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Let's use this inspiring mantra to cultivate forgiveness and peace within for the things in life that we are most grateful for.
So if not in a comfortable,
Seated position already,
I invite you to situate yourself as so.
Once you are settled in,
Relaxing the mind,
Relaxing the body,
Place your awareness on the breath,
Feeling the rise and fall of your chest with the inhalation and exhalation.
Feeling the belly expand and contract.
Release all tension from the body,
Bringing your shoulders down away from your ears,
Elongating your spine,
Growing taller in your seated position.
Unclenching your jaw,
Chin tilted down slightly.
Feel the breath move through your body.
As you allow yourself to sink deeper into the surface you are sitting on.
As your breathing begins to deepen,
Become mindfully present in this moment.
Hear the mind becoming the observer of the thoughts that arise rather than passing judgment upon them.
You are not one with these thoughts.
Allow your mind to act as an open door that lets them simply pass through.
You see,
When we don't attach a feeling or emotion to our thoughts,
They will exit quickly.
Use the breath as an anchor that keeps your awareness aligned in this present moment.
Use life force prana that flows energetically throughout your body.
Inhaling in deeply.
Exhaling out fully.
As you continue breathing deeply,
Anchoring and grounding down into your body,
I invite you to allow some things you are grateful for to come to the forefront of your mind.
Shelter,
Food,
Fresh water,
Family and friends,
Mental and physical health,
Mother Earth.
Envision these things for which you are grateful in your mind's eye.
Taking a deep breath in.
Exhaling out with a gentle sigh.
Allow yourself to feel the sensation of gratitude so strongly that it resonates throughout your entire being.
Let us now begin our ho'oponopono,
Prayer in gratitude.
Let us give thanks for our needs being met.
The roof over our head that provides shelter,
Safety and security.
The foods we eat that provide us with nourishment.
The water we drink that quenches our thirst while keeping ourselves and organs replenished and healthy.
The clothes on our backs that keep us warm.
Let us be grateful for the knowingness that there is and always will be enough.
Grateful for abundance and blessings that sometimes present themselves in the rarest of forms.
Personal treasures left to be uncovered in the present moment stillness of a glorious day.
And now,
For all those times when we lacked appreciation for all that we have.
When we compare what we have to that of others.
When we took for granted the luxuries of a pillow to lay our head on,
Wonderful foods to enjoy,
Fresh water to drink,
Clean clothes to wear.
For any time,
We were not appreciative and deeply grateful for all that we have.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Deep inhale in,
Full exhale out.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Let us give thanks for our physical bodies that keep us alive.
Our internal organs that are consistently working to keep our physical vessels regulated.
Our eyes which may grant us vision to enjoy beautiful surroundings before us.
Our ears which turn sounds into conversations and melodies into opportunities to dance.
Our taste buds that allow us to truly enjoy our favorite foods.
Let us be grateful for those smile lines on our faces.
Letting them fondly remind us of fun times and long laughs with family and friends.
Grateful for our scars.
Allowing these battle marks to be worn as a badge of honor.
Grateful.
Representing that we have triumphed and overcome those challenges that once stood before us.
And now for those times when we did not treat our bodies with respect.
When we did not speak to ourselves with compassion and kindness.
When we did not honor our hunger and thirst signals.
When we did not rest even though our bodies were indicating to us that we needed to slow down and take a breather.
For any time we may have knowingly or unknowingly damaged our physical vessels.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Deep inhale in.
Full exhale out.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Let us give thanks for the positive relationships that we have with our friends and family.
Feeling grateful for the ability to build and strengthen these relationships.
Developing stronger connections not only with family and friends but also with those we meet along the way.
For those times when our efforts are met with mutual effort.
Allowing love,
Generosity,
And a sense of value to radiate outward positively.
For those random and simple acts of kindness bestowed upon us from others.
The times when we are shown genuine care and appreciation.
Let us be grateful for smiles shared,
Laughter that brought us to tears,
Memories cherished,
And photos that will allow us to look back on those cherished memories for years to come.
Thank you for those friends and family who,
Although may no longer be with us on this earth,
Helped us to become the people we are today through our experiences with them.
Celebrate those lives lived by remembering fondly all the good times spent.
And now,
For those times when we allowed our personal boundaries to be disrespected or when we may have knowingly or unknowingly disrespected the boundaries of another.
When we took our frustrations from the day out on others,
Knowing that whatever had occurred to cause our frustration was not their fault.
When our actions,
Knowingly or unknowingly,
Caused another,
Either emotional or physical pain.
For any time when we have felt jealousy or envy toward another.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Deep inhale in.
Full exhale out.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Let us give thanks for nature and Mother Earth.
The animals that make this earth their home.
Helping all ecosystems and human beings to thrive.
The peace and tranquility we receive in nature.
A space where we can escape and rejuvenate.
The resilience of Mother Earth and her ability to adapt and survive.
Let us be grateful for this earth we walk upon.
Appreciating nature's beauty in all its splendor.
Taking time to ground and connect with Mother Earth.
Embracing oneness and allowing a return to balance.
As we remain grateful for all the wonderful,
Nourishing foods she provides.
And now,
For those times when we did not protect and conserve the environment.
For all the times that natural resources have been misused.
For all the times an innocent animal was injured or had its home taken away due to human action.
For all the times our food has been mistreated with pesticides and not able to be served organically.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Deep inhale in.
Full exhale out.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
As you begin to slowly come back into your body,
Allow this essence of gratitude to remain in the forefront of your mind.
Gently wiggling the fingers and toes.
Rocking your head from side to side.
You can open your eyes.
Know that as we shine our light in these dark places that need love,
Acknowledgement,
And compassion by seeking forgiveness,
We are unifying together to heal the collective.
And know that through holding this powerful resonance of gratitude and allowing it to shine outwardly,
All has been forgiven.
Thank you for sharing in this whole oponopono practice with me today.
Thank you for shining your light to assist in collective healing so that together we can create a happier and healthier earth and coexistence for future generations to come.
Thank you for honoring that space within yourself of gratitude and forgiveness.
The light within me honors the light within you.
Namaste.
