This meditation begins with a brief neuroscience-based explanation of the purpose and benefits of this practice. The practice begins with a guided visualization, leading to a deeply relaxed and open-minded state where the brain can easily incorporate these positive thoughts and messages about the self.

In today's practice,

We're going to be getting some experience with affirmation meditations.

And I hope to add some more specific affirmation meditations in the future for various specified groups such as moms,

For people trying to achieve goals,

For business owners,

Etc.

But for today,

We're going to be doing a really nice all-encompassing affirmation exercise that should be suitable for almost anybody.

The focus being on improving self-esteem,

Positivity,

And gratitude.

So with today's meditation,

I want to give a little bit more explanation as to why we might use affirmation meditations.

First,

We're going to be using meditation as a tool to initially relax the brain and relax the body.

And then we're going to be introducing some affirmations near the end of the session.

And if you're not familiar with what affirmations are,

They are quite simply short little positive messages about ourselves.

And these little messages can be really powerful in helping to improve mindset,

Change negative thought patterns,

Rewrite old narratives or beliefs about ourselves,

Help us work towards specific goals,

And overall just improve our self-esteem and self-worth.

We use affirmations quite often in our work with clients individually,

And we might assign them as part of their daily self-care routines or as a part of their overall treatment plan.

But they can also be very beneficial in addition to a meditation session.

And this is because of how we understand the brain and how the brain works.

So when we are in a nice,

Relaxed mental state through the use of meditation,

What we're doing is we're turning down the volume on the thinking part of our brain or the frontal lobe of our brain.

And through this,

We are able to turn up the volume on the subconscious mind and bring it more to the forefront.

And by imprinting positive messages into the subconscious mind,

We are able to do this without all the chatter,

Negative thoughts and beliefs from the thinking part of our brain that we usually experience in our day-to-day life.

So we are able to make real change in the way that we think about ourselves,

Our lives,

And our world by imprinting these positive messages when we're in a nice,

Deeply relaxed state through meditation.

People find this type of meditation to be quite powerful and many say life-changing.

We recommend making affirmation meditations a regular part of your practice,

Especially if you're experiencing a low point or feel like you could just use a boost in your self-esteem,

Your self-worth,

Or if you're working towards something specific as a goal.

Hope you enjoy.

Begin by getting comfortable.

You may sit down or lie down for this meditation,

Just making sure to be as comfortable as possible.

Starting to let any obvious areas of tension leave the body.

Taking a nice deep breath in through the nose,

Filling up deeply,

Fully,

And holding,

And slowly releasing through the mouth,

Feeling the relief that brings.

Once again,

Inhaling fully and deeply,

Holding,

And letting it go with a sigh.

Last one here.

Inhaling fully.

Hold,

And letting go.

Beginning to imagine yourself standing at the top of a beautiful stairway.

This stairway can be real or imagined,

Indoors,

Outdoors,

Whatever comes to mind first,

Don't overthink it.

And imagining that at the bottom of this stairway is a state of ultimate peace,

Calm,

And relaxation.

And taking a mental note of how you're feeling right now,

Standing at the top of this stairway.

Noting how you feel physically,

Emotionally,

Mentally.

No need to judge or change the current situation,

Just taking a mental note.

And imagine yourself taking one step down the stairway,

One single step closer to relaxation.

And as you take this step,

Notice your arms relaxing,

Becoming heavy,

Limp,

Loose,

And relaxed from the shoulders all the way to the fingertips.

You're descending the stairway,

Going down towards relaxation.

Down,

Down,

To a state of calm and relaxation.

Feel your legs relaxing,

Becoming limp.

Your legs are feeling very heavy,

So heavy.

Feel your legs sinking down.

Heaviness,

Pulling your legs down into relaxation.

Picture yourself going slowly down the stairway,

One step at a time.

It is a comfortable and safe descent to a place of relaxation.

Going down,

Step by step,

At your own pace,

Becoming more and more relaxed with each step that you take.

Feeling that heaviness in your arms and legs.

Your arms are so warm,

So heavy.

Feel gravity pull on your arms gently,

Pulling your shoulders down into a relaxed position.

Taking another step down,

And another.

More deeply relaxed with each step.

Feeling your neck and back relaxing,

Feeling warm,

Loose,

Relaxed.

You may even notice yourself becoming a bit sleepy as you get closer and closer to relaxation.

And that's okay.

Allowing your mind to drift,

Your body to relax.

Heavy and comfortable.

Your head and face relax.

Feeling the muscles of your face becoming limp,

Soft,

Relaxed.

Your eyelids are very heavy.

It feels so good to close your eyes.

The eyelids are so heavy,

You couldn't even keep them open if you tried.

So heavy and relaxed.

Moving down the stairway.

Down,

Down.

Almost to the bottom now.

When you reach the bottom,

You'll be pleasantly relaxed.

The closer you get to the bottom,

The heavier and more relaxed you feel.

Your body is so heavy,

But at the same time feels light,

As if it's floating.

It's an unusual feeling,

But pleasant.

So peaceful.

Drifting in calm relaxation.

Taking the last few steps down to the bottom of the stairway.

Sinking into relaxation.

So heavy and relaxed.

Reaching the bottom now.

A state of calm and relaxation.

You are now feeling very peaceful and relaxed.

I'll now begin to state some affirmations.

You don't have to listen or pay attention.

You can simply relax while I talk.

Just allowing the mind to drift and reflecting upon these affirmations in the back of your mind with your subconscious.

You can take in any of the affirmations you choose and disregard any that don't feel like a fit for you.

Just relaxing now and let your mind drift for the remainder of this meditation.

At the end of the script,

I'll count back from five to one and you can choose to reawaken or drift off to sleep.

For now,

Just relax.

Letting your mind drift.

There is nothing you need to do.

Nothing you need to focus on.

Just relaxed and calm.

Letting these words drift in your mind without needing to focus especially on any of them.

I am a worthwhile person.

I deserve to be happy.

I deserve good things.

I love myself for who I am.

I am capable and strong.

I can do anything I set my mind to.

I feel good about myself.

I take good care of myself.

I attract only the most positive people into my life.

I have deep unconditional love for myself.

I live in the present and am confident in my future.

I exude confidence.

I radiate love and respect and in return I get love and respect.

I am full of gratitude for my wonderful life.

I accept help,

Support and love from others.

I trust my intuition and I always make wise decisions.

I have the power to create all the success and prosperity that I desire.

I can let go of old negative beliefs that have stood in my way in the past.

I accept myself.

I am self-reliant,

Creative and persistent in whatever I do.

Continue to allow your mind to drift as you just relax.

Allowing these affirmations to be true for you.

Repeating them silently in your mind if you want to or simply taking them in.

I am a worthwhile person.

I deserve to be happy.

I deserve good things.

I love myself for who I am.

I am capable and strong.

I can do anything I set my mind to.

I feel good about myself.

Continue allowing your mind to drift.

Relaxing.

Letting the affirmations to become true for you.

Filling you with a sense of peace,

Confidence and self-assurance.

You are capable of making any positive changes that you need to live your best life and become the highest version of yourself.

See you relax,

Noticing what it feels like.

Allowing yourself to rest in these positive feelings.

I'll now count back from five to one and you can choose to drift off to sleep or become fully alert.

When I reach one,

You will either be in a state of deep sleep or you will be fully alert and awake,

Depending on how you've chosen to conclude this affirmation meditation.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.
