This meditation offers a gentle space to settle into the present moment and reconnect with the calm that is always here. From a 3 Principles perspective, you’ll be reminded that emotions are created by thought and are never a measure of who you are. By resting in breath and body, you can return to your natural wellbeing and ease.

Welcome.

Take this as a moment to pause.

To arrive here exactly as you are.

Nothing to change.

Nothing to fix.

Allow your body to rest into whatever supports you.

The chair,

The bed,

The floor beneath you.

Feel how it holds you without effort.

You do not need to hold yourself up.

Let the ground do that for you.

Notice the weight of your body.

The contact of your feet,

Your hands,

Your back.

Let yourself be received by this support.

Now,

Bring your attention gently to your breath.

There is no need to control it.

No need to slow it down.

Notice that your body is breathing itself.

Inhale,

Exhale.

A perfect rhythm that has always been here.

The breath is a quiet anchor,

A reminder that you are alive,

Present,

Safe.

When your mind drifts as it will,

Simply come back to this breath and the sound of my voice.

Now notice the rise and fall of your chest,

The coolness of the in-breath,

The warmth of the out-breath.

Each one a reminder that you are here now.

You may also notice sounds around you,

Perhaps close by,

Perhaps further away.

See if you can let them be part of the moment without needing to change them,

Without being pulled away by them.

Simply noticing.

Emotions may also be present,

Perhaps light and fleeting,

Perhaps heavy and insistent.

Whatever you are feeling is welcome.

Like weather in the sky,

Emotions change shape and move on.

The storm is never permanent,

And the sky is never harmed by the clouds.

From a three principles perspective,

Emotions are thought in motion.

They arise in this moment,

And they pass in this moment,

And they do not define you.

They are not proof of something wrong.

They are simply the experience of thought,

Felt through consciousness and witnessed by awareness.

Take a breath into that truth.

Inhale,

Exhale.

Notice the calm that sits beneath the movement.

When feelings seem urgent,

It can look like they are problems to solve.

But they do not need solving.

They only need space.

As you rest here,

Allow yourself to feel held by the present,

By the weight of your body,

By the steady rhythm of your breath.

You do not need to chase calm.

It is already here,

Beneath the noise of passing thought.

Perhaps right now,

An emotion is strong.

Let it be here.

You do not need to analyse it.

You do not need to change it.

See it as a cloud,

Drifting across the open sky of your being.

You are not the cloud.

You are the sky.

You are the one who notices.

And in that noticing,

Freedom begins to appear.

Take another breath.

Inhale gently.

Exhale fully.

Notice now,

Even as feelings come and go,

This rhythm remains steady.

Your breath is proof of life.

Proof of presence.

Proof that you are already whole.

Remind yourself gently.

Nothing is wrong with you because you feel what you feel.

Emotions are not flaws.

They are signs that thought is alive in the moment.

They are weather,

Temporary,

Passing.

You are the calm that holds them all.

As you sit with this,

Notice the resilience that has always been part of you.

Even when emotions feel consuming,

Something in you remains untouched.

The same presence that has carried you through every storm.

The same wisdom that has always brought you back to balance.

You are not broken.

You are not fragile.

You are whole,

Even in the midst of feeling.

As this meditation comes to a close,

Let yourself rest a little longer in this knowing.

Peace has never left you.

It was only obscured for a while.

Beneath thought,

Beneath feeling,

Stillness remains.

Whenever you forget,

You can return here.

Notice the breath.

Feel the body.

Allow emotions to pass.

And remember again,

The freedom that is yours in any moment.

Take one final steady breath.

Inhale.

Exhale.

And gently return to your day,

Carrying with you the calm that is always within.
